The "Boo-Hoo! The DLC is Too Expensive" Complaining Thread

Barbacoa Bowl with Pinto Beans, Mild Salsa, Hot Salsa, Extra Corn, Cheese, Sour Cream and FREE tortilla on the side is GOD LEVEL. Drench it in Green Pepper sauce and lemon and mix it it's delicious!
Dude get half chicken and half steak. They give u a full scoop of both. Then ask for a tortilla on the side since its free. Half the bowl makes a full burrito

I love how 11 pages in people still don't get that the DLC is not 30$ for the kombat pack in the OPs country, it is 45$. Which is EXACTLY what he is complaining about.

A lot of you need to go back to your english class because you obviously need to work on your reading comprehension.

I sell drugs to support my Mortal Kombat habit. Everybody on this site knows that AT LEAST one DLC character will be so OP that everyone will buy the DLC, if only for match-up XP. Soooo...yeah. Sell drugs.

I agree. But that sounds more like an economics thing, not an NRS thing.

WHAAAAAAT listen here

It's really simple..The price of the DLC is set, that is FACT. NO AMOUNT OF COMPLAINING IN THIS THREAD WILL CHANGE THAT
Now don't sit here and say you can't AFFORD it.. Not being able to afford something and not wanting to PAY for something are 2 different things...
ANNND it is OPTIONAL . You do NOT have to buy the season pass..

If you are using the "I'm a pro player so I have to buy all these chars to learn MU's etc..) excuse then you have really no reason to complain as this is part of being a pro player and you already knew what you were getting yourself into..

I'm certain you can buy the characters and skins SEPARATELY just like MK9-INJ
So if you need to download all the DLC characters and grab the skins at a later date you can do that.. You could literally just spend $5 A WEEK to get all the DLC if you don't want to spend the $30-45 at one time... WTF is so hard about this??

Now if you really genuinely CAN NOT afford the season pass but want it then this is NOT NRS fault.
I'ts called LIFE.. There is a lot of shit people want but can't afford and I'll tell you it's way more the 30 measly ass dollars (I want a fucking penthouse don't see me writing complaints about how it's the apartment complex's fault I can't afford it)
I mean really? You can borrow that shit from your parents if you had to...And if $30 optional DLC is stressing you out because you can't "afford" it then my friends you have your priorities all fucked up.

Every one of you saying $30 isn't a big deal better give me you God-damned lunch money next time I see you.

Sure I can afford the $30 but I have no plans to spend it to support what we all know will be some broken, unbalanced characters. That's just enabling poor behavior.
If NRS took a year or two to better develop things and released it as an update I would be very likely to buy it.

Shark Tank

I don't actually play these games
It doesn't have to be $30, I'll take whatever's in your wallet. And the way these Mr. Moneybags are talking that's probably a lot more than $30.
Well assuming they carry cash on them. But I get manager's special meat that feeds me for a couple weeks for 30$.

So....I'm not really sure what this thread is trying to accomplish.

Generally speaking, the idea behind DLC is that if you like the game you've bought, DLC can extend that game's life and offer you cool stuff that you might like to use/play with in the game.

Extra expansion packs, characters, skins, etc.

Now, the industry has taken this idea and warped it into the monstrosity it is today, one look at Evolve's DLC practices is a good example.

Still, ultimately, the DLC is optional.

"But Rude!" You say, "If we want to be competitive, we HAVE to buy the DLC characters."

To steal a line from Infra Dead, "Nope."

If you're a competitive player, you can either find someone in your local scene who HAS the DLC characters and train against those people...

OR...

Find a training buddy online who plays those characters. Now, for those of you who believe that option isn't viable, I'd like to point out that Tyrant didn't even own a copy of MK9 personally and was one of the best Jax players in the world. The same could be said for Rico Suave, who also didn't own a copy of Injustice and was a consistent Top 8 placer early in the game's life. So let's just do away with that talking point, all right?

No one is putting a gun to your head and making you buy DLC. Don't want Jason? Don't buy him. Don't want extra skins? Don't buy them.

It sucks that Australian players have to pay more, but is that REALLY an NRS issue? Do you really think NRS has COMPLETE CONTROL over the pricing of their games?

I'm pretty sure local retailers have something to do with it, not to mention adjusted rates for different costs of living, inflation, so on and so forth. The point is, I'm very sure there is more than just NRS in play when talking about the price of a product.

Also, for those who find the price from a store to be too much to ask for, why not get the game after release, second hand? EBay, Amazon, even GameStop's official site. There is no reason to be married to brick and mortar stores. You could even get the game used a few months in at a lower price from EBay or something, and then ONLY buy the DLC that YOU want. Or none at all.

If you REALLY don't like this strategy by NRS? Do something about it. Boycott the game, start a petition, send an e-mail to a games' journalist like Yahtzee or Jim Sterling or Total Buscuit or any of those, and ask to them write about the topic. If the demand is high enough, they'll do it. Create awareness. Try.

Short version: Making threads on TYM won't fix the problem. Buy the DLC or don't, the choice is yours, but bitching about it doesn't solve anything.

Because Rain and Skarlet were super broken and unbalanced, right? Lobo too, while we're at it. Jesus. The scrub talk here is insane.

Lobo was unbalanced in the other direction.
I'm not interested in buying Roll-tier characters either.

Every game has low tiers, mid tiers, and top tiers. Nothing unbalanced about that, it's a reality. Plus, Lobo is fine, now. Great damage, a 33/33/33 guessing game after a hard knockdown against characters with bad wake-ups, good footsies, strong air-to-air attacks. He's solid, not unbalanced.
