Yeah that's what I was referring to with Reiko betraying Shinnok, I'm pretty sure Shinnok will be the main villain for half of the story then Reiko will betray him and become the main boss, this would be a suprise to most considering he's never been a boss
The way I see things is we're getting a call of duty flash back story.

Actually I think it might span several years. Perhaps there will be a segment that follows it right after, then there will be one that follows it like 10 years later, and then another that follows it 25 years after the beginning.
Like black ops? Where the entire story is you going back and reliving the events after MK9 until present day 25 years later? I like that... as long as they don't blow off Shinnok and Quan by explaining it with just a cut scene. I need playable Quan Chi. I NEEED IT!!!!
yeah I don't think it's a bad idea, like the game is set in the 25 years ahead part but most of the gameplay is done back just after MK9 and you'll pop back and forth till the end where you're like aha big bad! we know all your secrets and shit then he'll just like kill cassie and liu kang will descend from above and flying dragon kick the boss ending the game and making his 30 second appearance.
