Zoning is never held in high regard. Even in games like SF with Guile or Sagat or in Marvel with Morrigan Doom. Scorpion will have to be changed or banned eventually but its pre-EVO. Let EVO sort it out. If it turns out that it really is the case that Scorpion renders half the cast useless like he currently does then a ban can be set in place.

The "level up" talk is retarded, the correct phrase to use is "wait and see".

People like fun. Getting zoned out is not fun. Especially at the pre patch deathstroke level. Broken or not, the majority has been crystal clear, zoning that good ruins the game for them. So I agree that they are biased but this game isn't their job, they play it for fun. Maybe you should try another game since you can't shut the Hell up about it.

Fun is subjective. I think someone blocking in the middle of my combo is not fun.

Deathstroke pre-nerf was better than Scorp is now. However, I never attempted to get him banned because of it.

People are never going to like pure zoning characters in any game because it slows the pace of the match down and most people just want to be entertained and don't look at the match in a technical way. Its like in MMA where fighters always go to the ground, or in SF in zoning wars.

I love dealing with full screen 50/50s and never having any influence on the pace of the match. It's the only thing that makes me feel alive. There are maybe 3 characters who can deal with him right? That's excellent. No need for diversity here.

Instead of actually playing a fighting game, let's all just flip a coin to determine who wins.

However, can't characters like bane armor through scorpion?

Can't other strategies work out?

Can a mb b3/f3 punish his teleports? Granted a mb teleport will blow that up.

Honestly "zoning" in Injustice is really different from most games and i can see why it makes people angry.

In games like Sf, kof, blazblue etc. You zone for a reason, be it spacing, to bait a mistake, to get some meter. But you dont zone all day..
In this game you chuck shit to kill, which is something thats very rare in any FG and when it does occur usually the game's engine gives you options (kof rolls and shitty meter gain, bb's barrier block, mvc assists, mobility options like running, superjumps and fly/airdashes etc).
In injustice the engine doesnt really work in the favor of the guy trying to get in and the mobility is hot garbage so you have to do alot of patience/work to get in on a zoner.

I cant complain coz i play 3 zoners but i understand why people dont like it, especially in this game as universally your options against are pretty limited.

I'm not one for nerfing or banning problems out the way. After all this bitching passes, this game is going to be so boring with characters getting needed every other week. I'm going to go against my personal beliefs and say yes ban scorpion. If Slade can lose his low gun, then we should lose scorpion. Then nerf black Adam and frost, before you know it. All the characters will be on the same "tier" then the game will be super hype.

Thats the thing though, if Scorpion wins evo (or if he is 5 of the top 8 characters..) i guarantee you this game's community will shrink beyond any repair.
Alot of current players will drop it and it wont bring in any new ones after they see the scorpion stupidity.

Isn't that part of the reason why he should be banned? If EVO has at least three Scorpions in top 8, this game will look like shit to the world.

I remember how hype MK9 EVO 2011 was. That was the first fighting game tournament I ever saw, and top 8 was incredibly diverse. After that, I became a stream monster, and signed up to this site. If it ended up being the Kabal and Cyrax fest it became 2 years later, I would probably have never cared about the game.

Seeing a bunch of frogs jump and pretty much spam with little to no thought is not good at all, and will repel people from Injustice.

Honestly we need the Litmus test that is CEO before we truly take action. After that, if people still feel as strongly then we can start to bring it up with TO's and more seriously discuss it in the competitive community.

If it's a go for CEO, it's going to be a go for EVO. I don't think EVO is going to want the backlash from banning a character with 2 weeks until the tournament.
