Hahahahahahahaha. I don`t know how he does it but he can turn you mad in a blink :). Sadly the club has few members (the majority just couldn't take Pig and abandon the forum :( ) I hope you turn a longtime member, plus now we have REO on our side. :joker:.
lol. Nah, Pig isn't going to run me off. I've been playing fgs since I was a child. I've dealt with worse.

I just find the game is rather linear and quite frankly i find it rather boring. A metagame hasn't entirely fleshed out yet so I don't have much of an interest in it yet, the game is still in it's early stages there is still plenty to be discovered and more things to be balanced.

Game isn't bad, it's just that atm for the majority of players (unless you're one of those select few who get to play high lvl comp offline regularly) it's more of a "throw out x safe advancing special / string with no penalty" or "throw x projectile and when they get near use an interactable". The game will develop further than this i'm sure, but atm it just isn't holding my interest as much as other games.

In the meantime i'm gonna expand my fg knowledge and knowledge in general with other games. Nothings wrong with this game really, it's not incredibly broken or anything, just not fun for me yet

I'm not reading through all 26 pages of this thread to come to the conclusion I need to.

I've been playing fighters since ST. This has happened before. Namely, it's happened every single god damned fucking time a new game drops. People get into bitchfests, declare everything "scrubby" or "braindead," dismiss the game, claim the old one was better in every single way and that people who enjoy the new game just don't get how so obviously superior the old game was. I never played MK9, but the truth is that the comparison is full on irrelevant.

Same garbage, different dumpster.

They really do. Lack of good fundamentals is a big reason MK players hardly ever branch out to other games.
No, it is not.

Most MK players have a very high level of attachment to MK as a whole, that generally has to do with the lore and the general nature of the game. It's a gorefest of a fighting game, with ninjas, monks, sorcerers, royalty, and 4-armed giants.

And trust me, as fucked up as MK9 is, the fundamentals required to play it now are up there. In all honesty a lot of them understand footsies better than you do.

you can't aa with batman and most of the roster. the only character that i know that have good d2 to aa with is grundy and AM and maybe supes everybody else is a freejumpin
Aren't you an online player? Aa isn't actually that hard offline. I can d2 with shazam pretty consistently, depending on the character. You can also ALWAYS back dash on reaction to a jump at least in my experience. You can dash fwd sometimes too.

Injustice footsies is weird for a lot of reasons. Fullscreen combo starters mean you have to be safe on all parts of the screen. Projectiles make it harder to get in, and the interactables make it tougher in some situations too. Some mechanics really help footsies though, like invinc. frames on backdash and universal punishers like B3 and F3 MB.

What people need to realize is 99% of the people who claim this game has no fundamentals also admit that MK9 was there first fighting game. The bias is so evident that it really shouldnt be an issue to anyone. That being said those guys need to stop talking like they are some FG god when they dont even know what footsies are. Just play MK or play IGAU, or both. No need to trash one or the other.
It's too easy for someone to google "footsies" and act like they know it all. I'm not trying to be a prick, but I believe most of the people on this site are new to fighting games. Rather if MK9 or Injustice was the first doesn't matter. Every match CDjr played at ECT impressed me because of his footsies. He was on point with whiff punishing and pokes. Eventually he started controlling the air with Superman njp. So if someone says this game lacks fundamentals or footsies, I take it with a grain of salt. It's something they'll understand more with experience.

If you google footsies then you would know what they are. Most people dont and just assume it means poking randomly or just spacing etc.

What is funny is CDjr is one who complains about lack of fundamentals. In reality a lot of MK players have really good fundamentals, they just have no idea what good fundamentals are lol

I should also mention that footsies can be impossible to do online because reacting is ten times harder.

Helps that Superman does your fundamentals for you.

LOL. So true. I read what footsies were a very long time ago and thought I understood. In theory I did, but applying that knowledge can be two different ball games. I remember jr bitching about people jumping while he was bodying the froggers lol.

Okay you guys... now I'm not Tom or Chris g or anything, but I consider myself to be pretty good at this game (at least for one month in) and at Team Yardley this game certainly has footsies. They are so different from mk that it was weird at first... but they are there and once you get accustomed to it the game feels very high level. I love it

^^^ I remember when SFIV dropped and how everyone was saying how scrubby that game was and that it lacked fundamentals. Now everyone claims it takes the most skill to play lol.

Zoidberg isn't new and he didn't learn footsies from Google -- you may not agree with him, but those are pretty ridiculous statements to make about somebody you don't know.

Huh? What are you talking about? I think you misunderstood. I was completely agreeing with his post about players thinking they know it all. Even he knew that lol.

1. I did google footsies and said so in one of my previous posts(granted it was 2 years ago when I started Mk9)
2. MK9 was my first fighting game and even after 2 years I consider myself relatively "new" to them.

My point was that anyone can google footsies and at least understand what they are, but people choose not to do so.

I do appreciate you having my back though, except me and tottery were kind of agreeing lol.
