I agree with this, I think the problem in the beginning was that people were trying to play against him with some weird entitled MK9-metagame. Everyone just got better at scouting the holes in his utility.

Speaking of utility, I think it's fair to say at least Bojutsu is washed up. What does it currently bring to the table over Ancestral and Shaolin other than better armor? Even Slayer has moved on to Shaolin for the most part lol.

Because tiers are created considering the "power" of a character, putting the ones with a similar level of "power" in the same category. An arithmetical division of all the characters in the game is a different thing.

Looking at a random tier list, we can all see that the top tier is far different from the top 10. Here is the 2014 SF third strike tier list, from Arcadia :

S+ Chun-Li
S Ken, Yun, Makoto
A Dudley, Urien, Akuma, Yang, Ryu, Oro
B Elena, Ibuki, Necro
C Alex, Hugo, Q, Remy
D Twelve, Sean

Only Chun-Li, Ken, Yun and Makoto are top tier, with Chun being a little bit better.
Oro is top 10, but no one would say he is top tier lol.

Erm, everyone got the same instant NJP adjustment. >_> It was a universal "nerf".

This is semantics. When people get specific, what you wrote is totally accurate. However, colloquially, many people speak about tier lists in more general, less precise terms. Within that context, top, mid, and bottom match up perfectly with top 10, middle 10, and bottom 10.

Again, I agree with what you wrote, but the more general approach I summarized is used quite often on this message board and in tier list discussions in general.

Okay... The big thing is that it punishable on block. Kung jin has a good reason to do an instant NJP, a lot of characters don't. Just because it is a universal change doesn't mean it has a universal effect on every character.

Also I think the 11 got changed to -2, when it was first either neutral or + a little, but don't quote me on that.

Edit: f3 got changed from neutral to -3 too.

I can't make average stats on 1 amazing player that also brought Kitana on top. Sonicfox is decidedly good and on top by himself. I also know, in USA, Jax was top 1 because of cdjr during his dominant period on mk9.
DJT Tempest Kunglao can beat Sonicfox' EB. Sonic uses Kitana (who is weirdly in the top 10 list as well now) against tempest for a while now.
And trust me, a tier list may change from a place to another. The korean tier list was not the same than the occident for starcraft. Same in SF, where Rose was shit tier in USA and top in europ and then Luffy won EVO with Rose.

I'm not saying Kitana and EB are bad, I'm saying that there are 10 characters that have better ratio of good matchups. If Sonicfox would have main Liukang, you guys would have put him on that list.This is my opinion, even if it's not the debate here x)

I almost see never fighting a Tanya, but there's really no chance you've never fought a Cassie unless you got the game last night and have only played 5 or 6 games online. She's a very popular character.

Fair enough. Can't argue with that. But I still don't feel it hurt him that badly. I guess he's just not the FotM anymore.
