Why do you prefer MKX to Injustice?

Saying one fighting game is better than the other based on characters and story is bullcrap. You know what game is better than IGAU and MKX?
Red Dead Redemption :DOGE Even then, MK has a great universe.

I'm not going to try and change your opinion, but I just want to point out your particular example is flawed.

In the comics, Superman's disguise is not simply a pair of glasses. It is a number of things. He changes his complete body language and stature, goes from being overly confident to shy and awkward, changes his accent, etc. As Superman his eyes are an unnatural blue, which the glasses help to hide and bring it back down to a more human hue.

There mores to it, but yeah. It isn't as simple as just putting on a pair of glasses, because well duh, who wouldn't recognize him then.

It's actually pretty well thought out, in the comics at least. Just saying.

Also, if ANY fighting game had the cast of Sex in the City, I would ABSOLUTELY play it.
ya this stuff goes along way. that, and i think most people didnt expect superman to have a secret identity anyway so they wouldnt even suspect.

i remember pre-crisis superman would vibrate his face so fast that nobody could ever rally get a good picture of him to conpare. or his glasses were some invention of krypton to increase his super hypnotism to fool people.

good times.

im not trying to convince you to like anything. just wondering why, when mkx character's are infinitely more shallow and uninteresting than dc's, yet you still don't hold them to the same standard you did injustice. it's similar to stating your reason for prefereing mkx over inj is because you didnt enjoy injustice for it's 50-50 metagame. like, what?

do you see how thats confusing
If I had to guess, it's because I have kind of a personal relationship with the characters. I was introduced to them at a very young age (coin-op days), and because my hyper religious stepmother wouldn't allow it in the house, is probably why it's engrained in me. MK was also the reason I questioned God for the first time, since I loved MK, and if MK isn't Christianly or allowed in heaven, then how is heaven perfect for me?

I also fucking despise back to block games.

Also, people that rip other people's heads off are more up my alley that flying at the speed of light to get some kids cat out of a tree.

Hat Trick
I got into Fgc with injustice too, but I only got into it because I had so much fun playing green arrow and landing his resets. No one has any X-ray resets in this game and that makes me sad :(
Also I love universal b3, f3 and mv versions. Giving everyone an armored launcher made it interesting. Having two health bars instead of doing round system made it seem more fair. The high damage unblocbale interactives and the superman damage trait just made it seen like a bully game

that's cool. it's fine to admit bias being the reason for your preferance over characters like superman, who is an internationally famous symbol for america itself, to generic ninja guy in different color costume than the other 5 same ninja guys.

we can't all have good taste, breh...

Didn't wanna go there but I doubt most of the professional world holds comic book idolization as a particularly enlightening trait, lol.

Oh so that's why superman just arrived in some city on Earth and destroyed the shit outta it in an attempt to just get rid of a few bad guys in that recent superman movie. :DOGE

Holy shit, I've been transported to every single comicbook movie forum for the last two years again.
Most fans of the character were profoundly disappointed by that movie, especially the ending.

Those that were not, for the most part, only focused on the destruction porn.
Uuuh, no.

Haha, I have never been to a comicbook forum, seen that movie or read a superman comic; I just heard about what happens in the movie. You gotta admit though, its strangely allegorical, considering what Shaazzyam said.

I prefer mkx because i'm not a mega dc fan, not many characters were fun to play as in igau for me. In IGAU, I played 2, sometimes 3 characters seriously (Lobo, GL and Ares) and in MKX I play Erron Black/Ermac/Goro/Johnny Cage/Mileena and I want to continue learning how to play as more due to my attachment to the chars in the roster. Being around during IGAU's time introduced me to some great people (keyword, SOME) though, so I owe it some love.

Each to their own I guess.

I thought it was very well done while showing many different aspects of the DCU.

What didn't you like about it?
Well, I was kinda hoping to not derail the hell out of this thread, but I just thought it was incredibly lacklustre.

The comics are amazing, but to me the game's story just feels like they got whoever was lying around at NRS at the time to write a DC story, despite how much/little he knew about the universe. Which I'm pretty sure is exactly what happened.

The whole parallel universe thing was extremely uninspired and took away the tension immediately for me, and I just felt like when everything was said and done almost nothing memorable had happened apart from Shazam getting his shit absolutely wrecked.

Thanks, man.

I agree it wasn't the most inspired story, but I really liked the premise with what Joker did to Superman, and the cinematic were very well done. I see it as just the NRS take on the crisis on two earths story, and I would have gladly paid $10 to see that in a theater instead of MoS. But, let's just agree to disagree.
I LOVE all the Joker/Superman stuff, but I give more credit to the comics for that.

Err....why? That all originated with the game. The comics came after.
(Holy shit this thread is getting detailed hard) The comics started a few months before the game came out... that's why it was so underwhelming when all the parallel universe stuff came in.

AUS FGC represent!
How much did sonic fox's 1 bar corner combo do? And I'm talking only about aquaman on the chip and meter build. Shit was ridiculous and everyone hated it. Raiden will get a nerf and to me scorpion is fine. He gets 2 reps of that and you get a chance to get out.
Sonic fox's BnB did 54% max damage was 60% (with 2 1 frame links) max practical damage was 58%.

Brah, remember this?
Ill take raidens chip and 50/50s any day
I know how much meter it built/chip it did. I also know that after it he was minus and you got a turn to do stuff. Contrast that with scorpion who remains forever plus or Raiden who has a mixup of f12 or f12b2.

It's like people complaining about 50/50s in injustice being totally ok with the 50/50s on steroid that MK X has. It's ok to like MK X and not Injutice but don't talk about chip, meter build and 50/50s as if these aren't incredibly rampant in MK X

superheros are everywhere. big screen, small screen, comics, video games, and they'll even show up to your niece's birthday party. pretty much all mediums of entertainment, mk can't say the same.

without the comic, i wouldn't have cared for injustice story mode. it's not on the same level as the comics, at all. all the shoe-horned fights and bleh dialogue typical of nrs wasn't impressive
