The economy of the world market is quite dependent upon the consumer economy of the United States, including China's own economy. So this really isn't an issue in my eyes until China's standard of living raises much higher.

I've seen estimates that it's only a matter of, maybe, 10 years until the Chinese overtake the US as the world's number 1 economy. I am not for or against that, per se, but it will definitely have a far-reaching impact in areas such as international military affairs and the devaluation of the US dollar. The good news is that China's exploding growth of affluent citizens means a lot more spend-happy tourists are visiting locations in the Pacific. Yay for me!

Technically, no baby can survive on its (ITS!) own. We all need a guardian of some kind to provide food, shelter and even human comfort up until, arguably, at least three years old. This is why I never feel comfortable with the argument that a child becomes worthy of legal protection when it's able to survive on its own.

I swear to Christ if another one of you quote me to flex your e-peen i'm gonna shoot myself. Technically a baby can survive on its own. Will it be able to survive for very long? Of course not.

*never felt comfortable
*three years old (dangling preposition)

Please go play grammar Nazi somewhere else.

A lot of talk on pro-choice/life in here. I am pro-choice, but for reasons beyond the questions surrounding the point of origin for life. First off the procedure itself is not something many people are comfortable with, and can be one of the worst experiences of their life. The reason they do it though is because it's the responsible thing to do. Now don't misunderstand me, it's not just the responsible thing for their life so that they don't "ruin" it, but for literally everyone. If the woman was not already financially stable, then the life of the child in question would probably be that of poverty, with few opportunities, often in a broken home as well. Also the parents often need financial assistance, burdening the state, which in turn burdens everyone.

I'm not for Obamacare, but I hope this is a joke...
Maybe you can explain your side of the argument for me. I am for the Affordable Healthcare Act, though personally I would favor a single payer system over it, but whenever I ask people the reason they are against it they usually just throw out a bunch of buzz words and don't actually give valid reasons. I'd like to hear that side of the argument from someone that actually knows why they are against it, lol.

My side of the argument?

My health insurance will end in December of this year because of a 60%+ increase in price.

It turns out, I dialed the number myself and it appears real. Maybe this is just a sick joke.

My local news calls it "Obamacare" and also affordable healthcare act. Literally both.
But that's not what it's actually called lol. The only time Obama and members of his administration use that term is when they're explaining it to people who think that's what it's called. No one would actually use it in an official context.

I'm sure once metabunk.org updates, people like Revolver and Zoidberg747 will have plenty of excuses.
If you're meaning excuses as to why that is the number, that isn't the actual number for Obamacare. From what I've been reading it's a phone sex line that was similar and changed their message to that. The real number spells out as: 1-800-F1UCKYO. Whether or not that information is true, either way it isn't hard to realize it's fake. When is the last time you called a store, or anywhere, and there was an automated machine asking you if that was a place you were calling? Then RECONNECTED you.

I'm against Obamacare, but I wouldn't mind seeing something like a single payer system as well. The problem with Obamacare is that it's too expensive. In most states, an average middle class person's premiums are increasing by 50%-150%. On top of that, you will have a huge deductible (somewhere in the $5000-$6000 range). This is going to destroy the middle class. Consumer spending is going to drop dramatically once everyone is forced to pay an extra $100-$200 per month. Our economy is already on shaky ground, I just don't how this could end well.

1-800 FUCK YOU is Obamacare, what are you talking about? They changed the 1, it goes to the exact same place.
So the real number can spell out 1-800-F1uckyo? dat conspiracy

If 1-800-fuckyou leads to what it shows in the video, which im afraid to call lol, it wouldn't be something set up by the administration. If its legit at all it's someone using it to redirect to the real number as a joke.

Yeah I agree that, that is an issue with Obamacare, that there are many people that barely make too much to benefit from the subsidies but as a whole I feel the benefits outweigh the bills faults. And I don't mean to sound impersonal as I know people who are affected negatively but the greater majority of insured individuals won't be affected by the raise in premiums because they will either qualify for the subsidies or get insurance through their workplace. I still don't understand though how the insurance companies can justify raising their premiums as high as they are rising since the only thing that is implemented before 2015 is guaranteed protection for people with pre-existing conditions.

Yes.

Dial 1-800 FUCK-YOU. It's literally the official number for Obamacare. Period.
Dial that number and say no. Tell me what it takes you to. I'd do it myself but if it's a phone sex line like I read, I don't want to pay some $3 to debunk something as silly as this.

1-800-F1U-CKYO is the official number for Obamacare. 1-800-FUC-KYOU is either something else or a redirect thing done as a joke.

It's not necesarily the insurance company's fault that their premiums are going up. Obamacare places certain coverage mandates on what types of plans they can offer, meaning they must offer more coverage for it to be considered acceptable health insurance. That expense gets passed on to us. AHA also imposes a straight up tax on health insurers. there is also something called "Community Rating", which says that the most expensive plans cannot be more than 3x more expensive than the cheapest plans. Instead of making the most expensive plans cheaper, most companies are just raising the cheapest plans. All these expenses are getting passed on to the consumer.

Keep watching Rachel Maddow bro....you're fuckin out there.
Wait what? lol i'm just stating what it probably is.

These are the facts:
- 1-800-F1U-CKYO is how you can spell the official number
-1-800-FUC-KYOU leads to someone asking if you're looking for Obamacare, and if you press 1 it redirects you to the first line
- The first number doesn't use the term "Obamacare", a non-official term not used by those affiliated with the Obama administration

Someone probably set it up as a joke. You can automate a service like that to connect you to a different number, which is what it does. The same way I can make a website called spoiledwhiteboys.com and say "If you're looking for the official Dubya website, click here", with a link to GWB's website.

The way I see it though it is the insurance company's fault. They were told that they can only charge 3x more for the most expensive plan than the cheapest, so instead of lowering the price of the most expensive they raise the price of the cheapest. I don't feel they were justified to do this considering it is a fact that America has the highest average cost for healthcare for their coverage in comparison to the average income. In other words, American insurance companies are already fucking us over with their current prices, and now they are going to raise them. This is an issue with the insurance companies, not an issue with the legislation.
