Do you even lift bro? Workout thread....

What I do is simple.

Diet:

I eat things that I want, but I choose the better option. If I want Doritos, I always buy the baked kind. I couldn't imagine buying the regular kind and thinking that with every chip I eat, it's 1 gram of fat. Also, low-sodium is a must. I always try to pick the lower-sodium option, I don't want to balloon up. I also drink about 80 ounces of water a day, so I make sure that I won't gain any water-weight, and it helps me when I exercise.

Workout:

I don't focus too much on my upper body. I'll lift some weights but that's about it. When I go to the gym (5 days on, 1 day off), I do the following:

Elliptical - 45 minutes, at least 8 miles.

Stair Climber - 45 minutes, I don't know how many stairs.

Lolol oh God for me it's like getting an ironing board and attaching two balloons at the bottom #Kappa

Insomnicide I have recently started bouldering so that's a pretty decent workout and I swim a lot haha. But I don't take whey protein but I heard it helps lol and peanut butter sammiches are awesome.

Any specific brands you recommend?

Just throwing this out there.

*Not meant for people who are already bulked up*

Detox plan of 2 weeks
You need a juicer, NOT A BLENDER, veggies, and fruits. (LOTS OF VEGGIES)

You basically only drink water as your drink, and your meals consists of juiced up veggies and fruit (keeping it 75% veggie based, 25% or so fruit based)

If you buy organic even better.
What this does is detox your body completely, helps your skin, hair, etc. It helps you lose weight as well, and is awesome to detox your body before starting to live a healthier lifestyle.

I'm starting this again monday for 2 weeks, and eating healthy, organic after the 2 week mark. Every day or so, I will continue to have a juice though. However, during the 2 week detox period, no solid food is permitted of any kind.

For those really wanting to lose a lot of weight, a 2 month detox period of only juice is a plan too, but you'd need to consult your doctor before beginning a plan of 4 weeks or longer.

You feel more lively, healthy, and energetic. I recommend starting this when you have no school, work, etc. Because the first few days, you will be in your bathroom 24/7

Here are some of the recipes :)

Implement exercise with it too.
For me, Yoga, running, and squats.

When I use Whey Protein I usually go for GNC Pro Performance 100% Whey. Another popular one that TONS of people swear by is Gold Standard.
If you really want to bulk up like crazy though, try a Mass Gainer such as Beyond Raw Re-built Mass Gainer or Russian Bear Weight Gainer. (You'll really have to keep up with cardio though as to not puff up in areas most guys don't want mass... like the ab region for instance) I personally tried Russian Bear for 5 months while I was overseas and I got to a massive 215 lbs of just muscle. Being that big was super inconvenient for soccer though so I cut back down 30 lbs.

Is it a good idea to take a day break here and there? Cuz I plan on working out every single day. I guess it wouldn't hurt to take a day off to rest right?

I've been doing 6 on and one off for the last couple years and focusing one muscle group a day plus cardio (45 minutes usually).

However, I've been a gym rat for over a decade and it is like second nature. If you are just starting off I recommend doing 4 days a week and three days cardio (you can do cardio on the same day of lifting if you prefer).

I actually recommend doing cardio post weights because it has been clinically proven both by other physicians and also from personal experience. It just burns more fat while your muscles are "hot" as I like to call them.

I actually cut out the Hexaghen and started taking this supplement that a colleague/friend developed that is a days worth of micro and macro nutrients. It's all natural and has no side effects. I've been taking it for a week. He told me that it is guaranteed to double recovery and increase mass within the first month. He gave me 90 days free, so I thought why not?

To the person who said my workout is horrible. I have gotten substantial gains in strength, chest size, arm size (both upper and forearm area), calf size, and thigh size. Also, about six of us who have been doing this routine have seen great gains.

I've also been toying around with some different ideas with my medical and chemistry background regarding muscle regen and when the optimal time is for working another muscle group.

I've done some research (reading wise) from some experts that say optimal time for strength gains is two days post muscle group workout.

Example:

Monday: Biceps/Triceps
Tuesday: chest
Wednesday Biceps/Triceps

According to "experts", if you do 100lbs for Bicep curl on Monday, Tuesday your maximum would be 102lbs, and then peak on Wednesday at 106lbs and fall down from there everyday after.

The problem with this is how would a normal person be able to get all their muscle groups in and follow this schedule? It's good on paper if all you want to do is focus on two muscle groups, but doesn't work out when you actually analyze it. The only way it "can" work is if you goto the gym two-three times a day and ain't nobody got time for that.

Also, someone asked about whey protein. Any brand will do. Get the cheap stuff and save yourself some money. However, separate a weeks worth into individual sandwich bags to prevent oxidation and breakdown of proteins. Believe me, this is important.

Shamrock Farms came out with a Protein milk shake called Rockin Refuel that tastes amazing and is a good source of protein at 20grams and low fat per 12OZ.

One final thing. Please, if you are bulking; do it right and do it healthy. Don't gorge yourself. I've been around the block in the hospital to see all these "fit" guys that are 50 years old now that bulked eating nothing but shit and now have more health problems than someone that weighs 400lbs.

On top of this, try C4 Extreme pre workout drink and also their mass builder. Works great and doesn't give the jitters like other pre-workout drinks.

Edit: I meant that to be for the guy you quoted, not you. Lol. Good advice though man.

ColdBore - No problem lol. And what you said with ->

I didn't know that, I'll have to give that a go and see how the results are

If you aren't going on a juicing detox, do you think it's better to just get a blender? I've read that a blender can be better because it doesn't filter out the skin and stuff which contains a lot of fiber. I'm interested in getting either a juicer or blender sometime, mainly as a way to help get more veggies in and as a small meal replacer.

Today I did:

Deadlifts 235 4x3, failed last set and only did 1 rep.
Leg assistance exerises and some ab stuffs.

The juicer allows the body to absorb the nutrients much faster and efficiently.
I would recommend for you to use a juicer.

If you drink at least 1 a day, you'll see good results. I don't know if you'd want to try a detox plan, but incorporating one juice a day is as healthy as it gets, maintaining a good diet and adequate physical activity.

Ok, cool, thanks. Thinking of grabbing a juicer before school starts.

Best Doomsday in the world
theres only one supplement i need
Deleted the picture cause it's huge. Creatine causes hair loss and erectile dysfunction. It also just causes your muscles to absorb more water. So you look bigger, but you're not actually any stronger. I know you're probably joking, but be careful bro.

Lol none of you guys even lift. You're all looking skinnylicious.
I knew there'd be at least one of these in here. You should go work on that lack of self confidence instead of trying to make yourself feel better by bringing down others.

Agree with this 1000%. The only creatine intake currently is what is in my pre-workout C4 which is only a gram a serving and won't blow you up.

Good stuff brad.

I take the Swoller Express to Yolkville everyday, after a solid 40 minutes of just walking around looking sweaty with my heaphones in, sometimes I'll actually lift a weight for a few seconds. If you ask me if I'm using a machine, I'll never back down because I'm too alpha to admit I had no intention of using it and pace around it for another 40 minutes then shadow box in a mirror. Most of the time I'm in the sketchy locker room trying to sell shitty steroids, though.

Diet: whatever i want, my metabolism is cool, been skinny my whole life. (lots of subway)
Post workout: 1 shake containing whey protein blend, with a lil bit of creatine in it, but really a small amount.
soy milk, spinach, cail, grapes, strawberries, bananas, blueberries, frozen yogurt, and dark chocolate. this shake has a ton of calories and shouldnt be used if youre trying to lose weight.

workout: running, dung bell curls/ presses. push ups, planking, situps, dips, and weird core exercises i dont know the names of. i also hold out a twenty pound weight in front of me while squating and turning my torso until i cant do it any more to get those strange muscles you sometimes forget about.

ive put on 15 pounds of muscles doing this the past 6 weeks, i actually have pecks now which is awesome.

What are your sources? The main issue with creatine is that some studies have shown that it can do damage to the liver or kidney. But in many other studies there are no negative effects. Creatine is found in foods like beef. If you take 5g of creatine a day from a shake and then get it from other food sources, then there should be no negative side effects. I think loading up on creatine may be a bit more risky becasue you take so much in, but if you are just taking 5g a day then it's not a big deal.
