And without them, stages don't really mean anything,
I'd be fine with that. Pretty much every other competitive endeavor is played on a uniform playing field for a reason, including most non-NRS fighting games*. There's a reason a football field isn't 90 yards long in Philadelphia and 110 yards long in San Diego.

* They make the game somewhat interesting I suppose, but I could do without them. And as a lifelong Tekken player, I've always hated the addition of walls and the fucking stupid free damage they bring - even when I'm the one benefitting.

I think it would be cool if Injustice had a couple stages with no corners, but I guess varying character strengths in the corner are an ingrained aspect of balance at this point.

Yes. Power characters will always have an advantage since they can throw anything. Plus do you really want to lose the match by getting hit with a chair or a tv? I think is dumb

You guys are confusing the question "Would you like to see a tourny without interactables/transitions"
with
"Do you think this game would be better without interactables/transitions".

Please stop doing that.

There's a strong correlation between both questions. You can't bring one without bringing the other into the discussion.

Well some people might want to just see what it is like. Me personally, I don't care as long as the tourney I am playing in has interactables, since that is what I have trained for.

Remember the question is whether you'd like to see A tournament, i.e. ONE tournament, run without interactables. I'd say yes just out of academic interest without changing the norm of interactables on. Same as the smash community sometimes turns on items/smash balls out of curiosity.

Pretty much this.

I'm not asking good, bad and whether to ban them. Thats just silly. However, I want to know everyone's take on how they feel interactibles/stage transitions effect things and whether it'd be good or not to see a tournament ran without them in your opinion. Would it be more hype? Less hype? Same? What would it do to people's footsies? Would folks take bigger risks with less tools for big damage to try and get big damage or play it more careful without the backup those tools lent them?

This is what I'm wanting to see because it changes some stuff for streams and viewers.

I don't think we'll ever know for sure unless we try at least one.

I'd rather actually not see any Tourney's of that kind that may discourage players from finally learning to dynamically change their combos when they take into consideration where the enemy is going to land- to keep interactable advantage.

I would not mind seeing such a tourney, but I doubt such things would become mainstream. It's been pretty much accepted by a majority of the community that the interactables and transitions are to remain legal. I honestly have not lost any sleep over that, I'm fine with them being in the game...although, I still suck at backdashing interactables, LOL.

Never hurts to try an experiment and see if the results are favorable. And judging by AK Smarrgasm's feedback, it seemed to go well.

what idiots voted no? who wouldnt want to see this? no one is making it tourny standard. one tournament without interactables? no one loses from this happening, and it is valuable to know how it would pan out imo.

Fuck yes!

I want to see someone win because they played better, not because they cornered someone and "turned on a jet engine".

Fucking dumb.

The people that play in it lose because they trained for a completely different game.

If everyone in it agrees then sure why not

ok so these tournament players just turn up without prepping for a non interactable tournament? if a player dont agree he wont attend. there is no losing, only learning from this exhibition tournament.

All I'm saying is make sure to advertise it beforehand. It would be dumb for people to travel and then the TO throw a curveball like that.

If people want to set it up as its own thing then whatever.

i just want a varied top 8. grundy, flash, sinestro, lex (lol), wonder woman, bane, joker, raven, etc.
I'm not really certain interactibles are the reason those folks aren't in top 8. They just require more work for folks to utilize and up till now its been about playing it safe for tourney dudes...though Wonder Woman is likely the top out of those alongside of Raven. I'm betting EVO gets crazy though. Folks always sleep on characters till then and debut their findings there.

It would be amazing if they were used in EVO. I meant what i want from a tournament is diversity, not banned interactables/transitions, i like them.

They add a lot for sure. The general consensus I seem to see from this thread is that
  1. folks like the way they change footsies and add depth to that strategy
  2. most do not seem to agree with damage on these things or dig thrown interactibles
  3. folks who play gadget characters have reasons to feel salty on options regarding these tools
  4. folks would be interested in seeing a tourney, but they dont want this to turn into a standard or ban thing because they like what happens with interactibles.
So a no interactible/transition tourney seems like a "sure whatever" for half the folks here and the other half just in general seems to be all for it due to the damage they've seen people abuse on interactibles/transitions. Nothing ruins a day more than a MB b3 in the corner ftw apparently.
So...after reading all of this should I guess we keep the interactibles, but push for a damage nerf on them? 22%-44% seems to be something I've seen with them. Maybe 16% or less would be sufficient since they are mainly a footsie tool we want so long as offense isn't easily replaced by them by some folks.
