Lol you clearly don't know me, I'm like the least salty player in the community. My placing has literally nothing to do with this, you can even ask the top 8 placers they'll agree with me.

But writing out clear points of the issues with the tournament isn't enough I suppose.

Why should we elevate our esport status along with other fighting games using EVO's prestige? We should totally separate ourselves from FGC and that fake "world championship" thing and make our own tournament! Seriously fuck Vegas, who wants to go there lol? Let's have it at Philadelphia or something. Also let's keep it only NRS games so we have time to play first to sevens every match!

Every year EVO has hard time deciding what games they should include, apparently they can't fit every game in one weekend or something. Lame excuse, you really think their event could any run worse at this point? I say let's volunteer to drop out from EVO. They only like Japanese games anyway. That's why they have Smash there.

BTW yeah get rid of UltraDavid asap. That guys just thinks he can commentate whatever game he wants just because he "likes them" or is a "experienced, legit good commentator". I bet he never even played MK: Deception in a tournament.. Ban that jackass from our community. I think Aris has been commentating NRS games occasionally for what, five years now? He was cool until I heard him talk shit about our games on his podcast, so get rid of him too.

It has everything to do with it I am afraid. He is recognisable and brings in people from other scenes. that being said, I was expecting the twins.....

You young pups should all be ashamed. This isn't your tin pop stream from the backyard. Ultradavid and Aris are HUGE members of the NRS community and always have been. Just because 1/2 of you are children and think 2 years is a long time dosn't mean shit. Those guys and Ultradavid specifically have done more for this community than most of you will ever know. K&M are great casters, and as recognition they got given a shot at EVO commentary. No one starts at the top you over privileged scum bag stream monsters. Ultradavid and Aris are proven commentary masters, it is not even a decision for them to be casting, especially with ESPN watching closely and even broadcasting. They have the know how, they have the professional skills and they have the roots in the community that go back years and years.. probably longer than most of you have had hair on your balls. KP has the cred, but not the experience, though he will I have no doubt climb intro the professional casting ranks.

The disrespect is out of control. Respect your betters. Ultadavid and Aris rule!

The live stream was at such weird times I didn't even get to watch from home and I don't know about any of the outcomes. This thread is getting big and everything has been said already. What I think isn't said is that I think NRS and a lot of games that aren't Capcom games get shafted at EVO Smash aside but even then still...

NRS needs to dump everything they got into ESL. I got my PS4 stolen but, if I had one I could compete from home on decent netcode and have a shot at playing the best in the world. At EVO mother fuckers don't even stream it at a decent quality until Top 8 and at Top 8 I didn't get to see the super hype elims on the pros that tried hard to get there or the friends I had try and get there. At least I get to see almost ALL the games I want to see for ESL because people record them from home and upload them. Plus NRS is totally cool with the uploads unlike Nintendo was for a while.

Offline tournaments I don't know much about but the one that's most supported with internet content would be the best choice. The matches and rounds need exposure not the tournament getting exposure off the games. From what Foxy said it sounds like they herded you in like cattle wasted a load of time and let you beat em up on the game that wasn't SFV. Next they said alright thanks for the ticket money. It's all over now time to SFV. (Also I get it SFV is brand new and what not but MKX like others have said is not old. Don't think I am taking anything away from the pros who might have done really well and worked hard to get to EVO. I haven't been able to watch it yet.)

Yo I am gonna stop you right there cause I don't think people are disrespecting I think the game is just young and has a lot of fresh faces. Their good commentators I am sure but, in my opinion Ketchup and Mustard are the only commentators I would like to see in MKXL they know the game and they breathe the game from what I can tell on their youtube channel and streams.

There is no animosity toward either Aris or UD, I'd be one of the first to hold my hands up and say they're 2 of my FAVOURITE fgc commentators, however, that doesn't mean they fit the role for what our community needs.

Aris is the god, and sonya is indeed a hard working fair win

I'm not really talking to you, in the rant, only in the "meaning". While disagree with some of your post most of what you are saying in this thread is bang on. There is a difference between someone putting forth thought out points and a bunch of trash talking ingrates acting like foot stamping 12 year old girls.

K&M are legit casters, there is not a question here. Everyone thinks so, and that is why they were given a shot at Evo commentary. For that very reason. This is the 1st time they are commentating at Evo and they are there BECASUE they are respected. That dosn't mean they should instantly get the most coveted casting job in the FGC a Top 8 EVO night on the very first time they ever show up.

ESPN was watching, all eyes.. huge money men where watching EVO 2016 thinking about the future of eSports. Is it really so hard to understand why they would want some very experienced casters who are known quantities, as well as having cross game appeal?

I'll be real, I love Ultra David commentary, but I can't stand Aris "sexual harassment is part of the culture" Bakhtanians. He will forever be more relevant than I am, and would outplay me any day I'd bet, but am I seriously the only one who is still not kosher with him after that whole ordeal?
