This could've been some permutation of these characters for KP2:
Bo' Rai Cho*
A Cyborg
Havik
Noob
Any woman besides Sindel, Sheeva, or Sareena.

*I would metaphorically have a heart attack if this had happened.

KP2 has my number 1 and 2 pick in it, good.
Xenoraka is pretty damn creative, cool.
A dude who has a chainsaw, pretty sweet.

Any other choice would've been disinteresting to me, but I still would've bought the pack. More content is more content after all.
Even if I didn't like any of the characters in KP2, I'd have bought it anyway because I like to have all the characters available to me. I'd also do it to help support NRS.

Tanya was completely redesigned from her 3D era incarnation.

What makes people think BRC won't get the same overhaul?
He might get overhauled, but the disdain is so strong that I will never like him and I know quite a few feel similar. Tourney players buy the pack anyway, but many casuals will still hate him and say "where's Noob? Where's Rain? Why the lame fat guy?" like they are saying already. Someone like Tanya never had that level of hate so she was well received right away. The thing is with NoRaiCho is that he had a lottttt of hate and "anyone but him" movements before even KP1. So the decision doesn't make sense from a business standpoint. It would be like including Kai or Movado. They have "some" fans, but the amount they don't have, and the amount that straight hate those characters is much higher than like at least 10 others.

It's like you have say 20 MK characters to pick from, and you pick the 13th most desired. Why not a top 5 most wanted? Doesn't make any sense. The only thing I can think of is someone with decision making power likes him personally and chose to add him over actual fan feedback since they'll make money anyway.

*i forgot to msg you about the Jacqui thing. I'll hit you up.

Don't get me wrong on that last post saying I would have not preferred Bo over Fujin or Noob. I know you're not making that assumption, just want to clarify.

I definitely saw all those posts as well saying "no to Bo" and the polls obviously add up to what you're saying. However, there are many times where I saw people also asking for Bo Rai Cho. I don't think its fair to say that just because as many people that didn't want Bo also wanted him, he wasn't heavily requested. He was just as heavily disdained.

Unfortunately, we got who we got in this new KP (I'm looking at those stupid guests) but I do think it would be fair to be give NRS the chance to revamp Bo into a more serious fighter compared to his previous incarnations before we completely shit on NRS for choosing Bo over the others.
A lot of that post replies to this too, but here I'll just add that it's most likely he'll be revamped. The issue is they think someone like me would care, or others like me, when my level of disgust outweighs any revisions they'll make. I will not buy the KP2 and only buy who I like singular for the sole reason that Bo is in it. That's what it's come to now lol.

It's like Supergirl winning the poll NRS put up for dlc fans want in Injustice but then giving us someone else. Then what was the point? It's like, if you have 50 people ask for a character and the other 50 hate him, but you have 92 people ask for a diff character and 8 hate him, why go with the first one? I just can't draw any objective conclusion other than someone in power wanted to add who "they" wanted to add regardless of the overall fan feedback.

It's a risk. He's not the most obvious decision, but I have faith in NRS that they have some awesome ideas for the character or else they wouldn't have picked him. Bo' Rai Cho has always been one of the characters that deserves a second chance, and they're giving it to him. He has been fairly requested over the years, and hasn't been playable since MK:A, unlike Noob or Rain who were playable last game. To me, yeah he's not Fujin, but he's the 2nd best thing lol, and I think a lot of other people feel that way.

Maybe they do have plans for Noob, Rain, Fujin, etc but they're waiting until MK11 and they want to give fans Bo as a way of saying that he probably won't appear in future games, his fate was ambiguous after all. Or they could be including him to test how well he is received by the casuals, who knows. Obviously i'm still pissed about Fujin not making the cut, but I blame the guest characters, not the only good choice in the entire pack.

What doesn't?I basically all guest characters we have gotten in NRS have fitted like a glove besides Scorpion...I called it a slap in the face because he was shove in because of boon's love affair with the character and in my opinion didn't fit at all with the DC universe and especially for the tone of Injustice. BTw, fit like a glove is a reference to an old cartoon I use to watch as a kid. anyway, look man that is what it means if you are still confuse then I don't know what to say. It seems when people wanna hate on NRS they don't wanna be challenge and shoot down at attempts to correct them.
I was clearly talking about your logic. Injustice Scorpion fits in quite well with the glossy flamboyant superhero look and tone of Injustice yet his inclusion is a "slap in the face" meanwhile these guest characters, who have really no business being in Mortal Kombat and whose connection are even more paper thin to the universe, "fit in like a glove"? K.

Oh and, why does a guest character necessarily need to fit in anyways?

where do you get your facts
From the Internet polls. Almost every poll including the one TYM did he was at best 9th from what I saw, and I saw a lot of polls. Not one poll in the history of Internet he was a top 5 voted character but if I'm wrong I'd love to see one.

It just floors me that people really think that there's a meeting going on at capcom or nrs where random internet polls are printed out all over the conference table.
I didn't say anything about a company. Like I said, humored him.
It would be ridiculous if that were the case.

So you really believe that at the end of the day, six or . . no, lets go 20 internet polls represents the entire will of the MK fanbase?

Sounds pretty closed minded, man. Take a look at Tanya from MK4/Deception and MK X Tanya. They're nothing alike.

Also, we were never going to get Rain or Noob or Smoke. Rain was deconfirmed by Boon. Also, if you look at the MK Characters they chose for KP1, it was a character that hadn't been in a game since the 3D era, and one who had never been in a fighting game.

We weren't going to get repeat dlc. As far as any of us know, Bo may have a really fun and engaging playstyle.

Which is really the most important thing. If they're fun to play. Look, a lot of people want to treat MK Lore as sacred, but forget that Liu Kang was an intentional Bruce Lee parody, or that before they came up with Johnny Cage, the devs of MK1 wanted to add Jean-Claude Van Damme as a character to the game.

It's not that serious, my dude.

I'm not upset nor am I overjoyed at KP2. What I don't get is that when WB told NRS what guests to put in, why doesn't NRS just offer up an additional 2 or 4 free characters, all of whom can be MK characters, to anyone who purchases KP2?

True, but they have the models and movesets for at least 3 of them that they could add fairly quickly in Rain, Baraka and Sindel.
Yeah, a quite literal reskin is worthy of a spot on the roster.
I'm pretty sure they have to get the right kind of instructors or practitioners or mocap artists to get the job right.
Also, think of BRC as a combination of Jackie Chan and Tony Jaa for a moment.
