Who Are You Looking To Main So Far?

Kenshi, since I always main him. But I'll try everyone to see if there are any better playstyle fits. I tend to try the whole cast in every fighting game I play.

Shang Tsung def. Hope he's got a good gameplan!. Def gonna dabble in Raiden, Johnny and ashrah for sure. Likely try li me too. All the gameplay looks fun so far.

After playing the beta, I'm even more sold on Sub, he's very fun. I have no interest in playing Johnny or Kenshi like I originally thought, good characters, just not for me.

It'll be between Mileena or Reptile as my second character, whoever compliments Sub best. If Mileena's ball roll is a good anti air, she might be my second. Reptile looks too fun to not at least try. Will definitely give Quan and Takeda a try when they come out, should hopefully give me time to at least figure out Sub-Zero and maybe a second.

Base Roster Revealed so far : Jonny Cage is probably the one I am most keen for, I think he may be super competitive as that Star Power thing looks broken af. Baraka also looks lit, but he has been trash in pretty much every game, so lets see if he can be actrually used lol.

Including Kombat Pak 1 Reveal : Quan will be my main for sure from all the stuff shown if I include the KP1. He has been my actual main for most of the modern era.

But it is so hard to say.. Literally everyone looks awesome... apart from Kenshi. I tried him in the beta and I think he is to complex for me. I'll get around to him at some point, but Lee Mei, Wizard Rain, Kung Lao... all will be getting a play in the initial "find my main" time.

Definitely playing Sindel and General Shao... Sindel has been my main every time she has been in the game and Shao Khan was pretty much the only other roster I played for a decent amount of time and dived deep into in mk11.

I'm interested in Havik though... He looks cool, but it will be hard to really get past Queen Sindel.

Have we had OFFICIAL reveals of the entire roster yet.. If now how many are left?

After beta, Li Mei is definitely my main or secondary. Soooo much fun! Raiden is looking amazing too.

Apart from that, I will wait until I can lab characters. I love the girls, so hopefully one it decent!

Aight its down to three finalist who will be my interim main till Ermac gets here. Its down to Rain, Shang and Tanya. I was gonna try smoke but apparently he likes to throw old ladies off of two story buildings.

Ok so.....yeah, they have synergy. I didn't even know the Kombat Kast was today and they're showing Shao Kahn and Motaro together. Incredible.

None of the characters in the beta did it for me. None of the characters shown, other than Scorpion peaked my interest….until Rain. I am blown the hell away by the design and the move set. The endless creativity available with the portals (etc). I am going right into Rain for better or worse.

Baraka, Havik, and Shao are the big ones for me, in that order. I became a massive Baraka enjoyer during MK11, and I hope I mesh with him. Kung Lao and Raiden are also high on the list

Wow... the Kombat Cast 3 : Queen's Court made me VERY happy. Sindel looks broken, General Shao looks hella fun and Rain is a dope ass zoner. I couldn't be happier. It is like a perfect 3 way character kombo to cover 3 fighting archetypes.

Shao as my 2nd, and he is not exactly a grappler, but close.
and Rain filling the zoning option.

Just crazy.

Sindel's kamo steel and cooldown thing is dope.. but lets talk about her "breaker breaker"... you break their breaker, continue a big combo AND you drain 3 bars and start 1 stack on the Kameo timer as those resources stay spent... that is INSANE!

So many characters and none have really felt or looked like the one I'd wanna truly main. Was really starting to get worried I'd have a bad character crisis.

I've seen Sindel and Rain.

My problem has been solved. See you all at launch.

I've always enjoyed Zoner type characters but never truly committed to them aside from Deathstroke and Deadshot in the Injustice games and obviously, Noob Saibot in MK9. So, this "new" Rain should be my kind of character but I just wasn't blown away by his toolset in the stream. Unless Stephanie's execution is just so bad that it wasn't a good demonstration of what the character can do, I'm a little worried. I do love all the cancelable specials and standing-4 being just straight up being his Roundhouse Kick from MK9.

But even with that said, if I can't make Rain work there's so many characters that interest me that will be in this game like Havik, Reptile, Ermac, Quan Chi, Kitana, Sindel, Kenshi, Johnny Cage, and Smoke are characters I've liked a lot in the past.

As for my Kameo pick, I like what we've seen from Sub Zero and Sektor. Cyrax, Kano, Frost, and Jax could be fun, too. I'm looking forward to MK1.

Here’s my updated list that I added to the OP. Also, keep in mind that I WILL be trying every character out. But these are just the characters that look interesting to me that could end up being characters I use a lot. And also, just about the entire roster appeals to me, which has never happened in an NRS game. Last time this happened was all the way back in UMK3 and MKT. So this ends up being more of which characters appeal to me more than others based on where I rank them, lol. It’s silly I know but whatever ¯\(ツ)/¯


My top 3 are the Lin Kuei Legends:
1-Smoke
2-Scorpion
3-Sub-Zero

^ These 3 I’m maining/using no matter what ^

After those 3, these are the next in line:
4-Rain
5-Geras
6-Reptile
7-General Shao
8-Baraka
9-Sindel
10-Ashrah

12-Raiden

So, after the beta, Kenshi is out. To complicated for me.

4.- Tanya (I hope so. I love her, but I'm kinda worried about her Gameplay)

7.- Mileena/Nitara/Reiko. Need to see some Gameplay of then before.

Think youll just need to pair Rain with a kameo that has a move that holds them in place to make use of his roundhouse kick that combos since you gotta hold it down to continue the combo.
