As far as fixing bugs, glitch, infinites, and things like this, patches should come ASAP for these things. Balance patches, however, should come at the very least 6 months from one another. This is good for the developers AND consumers. The players will get to play the same game for awhile without having to relearn the game every other week. We get to find out if something actually IS too good or not good enough and we're able to properly learn the match-ups. But spreading the balance patches out also allows the game to stay fresh for a much longer period of time. If they spread out the balance patches for MK9, the game would have turned out so much better and it would still have a lot of life in the tournament scene. Not to mention patching every other week turns people off of the game because most people don't have the time to relearn the game after every patch. And it also gives you something to look forward to, instead of like it was in MK9 and desperately HOPING NRS would be kind enough to do one last patch.
Waiting at least 6 months for balance patches not only is good for the players, it's good for the developers and the game.
