What's up with the Raven love???

She comes from the most popular run of the teen titans written by Marv Wolfman and George Perez. It's popularity at that time was able to match Uncanny Xmen, which was pretty popular itself. Later the New Teen Titans got an animated show adaption, which landed the teen titans even more popularity. Believe it or not the Teen Titans in general are popular, either if its Nightwing, Beastboy, Starfire, Cyborg, Wally West, Donna Troy, or Raven.

LEGEND

YES!
Im a big fan of the Teen Titans Tv series. She was my second favorite next to Cyborg.

Her nightmares episode was my favorite one because It showed how strong she was.

My question is... Are you really complaining about Raven, a character that played a major role on a popular show?
not you too, maaaaan

But not Jericho. No one liked Jericho lol.

Also my favorite was Robin followed by Raven. Nice that the movie finally had Robin and Starfire kiss and become a couple.

Hes real sore that Raven got in over Nuclear Man from Superman IV. A character that is easily more popular and recognizable than Raven. It just makes no sense.

I would be more concerned with shitty characters like Doomsday and Lobo (at least he is not in the base game) than worrying about Raven being in the game.

Doomsday= generic villain whose only function was destroy Superman's criticisms. Never worked.
Lobo= walking parody. Even his creator knows he is shit and he meant it that way because he was parodying the insane healing factors of Wolverine and PIS of 90s. His creator cannot fathom how he became so popular. I guess people like joke characters as long as they look rebellious.

People want Raven because she was in that stupid Teen Titans cartoon but being the daughter of Trigon gives her room for potential. I didn't want Raven in the game but my expectations dropped after they added Doomsday.

Stupid Teen Titans cartoon? That damn show was great and you all know it.

But really, Raven is probably the best member of the Teen Titans. Her background story and what she has to struggle with makes for a really fun character, and her powers (translated properly) would be awesome in this game.

This thread:
'My favourite character deserves to be in Injustice and yours doesn't!'

Seriously though, she's a decent pick as far as popular DC characters go, mostly because of the cartoon.

Jesus Christ do you have any idea how insane the sales numbers are on The Death of Superman? That book is one of the highest grossing comic books in history! Hell even its novelization did impressive figures! Doomsday being in will draw fans in by the droves. It is seriously one of the first things ANYONE thinks of when you mention Superman. That kind of sales power and name value means he is a solid freaking choice no matter how you liked his writing personally. The dude is friggin' pure money and as popular as it gets period. I got 2 guys working with me to put this game on their radar just because of Doomsday and one other dude by mentioning Bane.

The villain who took out a legend is a big name draw for any fan.

So is X-Force #1 by Liefeld but that doesn't mean it's a good comic by any standard. If anything, it may just be one of the worst ones from that period/alltime.
Also, sales of Action Comics plummeted after Death and Return of Superman due to the cop-out.

I am not 100% familair with raven as I was never a big fan of the Teen Titans show, but what I do know I know from DCUO as she has quite a big storyline with the titans ansd trigon, shes seems like a cool character! Though I do think Dr Fate and Zatanna are more mainstream magic users in the DC universe. Ideally I would like to see all 3!!!!

Most of my favorite characters are in this game. In fact, I have more favorites than least favorites. I hope Doomsday has little to do with story mode and is killed off early in story mode because the story really intrigues me.

People dont quote X Force 1. It wasn't a pivotal moment for any major icon. It didn't draw in people across age boundaries to get into comics or come back to them just because of what was supposed to happen in it's pages. Your argument doesn't hold much merit as a counter point for these reasons. Doomsday had an impact that was unmatched in comic books and still is. Its story was so big it brought folks into comics. Nothing has done this to such a level before or since arguably.

Sorry you don't like Doomsday, but the enormous amount of folks who recognize him and who will buy the game for Doomsday vs Superman out weigh your venom on this one. Its alright though. I hate Grodd and am buying a game that likely has him in it. You can be the guy who hates Doomsday who buys a game with him in it.

Are you kidding me? It established Cable of the X-Men, sent the New Mutants in a different direction and influenced the art style of an entire decade for Marvel and Image.

A prop on the stage of life.
Next Thread title: Why does Juggs want Martian manhunter in Injustice? *I mean seriously, everywhere he posts its "MM this, and MM that"...its just not funny anymore.* (* <-sarcasm beacons) I want her in because she's the closest to Ermac I'm going to get. And when I super someone with her I can do that silly chant. :)

What's up with the Raven love you ask? For my money, I'd say it's because she's the single most rule 34'd superhero ever. The sheer amount of crudely drawn videos of her getting pancaked by the entire Teen Titans cast is absolutely staggering. I don't think it's insane to posit that with in the comic book world, this is both the result and cause of some pretty intense popularity.

The reason to have her in the game would be: she IS popular and her listed powers have lots of potential to be awesome in this game.

Wikipedia said:
Raven is an empath who can teleport and control her "soul-self," which can fight physically, as well as act as Raven's eyes and ears away from her body.
I'd definitely play that chick. I thought she was TK at first but then Wikipedia told me she doesn't like using the power, apparently. So it probably wouldn't play much of a role in her fighting style. Teleporting and the whole "soul self" thing would make a really cool character though.

Love me some teleports.

Power-Girl and Batgirl beat her by a country mile.
N-Not that I'd know or anything.
I didn't even know who Power Girl was until I came back to this site and started seeing her name floated around. I don't even watch cartoon porn (or worse, Teen Titans) and I knew who Raven was.

And no non comic folk get that is what I'm saying. Its not hard to understand.
My mom can tell me who Doomsday is and what he is known for. She can't tell me anything about Cable. Thats how big of a difference the two have in market penetration. My uber Christian conservative, only watches QVC, crazy mother can tell me who Doomsday is. One was on the news and on Oprah and shocked people of all ages for doing what they did to an Icon they grew up with. The other , no matter what they did, didn't have that impact on the world. Doomsday DID.

Doomsday has crazy drawing power at market. He is that big of a force. Can you acknowledge this? Yes or no.

He doesn't. Doomsday essentially destroyed Action Comics' sales and they never peaked that high again. Just because your mother knows of him doesn't mean he's a driving force in the market because I'm sure she never bought any issues involving him.
The point I made earlier though is that just because something sells high doesn't mean its good. X-Force 1 is almost universally agreed to be utter shit and yet 5+Million people bought it and continued to buy it and other Liefeld products like Youngblood.

I don't say this often, but that is completely stupid. He set the record. Everyone knows him. The people who will buy this game to relive the fight between Doomsday and Superman is going to be pretty big out of the casual market. He is seriously in the top 5 list of dudes people ask about in this game when you mention it. Top 2 if you start mentioning the roster to someone on this game with the phrase "Superman is in it."

You are being completely and utterly insolated on this if you really believe Doomsday wont sell. Him vs Superman is one of the top fights in all comic history and its one fans want to play. He's a selling point.
