You know me as RisingShieldBro online.
Anyone else think this should have been made a long time ago?
Bad example, low hat was broken.Hey
No more "nerf low hat",
Lol wut?MK9 zoners were only good bc they had sick pressure up close like... kenshi.
I get what you're saying, and I agree, but that's not really what the thread is getting at.I HIGHLY disagree with this thread.
We should definitely ask for nerfs when something is broken.
I mean let's look at day 1 MK9:
Kung Lao Infinite
Ermac Infinite
Baraka Infinite
Cyrax Infinite
Sonya Infinites
Jax Block Infinite
Kabal EASY Block Infinite
There were probably more but I can't think of them. Would you really say "yeah let's wait 3 months for a patch!" NO WAY.
And Kano was actually pretty dumb when he was buffed, on top of his ball being safe against a majority of the cast, his knives had fucking insane recovery. You could never jump one or you would get AAd by straight or up ball.
Injustice had TERRIBLE balance day 1.
Superman and Black Adam with OP everything
Aquaman having almost no cooldown on trait and an almost safe scoop
Cyborg block infinite
Frost with block infinites/huge damage/etc.
Ares's infinite reset loop (as long as he had bar)
Shazam's 22 hit high, his command grabs had low range, and he had no damage
Catwoman had no good overhead options
DLC:
Batgirl with 2 Infinites
Zod in general:
And Deathstroke was a real problem at the start of the game. Lots of characters had to take insane amounts of chip to get in at all, and once they did, almost nobody had an answer for J3 at the time.
I mean look at DS right now, he's a very solid char that goes even or close to even vs almost all the top tiers, now imagine if his low guns did hella chip and you didn't get a free dash after them / couldn't punish them. We were correct to ask for him to be nerfed. Of course part of the problem was he was nerfed quickly, and Superman/Bladam took they sweet fucking time (and Supes is STILL ridiculous after like 4 nerf patches) so it seemed like he was overly nerfed because he couldn't keep up with the other broken shit.
Honestly if we let either of these games rock for 3 months without a patch, the games would have been dead by then.
His two strings becoming safe on block due to nerfed low hat buffed him more than a safe low hat ever could. IMO.Bad example, low hat was broken.
Mustard pretty much summed up what I was going to say, as I think you missed the point I was getting at.I HIGHLY disagree with this thread.

@General M2DaveThis will never happen. ''these rushdown fools will always cry about zoning''
I keep saying tym and online is filled with casual scrubs that dont understand a game at a high level....First thing I'm doing in MK10 is finding the cheapest spammer and going online and spam my arse off. Gonna spam so much
I see that you are still crying about pre-patch Kano almost three years after he was patched. The best version of Kano might not have been top 10. He would still have lost to the likes of Kabal, Kenshi, Freddy, Smoke, etc.And Kano was actually pretty dumb when he was buffed, on top of his ball being safe against a majority of the cast, his knives had fucking insane recovery. You could never jump one or you would get AAd by straight or up ball.
No. Mostly scrubs are. Pre-hotfix Scorpion was broken. Pre-patch was top 5.People are trying to argue that pre-patch scorpion was fair? lol k
To be fair, MK 2 and UMK3 were tournament viable. Especially UMK3 prior to MK 9 and Injustice. But I do agree that they're do even better now, and MK 10 will most likely be more balanced then MK 9 was. And so long as they don't put in another King Lao or allow Kabal block string frame traps, it should be ok. Preferably no resets either but I'll be surprised if none exist.I honestly think that NRS will give a better fan service this time, they (should) have learned a lot now from MK9 and IGAU being their first truly tournament viable games. They havnt done to bad all in all with IGAU, I know they rushed the patches but they didnt do a bad job with them (cept mmh buff dafuq?). I am optimistic that they'll do the best job of patching they've done to date.
This community has too many scrubs masquerading as high level players and whining nonstop
Mustard looks more metal while Ketchup is more watered down and happy-stonerish.There is in fact a serviceable way to tell them apart but it'd be no fun if I just told you....
It keeps being said, but you shouldn't assume that early changes in NRS games are the direct result of TYM talk.EDIT: Although I do get what you mean about things needing to be changed quickly or people would drop it, I just don't agree with stuff that gets unnecessarily changed too quickly, I'm thinking more MK as the example here as opposed to Injustice really.
-7 upball sounds completely broke.Kano was basically the MK9 equivalent to IGAU Scorpion, an already mediocre character that nobody knew how to fight, and nerfed upon request.
I understand that, but the thread title isn't "Let's not complain about things because they get nerfed", it's more of an overall community attitude thing. It keeps being said, but you shouldn't assume that early changes in NRS games are the direct result of TYM talk.
Paulo already stated that he makes changes when things don't come out the way they were intended to. So if Deathstroke wasn't designed to played with 90% gunshots or Kano wasn't intended to blow people up with just knife spam and upball, then a fix was exactly what was needed.
If something is particularly abusive or is a fun-destroying problem for the vast majority of people that play the game, it'll be changed quickly regardless of what anyone says here.
