It's not just this exclusively, Capcom in general is hype. We have hype don't get me wrong, Capcom games have, hype and insane energy. Clockwork MMs. And everyone in Capcom that is a top player has the balls to do intense money matches.
I mean, it is easy to be hype when the FGC is biased towards capcom and other games and their communities get the short end of the stick. I think capcom is hype too, but other games are just as hype. (Blazblue grand finals this year at evo for example, best grand finals of evo this year easily and the top 8 was amazing too).

i wouldn't say that, 16 bit and Tom brady are two easy ones that come to mind that are outstanding commentators. Also soccer commentators aren't necessarily more exciting lol, that is more speculation. Also you didn't get my statement, of course every game at evo was hype, but no grand finals was as intense as Blazblue and people from different communities will probably tell you that. What I'm saying is, there is nothing that makes any game more hype than another game in the fgc, all games have super hype moments and that is known. What happens with games like ours is they get criticized for not being like capcom games, which is complete BS if u ask me.

i'm using the biggest tournament because A. That's what most people watch and B. You will get some of the best players for a game to showcase high level play (which is beneficial for games that don't get as much attention at other tournaments). I know the grudge match obviously was successful with the trash talk/ hype and etc. Overall, I still think it doesn't help the FGC when other games are just looked down. If you want to really show how hype a game can be, Evo typically does that the best (evo moment #37 is a perfect example of this).
