there is a lot of useful information on here and MK_AI and Espio said it best.Im going to add a little on here too.You will get better as you keep playing while keeping those things in mind. It' won't happen overnight.whether I play online or rarely offline, every match is a learning experience for me.After every tough loss I know what I did wrong from not properly punishing, making careless reads,or not using my tools properly. When you do get better at this game,it will still be tough.Just much easier than when you first started.I'd like to add one more thing.Keep your composure.Majority of the cast have setups and shenanigans that we try our best to avoid. No matter how much you want to stray away from them,it's bound to happen.you're gonna get caught in Johnny's f3 shenanigans, cyrax 70% reset,Kabal(that's all I need to say),scorpion's vortex, quan chi's rune trap, running for your life from Kung Lao,Lui Kang and Smoke juggling you from one end of the stage to the other, annoying Raidens, and many more.So don't get discouraged when you experience all this even when do feel as if you've gotten much better.Just keep your composure and remember,it's just a game.I have a full time job and a college student myself but I still make it to tournaments but I just like to compete.Im ok when I don't place top 8.But it was fun and I enjoy competing with people who are equally on my level and people who are worlds beyond my level. This game can be really frustrating at times ranging from the mechanics, character development,or what you opponent is doing.I don't get frustrated a lot but when I do,I never take it out on my opponent.Online is terrible sometimes but it's good for matchup experience when you have no offline scene.People still do setups and crazy resets on there and you don't want to go to a tournament and experience something for the first time because nobody wants to travel 500 miles and go 0-2 to something they never seen before.I play online a lot but I know what to expect and how to deal with what every character is capable of when I do make it to tournaments.
