I don't see the debate , FV should be awarded points based on turnout and degree of difficulty. I would like to see a good rationale as to why they don't qualify. I'm not buying the "locals" thing either. They've been hyping up this tournament for months now. It stands on its own.

That match was hype. Same with mine vs CDJr. Both our matches were so hype and down to the wire. It could of went either way. And insuperable come back was amazing.

I don't really know what to say to either camp...I think both tourneys were exciting and had great matches. PU may not have had VSM but the guys that showed up seriously made it worth watching...and same goes for the competitors at FV....it's obvious...BOTH should get points....stupid system is a stupid system.

The grand prize for EGP goes up to about $1000. Monthly. And is a regional tournament.

Honestly, if FV is a monthly and is just as big as EGP, there should be a system where both of these events get Evo seeding points somehow. WNF here in SoCal gets them, and both EGP and FV are apparently big regionals, so I don't see why not.

Also, people seriously need to cut the, "This had more comp, so the legitimacy of it goes up" mentality. Power Up had great competition, as did FV. Just be happy that we have huge tournaments like these. I remember a time when the MK community didn't even exist in the FGC.

Also, as far as EGP regionals. These are the past ones.

1. EGP: Arkade Kombat
2. EGP: Redemption
3. EGP: Redemption 2 Reloaded - This one will take place this Saturday, so make sure you check out Twitch.Tv/EpicGP

This is great for MK imo. 3 huge events in 1 week with great turnouts.

Both tournaments had excellent players with great matches guys. Fuck the points, value the tournament players and their performance, period.

I think deciding was very easy for the community once the Grand Prize was put in place and when top players committed to travel.. lets be real, this so called regional was different. It just was..

"it just was" isn't a compelling arguement.

It's not so much FV shouldn't count, it's explaining why other regionals shouldn't but this one should. If you think other big regionals should then that makes sense. If not and FV should be an exception you must make a case beyond "we just know". Would FV count if only 2 out of the 3 bros were there? The number of former top 8 placers?

I wonder how many people realize this list is completely arbitrary. Maybe the fact that the list looks neat and organized and it has it's own site makes people believe it is law. It's almost identical to the online ranking leaderboards. They have no bearing on anything, they affect nothing. Only unless you let it affect you by worrying about it.

It's cool to have a list like this. Yeah, it's cool, you know... neat. But that's where it should end. The only reason some players like it is because it makes you feel like you matter in some way. The problem is when you start taking the list seriously, thinking it makes you matter in the community, you ostracize every single top player that isn't on that list.

Top 8 for 24 man would be ridiculous, true, but PU had more. The 28 number is from the pre-reg. I'm not sure of the exact number but I got a bye then won 3 for winners top 8.

Are we sure this is why it's not counted? On the podcast he said it would.

I wouldn't consider Salty Battles tournies as majors despite the fact that they had the VSM guys. But even if VSM hadn't gone to FV, the tourney woudl still have had SwiftTomHanks, Death, Blackula, and other very good players from the area (so a regional). Then you add the VSM guys and it becomes much more than a regional. I'm not really upset over it not being a major, but I think it deserves that recognition.

a man who most likely does not even own the overall game still handles to obtain second place in a major....
