Johnny looks like a CAW from the smackdown vs raw era wwe games. Hope he has some classic inspired costumes other than the bloodsport one.
Any gag reflux from the NRS deep throat?TBH I thought I saw some pretty bad takes in the leak thread but GAHT DAYUM.
I really don't like Edenia being removed.
Maybe this IS the great kung lao. People are saying radian, kang swap.. But that's a bad read. Kung Loa will be the campaign of earth realm. I think anyway.. So as it is the "beginning" he could be The Great Kung Loa.So wtf happened to the great kung lao after the end of mk11? Guess they skipped that era again huh?
What is more shocking is that Liu Kang decides to do it when Outworld has always been the aggressors invading other realms. If he wants peace, then Outworld should be the one removed and Edenia will retain it's former glory.I really don't like Edenia being removed.
Absolutely not, I can go all night baby!Any gag reflux from the NRS deep throat?
Kitana and Mileena's bios refer to their home realms as Outworld and there's Ed Boon saying that "Outworld is pretty now".Why do people think Edenia is removed?(thread is to long)
Im still wondering if there even will be a tournament. Liu saying "there are more champions I must gather" in the gameplay trailer implies that hes recruiting for something big.-Going back to a high-scale threat vs "new tournament" was the right choice by far. Minimizing the scale after MK11 would have felt like a downgrade.

Ehhh not so much in MK9 imo.Goro, Kintaro, Motaro, and Shao Khan were all built up so well in the original era's, and even done well in mk9.
That era has been reset. The current Kung Lao we're about to meet is The Great Kung Lao, except he didn't compete in an old tournament, because they didn't happen. He's competing now, in the soon-to-be released game. That's my assumption anyway. So wtf happened to the great kung lao after the end of mk11? Guess they skipped that era again huh?
Wasn't Great Kung Lao alive 500 years ago? That era has been reset. The current Kung Lao we're about to meet is The Great Kung Lao, except he didn't compete in an old tournament, because they didn't happen. He's competing now, in the soon-to-be released game. That's my assumption anyway.
Well, about that...Changing characters roles and histories for the sake of novelty is awful storytelling, tbh. I will likely enjoy the game in spite of it, but how hard is it to write a sequence of events without backtracking, retconning, and generally making a convoluted mess of things?
Keep in mind the modern timeline lasted about a decade. I'm not a fan of reboots either, but that is a good amount of time, at least.I wish NRS had some balls like Midway. It just seems like reboot timeline after reboot timeline.
My expectation of who the main antagonist will be.... or an entirely new character.
I'm not so sure. Liu is aware of Onaga. His in-game dialogue with Cetrion confirms it.View attachment 19521
I think we can safely rule out Shang Tsung, Shinnok, Shao Kahn and Kronika as the final bosses of this game, since the boss is someone Liu Kang never expected or encountered in the past.
Final boss is either Onaga
Yes, that one was during those aborted timelines. But this version is a current edition. He can be The Great Kung Lao but...today.Wasn't Great Kung Lao alive 500 years ago?
I think it's safe to consider that dialogue non-canon.I'm not so sure. Liu is aware of Onaga. His in-game dialogue with Cetrion confirms it.
The Great Kung Lao has always been depicted as a bald monk without the signature hat of present time's Kung Lao. Also the voice actor is the same from MK11 so its not Great Lao.That era has been reset. The current Kung Lao we're about to meet is The Great Kung Lao, except he didn't compete in an old tournament, because they didn't happen. He's competing now, in the soon-to-be released game. I don't think the story of the Dragon King is supposed to be forgotten by the White Lotus, so yes, he's probably aware of him.I think it's safe to consider that dialogue non-canon.
I am giving Dom a lot of credit here, but it may be that Liu never encountered Onaga and considers him a 'deactivated' asset or something. Like a dormant volcano that isn't waking up anytime soon. So he may be ignoring him.I don't think the story of the Dragon King is supposed to be forgotten by the White Lotus, so yes, he's probably aware of him.
