Well think about it from the other side. If someone doesn't like you because they are too sensitive when challenged in a discussion of a character that they don't even play, take it personal, so much so to where they create propaganda by altering your posts and cherry picking what to present knowing you already corrected a mistake for the sole purpose of discrediting you, while disregarding all what you were actually correct about, would you not be "critical" in your response to them?

It's a good question, sir, these are my findings:


In the video, you can see that I (as D'vorah) cannot in fact block after the lighting ball hits me as I stumble into the trap, and I would only be able to do so if I was spaced out enough to where the full hitstun of lightning ball would end as I hit the trap. I too was initially confused by the term 'autoblock', but I believe it to mean the state where despite still being in hitstun, a player can hold block and still block a follow-up attack that hits even in hitstun. Reptile's Acid Spit also recieved this change, and the video accurately reflects what was shown on the initial NRS stream regarding 'autoblock'

You play Raiden more than me for sure, can you think of any scenarios where lightning ball would hit and then the player would need to immediately block in Thunder God? I couldn't find any because of the recovery of the projectile, but I would always like more data to go by. Thanks!

Got so hype for that too . . . Then so much disappointment. Basically my experience with MoS Raiden and even more so with NRS. :(
It's a good question, sir, these are my findings:

The first one of these was great but this one failed for a number of reasons. Half the time no one knows what happened after a patch because of changes that werent listed.

That would actually be in line with the original meaning, I think. As far as I can tell, 'autoblock' is the term for making moves link after each other on hit, something that is atypical for NRS games. Reptile's invisiblity and noxious were buffed in patches to make it so you can link attacks after those moves on hit, same with Sub's ice aura. These projectile attacks were changed because...I'm not sure. This seems like one of those quality of life things.

In game frame data says Raiden fireball is +9. F1 is 6f startup. Easy 3f link? Nope, no one can get it to work which I think is a big part of the reason everyone thinks that part of the patch notes didn't actually happen.

If they changed getting hit after lightning ball, it was probably in an earlier frame then anything raiden can reliably do. This kind of thing should be stated in patch notes and also begs the question of "why?". No way anyone gets hit with lightning ball into MoS orb trap. Not ever happening. No added quality to my life.

Yeah, what I'm thinking is that there was a universal change regarding projectiles of two different types hitting (Quan Chi, etc.) and not comboing, so they fixed it, and then Reptile and Raiden were next. But the term 'autoblock' is used here in a different sense then when Sub and Reptile hit you with a move 2-in-1'd into a special...hmm. I'll concede my friend, I was confused and you lit me up with that one. I appreciate the lesson!

As far as the why, I think it's just a universal change thing for fireballs, and the linking after a special thing is a whole 'nother thing altogether.

What I assume that means is that there's no longer autoblock within the active frames of the move... So when Raiden is, for example, hitting you into the MoS lightning trap, the trap is hitting you before Raiden has recovered from the move. Whereas before it would autoblock anything it forces the character into regardless. Lemme try to explain what I mean better. With Raiden's projectile, the recovery for both of you has ended when you're trying to link, you're just at an advantage. It's the same for pretty much any move with hit advantage. Lots of normals in this game give a lot of hit advantage but don't allow you to link. But it would be dumb if, for example, Reptile was doing a normal and the opponent gets hit by an acid ball, but they're able to autoblock within the recovery of the attack before Reptile even would.

It's basically changing Raiden's lightning ball so that's no longer the case, even though it's not a common scenario because his projectile doesn't create those situations often. With the "buff" moves for Sub and Reptile, you're hitting them before both of you have recovered from the special it's cancelled from. So the property, for Deceptive Reptile AND Raiden, is that they're now able to be hit within the frames of the move or the move it's cancelled from, regardless of what the advantage is AFTER the move's recovery.

First of all thanks for the find!! So.. i found that you can do about 2 characters away ex bolt stop run jump over ji1, b1,projectile and it connects for 42-43% but its way situational and you can sacrifice damage to send the ball behind them for example 213, f2 , f2, b11 ex bolt(if they dont roll) stop behind them! also i thought the grab will be a good set up but has auto block lol

... Why would you quote the Jacqui post that has 100% true information?

Also worth mentioning, the patch messed with both regular and ex up rockets but only one of them is mentioned in the patch notes. So yes, not all of Jacqui's changes were listed in the notes.
And something with Low Rocket was changed in the previous patch, as B2~DB3 in FA is more inconsistent than ever, and does not even work AT ALL against certain characters, and the Low Rocket whiffs on all character when doing this combo from specific ranges. This was one of her only safe meterless options midscreen off her OH, it used to be 100% consistent. Seems the blast radius was changed [this was never mentioned].

Hey, you guys should front page the "Should there be anger at the netcode" topic. Just kidding... that's not important at all.
