UMK3 Tournament at ECC-EVO in Stamford, CT May 25-27

My friend and I love roadtrips on Weekends. CT is a major stretch.. but eh. If there's no hardcore shows down here, we might be crazy enough to go.

Whats going on with us and the entry fee and shit? Do we have to pay for that, since your gonna organize it? I need info ASAP, personally. Trying to get my friends to come might make it more difficult hehe.

Any word from phi yet? I read about that casual room for all players, does that mean my buddies would have to pay 10$ to play in the rooms with all the consoles setup?

Get that info shock, I'm gonna keep bothering ya till ya doit :p

aight brother man... Wish it was easier to get my arcade machine there I'd seriously bring it down so we could play on it instead of the 360 :(

EVO is console only, I don't know if it'd matter for us though lol

oh is it really... that explains why I never see anyone at an arcade machine. Since we're not super official though, console doesnt really matter I guess. Does everyone at EVO have to use sticks too in the other games?

HaHaHa, that would be dope as hell if you brought an arcade machine. You guys would be slappin on the control panel and those dudes would be looking over while they have their little consoles and doe eyes :shock:

I believe EVO is pretty liberal with what controllers you can use. If I can make it I'm planning on having a keyboard shaped PSX controller for casuals :twisted:

I just emailed DreadedFist with the info on making the stick for the tournament. I asked for a Guide Button, Start Button and some way of plugging in headphones. He says he'll be able to put a jack inside the box but you'd have to open the bottom of it or something to use it, no big deal, at least you'd be able to use headphones. Once I get this out of the way I'll send him back my stick to have him convert it in a similar manner and check out why there is intermittent contact on some buttons. I'll talk to Dreemer about the artwork, I'm thinking something like what he's done on the site here, the logo across the top, with the Dragon curved around the stick part, maybe have the tail wind around the button area, with red buttons.

that stick you're talking about will be the tournament prize? :eek: nice!

i would think it would just be easier to use a wireless mic with the stick for the fact you wouldn't have to open up your box everytime u wish to unplug and plug in a mic, also how much will this be costing you i'd gladly pitchi in some cash

DreadedFist said he's going to try and get a spot to plug in the headset normally, it should be good to go.

Phi says anyone who is coming only for UMK3 doesn't have to sign up for EVO itself, so basically just pay the entry fee for UMK3 which will be $5, $7 if we somehow get a lot more.

The 360 stick is going to cost $160 including $15 shipping, converting mine will cost $75 (for board, conversion, and shipping back), plus I have to send it out to him as well.

Alright well hopefully more people come out other than just the list so far... I would really expect more people for an even like this that are avid with 2-D fighting games.


COME OUT PEOPLE IT WILL BE FUN AT THE VERY LEAST!!!
