UMK3 and MKII Summer Jam in Philadelphia, PA August 14th and 15th

UltimateMK.com will be hosting UMK3, and possibly MKII tournaments at Summer Jam this year. Mostly like MKII will take place on Saturday as a free side game (or at most a $3 entry fee), and if we have time, maybe a free PSX MK Trilogy Tournament, but that's just an afterthought for now. Big thanks to Big E, who invites to all the majors he runs and we try to be there as often as we can to ensure a smooth tournament with all the necessary tools is possible for the dedicated players who turn out.

UMK3 will be hosted on Sunday and at the very least the top 3 will be streamed. I'm hoping we can get the semis for at least the losers streamed as well, but we'll take the Winners Losers and Grand Finals. It will be played on MAME, and projected on our own smaller setup (50" on the wall) for casuals if there there is room, otherwise, it'll be run on a TV.

We will supply at least 5 different dedicated UMK3 arcade sticks based on our personal inventory, and at least 2 PSX gamepads. Remember, gamepads are very annoying to configure over and over in MAME when someone wants their shoulder buttons a certain way, so please be prepared to play on a specific configuration. We will try to get that squared away if possible early on, so if you have a specific gamepad you wish to play on that you will use for other games, we will need to configure it and make an additional setup for you. It might be best to try what we supply first and see if it works for you.

i give the edge to joe , joe just has the magic #, shock is clearly the more skilled player with almost every character but joe can edge him out

I agree here. Though I think both Simon and Shock are technically better players than Joe. What Joe has is years and years of tournament experience and being under the watchful eye of the crowd and the pressure of the match only seems to make him play better. He also seems to have remarkable fighting game instincts in general.
It cant last forever though. I think Joe only plays UMK3 at the tourneys we bring it to. He isnt practicing the way Shock and Simon are these days. The more tournies we get UMK3 streamed at and the more hype builds, Simon and Shock will get used to it and not get nervous. Then they will run train on Joe.

again I disagree, Joe has years of high pressure matches, he will no matter how much he doesnt pratice always be in the top 3 of all umk3 touraments he just has the spark , ive been playing people for 20 years , i never seen anyone bring it like him time and time again

it does suck though he doesnt play and we play like crazy lol , but he has an edge , and edge that id say only shock is the closest one to beating him ( amongst our team anyways). When shock beats joe he has to make big adjustments, joe on the other hand just plays the same style. Adjustments that i do not think any of us besides shock can make on the fly

this one reason is why i think , simon , rob , phil and I would have to step up big time somehow to take on that style , I just dont see that happening soon he just stays at the top level and we have to work to get inches better

its not so much hes a better player hes the better situational player

I will say 13 or 14 are 100%. If all 18 show up on the list, I believe we'll definitely have more than 20. I will ask Tom Brady to play, Jeron, and others but so far no word from them from what I've seen. There are some other players I'd like to see there, anyone hear anything from RichardEd?
