Fair warning ranked sets people do like 50
Ultimates then teabag you. Hopefully you have played enough halo to not get triggered by that
Yesterday a guy picked same character as me in exhibition after beating me then continued to do double ultras into taunt every game so i was like ok dude bye now. I figured ppl only would do that in ranked but i forgot toxic ppl are everywhere :D

See, the thing for me is, playing against online randoms, they're just that: randoms. I don't get mad at them, even for stupid stuff, because why would I let them have that power over me. What they're doing doesn't matter, unless I let it.

For me, if I'm going to get mad at someone, I'll get mad at myself for mistakes I know I'm making, for falling for things I know I shouldn't be falling for, etc. That's stuff that's all on me anyway.

Ggs hellbringer today! Mans shadow counter /breaker game is on point. I tried going online outside of you guys yesterday and i was immediately annoyed. Not by the fact that people were doing like triple quadruple ultras on me if I lost, but more the fact that they swapped characters every game lol. I haven’t played this game but for like a week outside of several years ago and it makes it real hard to learn matchups when people just swap 10 characters in 10 matches hahaha. Guess I should just buy season three and lab everyone before I go online again.

But again, how could he Ultra you three times when, as I understand the actual mechanics of the game, it can only be cancelled once and you need a full Instinct Metre to do it? I'm actually curious as to how this is possible?
Anyone with a recapture (restand) component in their kit can do up to I think 3 ultras back to back if they want. It's weird and silly but it's a thing.
Using Instinct during an Ultra cancels it, allowing you to continue comboing and start another Ultra. I can't exactly remember all the specifics.

That was a sarcastic number. Had a sabre Wulf juggle me throughout both lifebars and ultra combo me like 3 times
(meant ultra not ultimate)
And that is why I'm so salty about combo assist lol. You should NOT be able to do such a thing!
Has nothing to do with combo assist, please stop blaming things on it. We've been over this already.

People are just like this. A while back I decided to hop back into SFIV and I used to play Viper so I was taking her out for a spin trying to remember how to play her.
Encounter some opponent, they pick whatever, we fight, I did okayish, kinda clumsy but starting to remember the cool shit.
Next fight he also hops on Viper and suddenly I'm just styled on super hard by this obviously experienced Viper player.
Felt like he was just doing it as a "oh so you think you can play this character? We'll see about that".

Some people just cannot resist the opportunity to flex.

Yeah I think it goes:
Full Ultra into big launch > Recapture into new combo > 2nd Ultra > Instinct Cancel before the big launch > combo into 3rd Ultra > End
Characters without recapture just get 2 Ultras max.

And just to be extra clear, it's literally never the combo assist. Spit that placebo out, man.
Orr I can rage lots and get mad at the dumbest things.? Sometimes, ya just gotta rage

My concern for your perceptions of Combo Assist is that the way you view it, you seem to have it set up as a mental block, which is the kind of thing that prevents one from improving themselves.

Don't mistake me, I'm not insulting you or trying to put you down, I'm pointing out a trend I've noticed with your criticisms of the tool.

What would be great for you would be to really analyze the tool, learn how it works, learn what it does, and more to the point, learn how to overcome it. This will also help you to see what other areas of the game you can improve at that are unrelated to Combo Assist.

This isnt right bro. I have tried to recapture adn they just fall out. Also seriously I played a cinder few days ago who did like 3 or 4 ( cant remember but was at least 3) ultras on me.

Out of curiousity do they allow combo assists in the pro scene? Its not like other games where the combo assist allows you to complete difficult combos by hitting a button or two. I don't use it because don't really care for it but doesn't seem like it helps you much anyway.

Yes, Combo Assist is permitted in the professional scene, though it's rarely used because at that level, it's limitations hurt more.

In Killer Instinct, all it does is:

  • Removes the need to perform directional inputs for cancelled Special Moves in the Combo System
  • Permit the Player to do an Ultra Combo simply by pressing Forward and the three Punch or Kick buttons, depending on the Character
  • Allows the Player to perform two specific Enders in the Combo System by holding Forward and pressing Heavy Punch or Kick
  • Prevents the player from using their character's Combo Trait unless they hold "Back"
  • Makes a player's Combos a bit more predictable since it tends to use a specific set of Special Moves
Overall, the major thing it does is help prevent the Player from dropping their Combo during the Combo Sequence. A professional player rarely drops anyway, and instant access to their Character's Combo Trait is of more benefit to them.

Honestly, I do this a lot, but it is usually to show an "obviously" inexperience player what they can/should be doing. Not in KI though (lol!) I usually get demolished in KI...though I love the game thoroughly.
