Would you settle for me sausage?
With the three variations being robot Sektor, Smoke and Cyrax, I can't help bit think there will be a human character skin, with this "Enenra" being taking smoke's place, especially if this character is non canon.

Apparently this Triborg only steal their power and look. He has his own mindset and I don't expect each variation to has its own characteristic.

Bring back MK3 robot sounds!! :D
This :uis mandatory!
It might also be the Cyber Smoke from the original timeline, who somehow ended up in this new timeline ( his Armageddon ending implies that his nano bot technology can assimilate other beings).
Or if I remember correctly from the comics ,during the time of the first chapter in the mkx story mode when Shinnok is trapped in his medallion, the Ling Kuei are still cyborgs and are controlled by Sektor. So after Johnny knocked out Enenra in the EarthRealm, he could have been picked up by the cyber Ling Kuei, who could transform him into a cyborg before Sub-Zero had a chance to destroy them.
What a great idea, this needs to happen. Maybe Sektor save a copy of his "data" (mind/spirit/whatever) somewhere in case his current body is destroyed (think of Total Recall or something like that), then when he dies the new body (the grey one) awakes, look for his old head to recover whatever data is left to gather, then goes for Cyrax head (already dead in the comics) and for Smoke's data later. Or maybe the grey cyborg is Cyber Smoke that, as you said, gets cyberized after losing to Cage, and somehow nobody knew of his cyberization.

I hope I'm wrong, but the more I think about it, the more I'm convinced Tri-Borg will be some kind of pseudo-canon but ultimately not relevant at all cyborg counterpart to Chameleon and Khameleon (both having abilities from palette swappers, which the cyborgs were too).

Still hoping there is something interesting in his backstory, like a backup plan of Sektor before he was destroyed or something that makes sense.

So, my guess is, Teleport Uppercut will be universal among Smoke and Sektor.
Cyrax will have bombs, exploding tele, and the net.
Smoke will have harpoon and invincibility, probably smoke away and smoke in, shake.
Sekter will have Missile, double missile, Hidden Missile, homming missile, flame thrower, Jedi swords?

Heart From Iron, Mind From Steel.
I'm thinking same inputs do different but similar things.

Like

DB2(Close, Medium and Far) = Smoke Bomb/Sektor Up Missile/Cyrax Bombs

BF4 = Smoke MK9 Teleport/Sektor Teleport Uppercut/Cyrax Dismantling Teleport

BF1 = Smoke Harpoon/Sektor Straight Missile/Cyrax Net

Or something of the sort with mostly universal normals and strings.

Looks to me the Smoke variation has a different teleport. At least that's what I noticed...

Smoke seems to have that teleport punch move in a quickshot at around 1:31

Let's all cry tears of joy now that it's confirmed that they are all actually seperate and not one borg switching between modes.

They aren't separate, they can occupy one body as well as create 3 at the same time, but you can see in their intro that they still fuse into one Triborg )

Fusing isn't the same as being one thing, it just means you turn INTO one thing.

for example if you've ever watched Dragon Ball Z, Trunks and Goten often fuse into Gotenks, they don't cease to exist as individuals however.

Now what I'm wondering is if the three borgs have a hive mind and if so how strong is it.

That's what I was implying, as a new character Triborg is some sort of the hive mind of the three. We still have to see whether their separate personalities work independently or the hive mind prevails.
So far we can only say that Triborg can occupy 3 bodies at once as well as fuse into one composite one.

It doesn't fuse into a composite, it seemingly stores the other two into any of the one.

Composite implies it fuses in a way in which it combines the elements of its pieces into one thing(like the previously mentioned Gotenks) which isn't the case as each of the three have different movesets.

A composite would be if it were yellow, red, and grey and shot bombs, missiles and smoke at the same time.

We won't know if tri can actually do that for sure because of the variation system. I mean Quan Chi can probably do the armor spell around himself as well as Summon Puggles, make his tattoos glow purple and have Warlocks green skeleton hands on his back. It is just a game mechanic that allows him have certain attributes / specials / normals only in one variation. So it might work the same way for Tri as a character. In MK lore he might be able to throw bombs, rockets and nets at the same time from the same body's chest, but do to the variation system he will only use physical attributes and attacks which fit the chosen variation.
