Top 3 Rushdown & Zoners?

Dude Martian Manhunter puts an orb up in front of you and then he pulls down from the sky a projectile that stuffs your jump. You dont get past that easily and he can set that up on top of you after every knockdown or moment of hesitation. He can setup the orb as a proximity mine as well and his trait + force push are great for pushing you back out into this mess and he's got other shit as well.

Its not exactly bullets flying horizontally like Zod or sinestro but that is one helluva Zoning game right there.

Here's Team Spooky breaking down a match Reo had that showcased a lot of it.

Nah his orbs have a horrendous front hit box and are easy as shit to dash through. You make one bad read on a pillar and they're in your face

Doomsday has a stronger footsie/poking game, but Flash has a far superior rushdown game. It's not even close, imo.
DD has really good rushdown game if you combine his trait, dash, MB Venom and his ability to put his opponent in the corner in no time. He cant, literally cant be stopped if he is played correctly. Flash relies more on whiff punish and punishing in general, but i get what you mean. Flash is a top contender for sure.

I think MB Venom is the single best tool for 'getting in' in this game. But Flash's tools for getting in aren't much worse either. Flash's forward dash d1 is faster and harder to react to than DD's. Add in the fact that Flash sets up damaging 50/50s just by making the opponent block j1, and the fact that opponents cannot simply react to the duo threat of a dash in or jump in, and the result is a character who rarely has a problem getting in, even when there are no whiffs to punish.

Furthermore 'getting in' is just one part of the rushdown equation. Being able to capitalise once you're in, staying in and maximising damage opportunities are all also important.

I think we all agree that once he's in, Flash does a better job of creating opportunities to do damage, and maximising his damage, so I won't belabour the point.

But yeah, I think the bottomline intuition for me is this- I've played DD since Day 1 and I've played Flash for over a month, and I can say for sure, that when I play DD I need to make many more correct decisions when it comes to getting in and maintaining pressure. With flash, I make one or two right decisions and the power of the character takes over. Maybe my intuition will change if my opponents develop more anti flash tech, but I don't see that happening right now.

rush down

dd
bats / man / girl
shazam - i dont really know, superior j1, tele, safe psycho crusher?

zone
superman - heatzap! that chip damage, can be used mid combos, air ground lasers, mb mixups! pushes you back at the end of screen, pushes you on block, covers most of the ground, perfect for zoning guys with instant ground projectiles like nwing aquaman kf deathstroke? zod etc...
sinestro
deathstroke - a smart ds for me is really deadly

idk maybe zod can outzone certain characters, characters without instant projectiles, but against like i said those with instant projectiles, his only option is the fast pistols, and air balls, which can also be punished by trident deep, nwing staff, etc etc

Are you R 3 C K 3 D or however it's put on XBL? If so, I think we played last night and you sent me a message saying, "He looks so hard to play..." or something along those lines.

Not trying to start anything with you, just curious if you're both the same person. :p If so, good game. :D

"Top" and "Zoner" should not be used in the same sentence in this game. Too many good anti-zoners.

That being said my top 5 zoners are:
1. Zod
2. Cyborg
3. Raven.
4. Sinestro
5. MMH

The zoners, who also have good anti-zoning tools (like MMH), are the best all around in versatility

How does banes dash cancels work exactly?
His f2 has a wind up that gives a short amount of time to input down to change what normal comes out(it can also be done instantly to get the move to come out as quick as possible). The wind up is also dash cancelable so you can hold f2 then forward dash or backdash out of the normal. f2 is the normal that gets armor and immunity when he is at level 3

ah, seems kinda situational, won't happen that often.

I agree that using the move to get through zoning is most definitely situational, and in many cases just block dashing is obviously the better choice. However I do feel that the move itself should play a bigger part in banes game, and the dash cancel is useful for more than just zoning.
