I hatelove this game
50/50s are not the only kind of pressure...
Really? Dude. I know this
ok I will take her into training mode and learn, thanks. I got beat by a tanya last tournament when I was using Quan. Is the matchup still in her favor even with his 6f d1?
Not sure
It's not that easy though, on paper maybe but she can stagger her strings as well. They're great options. I'm not saying it's unblockable I'm just saying it's good mixups in her already safe pressure game. This is why I think she's #1
It is decent pressure. Very good in fact. But it's not on the same level as Cassie, devorah, Quan, and many others. Just my opinion. The only way she opens you up is you didn't fuzzy her fuzzyable strings. Or she goes for an unsafe 60/50 or she throws you.

To me she is top 10 material. Nothing more. Probably not even top 5

I don't think Raiden is top 10 anymore. D'Vorah and Liu for sure... sonya is borderline.
Nah Raiden's still crazy, and he got buffs in the patch (LMAO Displacer is dumb).

Sure he got hit hard by the OS nerf, but that was always expected. He might not be top 5, which he was pre-patch, but I can still see him being top 10.

Lol shinnok overrated. He's basically the same. The absolute only difference is you can armor out of the reset
He's not "basically the same". His damage and chip pressure was nerfed, which the guaranteed pressure is one reason he was considered "broken". He used to get like 42% off one bar, now it's back down to 30% for one bar. He's still good, but he's not the same character at all.

Agreed. He needs something to compensate for the removal of OS and F1 being High. His normal game suffered a lot after those two nerfs, he now struggles to open up the opponent and get that all important first hit. With that said though, the latest patch and hotfix changed the game a TON, so we need some time to digest those changes and let the game evolve.
Remove the gap in f1,2,b2 for dis/mos. Adjust b11 hitbox again
F1,2 connects on Ex vicinity blast
Orbs stun on impact. Boom Raiden is complete

It's not a 50/50. The b1 overhead is on the second hit of the string. If you block ALWAYS in this sequence every time she starts a new string you will NEVER get caught with the low or the overhead.

Low high low
B3
B1
B1d2

Everything else is mid
She can also stagger them. Throw. She also has both a low and overhead special. The low she can combo off, albeit unsafely. This character is ridiculous man. If the mixups were as easy as just blocking in a certain pattern than you wouldn't see People getting hit by the low and throws in tourney.

Until teleport can get out of gaps in strings like MK9... I don't really get how to use it since it's got so much recovery. So that's why I put him out of top 10.

No there's a good amount of differences. Shinnok is still good, for sure. But he's more linear now (he was already pretty linear before) and his beam is slower, his resets are never guaranteed, and you can backdash a lot of his stuff now.
False. Beam startup is the same and you cannot back dash any of his resets or spark pressure since the second part of the string will catch you and you will be right back where you started

B1, 1 hitbox needs to be fixed. That's not an issue of buffing or nerfing, it's simply a bug that NRS needs to fix. No questions asked.

I like the F1, 2 connecting after EX Vicinity Blast idea. That would achieve two goals: 1) it would make his Vicinity Blast more useful and more importantly, 2) it would give him a chance to open up opponents and go into his 50/50 mix-ups and corner game.

I would be ok with either removing the gap in the f1, 2, b2 string or Orbs in MoS variation stunning on impact, but I don't know about both at the same time. That might be too much.

No, you can backdash if you have a decent backdash. And you can always armor. He can't even guarantee a blockstring off of blocked hellsparks anymore.

Honest question: Why are people saying Liu Kang is top 10 but not Johnny Cage? Johnny is way more + on a lot of his cancels after the patch. I'm not arguing. I'm genuinely confused.
i think Johnny another 3-4 months and he'll rise in the rankings

She does have 50/50s though. She has b1 2+4, or b31. Also b1d2 which I believe is a hard knockdown. Yes her tele cancels are less plus but they are still plus and the meter she builds off her pressure gives her almost constant pressure.
That is not a 50/50, wtf are you talking about.

Her tele cancels are like neutral or +1 at best now, there's really no reason to use them as they end her pressure.

I still think she's top 5 but lets not go spreading misinformation please.

Edit: Her mixup game relies almost entirely on rekkas and throws now. Thats not a bad thing, because those are great. Its just not the same as a 50/50. Id rather have Tanya pressure than an unsafe 50/50.

Most of these votes are just dumb. Biased by the tym mainstream. See what others have said and jump the bandwaggon. My opinion:

1.) Jax: all these hitbox fixes help him a lot. He has everything now: decent midscreen combos, a great corner game, outstanding mixups, decent zoning and superior footsie tools. I just don't see any character that can beat Jax at this Point. No losing matchup.
2.) Reptile: It will take a while until someone manages to keep the offense going while being invisible (without confusing himself). However you cannot block what you cannot see. Combined with his underrated zoning, Reptile now is top 5 material.
3.) Kung Lao: He was dumb and he still is to some degree.
4.) Takeda: His gameplan never fails --> Press anything, see what happens, continue combo. More stupid after the patch than ever before.
5.) Predator: His high does hurt but it hurts hunter the least (contrary to popular belief), so his best variation is still top 5 (and still dumb).

Overrated: Tanya (teleport is not a great footsie tool anymore), Quan Chi* (his d1 is pointless), Erron Black (Gunslinger has become a decent zoner, but still not top 5 material without an armored combostarter), Cassie* (damage nerfs do matter).

The Problem with being a troll is, that people won't take you for serious even when you are. Not saying that I am though. But still, this is a problem. Especially when the no. 1 spot for Jax is so obviously true. Poor me! #nerf Takeda

Spammer. Crouch walk hater.
I like how most people somehow still think invisible reptile is very good, yet since the dawn of invisibility there has yet to be someone to prove it. You cannot block what you cannot see? Really? It's still a 50-50 and then you poke back and the invisibility is gone.

Let me set the record straight, to be clear: you will N-E-V-E-R see deceptive reptile mopping the floor with anything or anyone, during the entire lifespan of this game, in any decent tourney whatsoever. There. Now we can all relax and move on.

My point exactly! You never see him! That cheap top 5 character with his broken invisibility!
