Titanfall! - Loadout and Tag Discussion

Trust me, I'm a doctor
Feel free to post your loadout ideas and tags here for other people who have picked up the game and are either looking for other team mates or specific role keepers for their matches.

For example, this is my idea for both a "Grunt" set-up as well as an "Anti-titan" set-up.

"Grunt Work"
- MK5 Smart Pistol + Suppressor
- Charge Beam / Mag Launcher
- B3 Wingman
- Cloak
- Satchel Charge

- Power Cell
- Minion Detector

Best used with:
"Thin the Ranks"
"Fast Learner"

Basically, this set is made for running through sets of grunts and spectres quietly and taking build time off of your titan. At 1 point a piece, removing the trash on the side with the quick multi-lock will help you build huge exp (as the smart pistol auto-locks on headshots on grunts) for newer players, and against other players who maybe aren't keeping an eye on their flanks, you can keep them in sight and pound in a few shots. Thanks to the huge damage on the wingman, you only have to lock two shots and then swap for the final shot with your revolver. This is also decent against Titans due to the explosive power it has, but its not the best.

If done correctly, you can build up around 30-40 minion kills inbetween Titanfalls which will result in 30-40 points for your team. Needless to say this is quite a decent advantage if you have two players doing it. Every 4 minion kills equals out to one pilot kill, and you can scoop up 3 or 4 minions per wave. While killing one-another is great, the real point income comes in the form of Grunt work. (Assuming you are on attrition).

"Attack on Titans"
- Spitfire + Slammer (sweet jesus)
- Mag Launcher
- B3 Wingman
- Cloak
- Satchel Charge

- Explosive Pack
- Deadman's Trigger

Best used with:
"Surplus Satchels"
"Titan Salvage"

This build is specifically for Titan breaking via "rodeo". The process is simple: You rodeo on, and assuming you can avoid the electric smoke and other titans scratching you off you unload an entire LMG mag into the opposing titan's circuits. In the case that it doesn't kill, you leave three satchel charges on them and jump away. Switch to your mag launcher, and start pelting the machine, detonating the charges with the double reload input which will usually doom any Titan type when done correctly. Since going into your own titan refreshes your supply, having an auto-titan set to follow mode will allow you to potentially doom an opposing titan with a distraction to boot, and then hop right into yours and back out allowing for free detonation devices.

The best part is, if the opponent tries to leave his/her titan, you can drop 1 charge and jump away from it. Then, when they proceed to climb back in, detonate the charge to kill them. If you're fast enough, you can even kill them on the way out.

My Xbone tag is NiceDoombawkz. :D Lets have some fun!

This game is so tight. And damn doombawkz why must you take everything to the lab lol
Dude, labbing it up is where its at. When I'm pulling like 7 or 8 titan kills and 40+ minion kills a game, damned be those who don't know what to do against me.

Its the lab animal within me, accept my apologies.

So what titan loadout do you use? Since you have it set to AI, is there any weapon choice you find better? I've had some luck with the 40mm 3-round burst because my titan is somewhat decent at shooting, but I hear some people say that if you have the guardian chip that the Arc Cannon and triple threat are better.

I just use 40mm and I use perks that try to make it last the longest.

Auto target, cause people be shield happy.
Yeah I hear that. Supposidly the arc cannon gets around it, but I dunno. Personally I use cluster bomb because even if they shield its still pegging them.

Do you bother with smoke at all? I know Autos can't really use it, so I'd figure not but I see a lot of people who do.

Warrior
My everything pilot
  • Car smg
  • Mag launcher
  • Auto Pistol
  • counterweight and sights
  • stim
  • satchel charge
  • run n' gun
  • dead man's trigger
Rush up to your opponents using strafe dodging and stim to unload the Car smg without bothering to ADS. Car+Auto Pistol 2x is just as efficient as the LMG for rodeo. Satchel + Dead Man's Trigger allows you to 1-x any one who gets the jump on you, simply toss them your hot potato.

Titan Boxer Build
  • Stryder chassis
  • 40 mm cannon
  • salvo rockets
  • electric smoke
  • nuclear
  • auto eject
Run up to your enemy and electric smoke+rocket salvo+40mm cannon right in their face. This combo does absurd damage. After this use the Stryder's superior mobility to dash around your opponent and punch them back into the electric smoke alternating between 40mm shot and punch.

You know, on that punch build I'm surprised you don't use the actual punch perk they have.

As to the first one, yeah I like deadman's trigger, especially when I have the surplus satchels set-up. Stick 8 satchels to a titan, jump to another, then keep going until someone kills you. I got a titan triple drop doing it, it was messy and glorious and it caused a huge amount of system lag haha.

Hey guys. I have made and am going to continue to make a bunch of Titanfall vids that will help you get better and complete generation challenges. I am currently running an unofficial series on all of the Titan Weapons and how to succeed with them.

I have been gen 10 lv 50 since Sunday and the nolifing of this game isn't stopping any time soon, and have gotten multiple offers to join VIVACITY esports (2nd place, CSGO @ ESEA most recently) for Titanfall and have over 80% win ratio sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, I know my shit :p

Shameless plugging is shameless.

Start of round to kill grunts until I die/get a titan:
Smart Pistol & Silencer
Mag Launcher
whatever pistol

Stim, Run N Gun and Minion Detector.
Satchel Charges in case you run into pilots, throw and boom.

Standard run and gun killing everything:
CAR smg, counterweight and HCOG
Autopistol
Mag Launcher
Satchel Charges
Stim, Minion Detector and Run N Gun Kit.

Titan:
Ogre with Triple Threat and +magazine - good for murdering pilots and grunts in buildings where they think they are safe. Good vs. Titans too as you can save up your core and then pop it in combat.
Electric Smoke - lets me stay in an Ogre for as long as possible as I don't have to risk getting out, also great extra damage vs. Titans and if you back pedal it forces titans to chase your through smoke damage + grenades
Multi-Target Missles.

If it's just Last Titan Standing on the dropship at the end switch out for 40mm cannon +magazine.

A new loadout I've been trying and encourage some to try is this one:

Grunt Work 2: Minion control

Smart Pistol + Silencer
Mag Launcher
Side-arm of your choice

Cloak
Satchel Charge

Quick Reload
The "icepick"

The entire point of this is simply to control up the enemy minions and sap through the enemy specters. The Ice Pick is a blessing in disguise: While you lose the benefit of minion radar, hacking into groups of specters takes about 50% less time. Given that they tend to spawn in groups of 3 and they spawn about 3 or 4 at a time, so long as you can manage to survive you'll obtain about 12 new back-up dancers to accompany you in a matter of about a second or 1.5 seconds per group. While it doesn't sound great, you'd be surprised as Specters are packing a fair bit of firepower.

Lol I already trading this game back in sorry u don't want to kill AI in a game with 4 guns and no customization and has balance issues. Sorry I enjoy shooting people! Play BF4 or Planetside 2. There's more than 4 guns!

Don't worry sweetheart there will be another call of duty clone for you to play soon enough.

But on topic
Doom the only thing I'd change on your smart pistol builds is the suppressor. And it might just be how I play, but especially with a smart pistol I'm parkouring non stop and as such the blip I make on the map when I fire is irrelevant as I won't be there by the time they check it and as such the negative damage I would get from equipping a suppressor isn't really worth it.

Some quick tips I'd recommend to you all:

-Never wall grab if you can avoid it the time it takes for that animation can be your death, try to angle yourself so you can jump and clear the lip of the wall when parkouring.
-If you are going to exit your titan the quickest way to do it is to crouch and look down, this removes the lengthy titan animation which makes it easier to deal with enemy rodeos
-If you are rodeod crouch and look down more than half the time they will think you are exiting your titan and hop off, simply sprint forward turn and kill them.
-To move quickly you can equip stim, use it then parkour and bunny hop after you land, bunny hopping will maintain your momentum until you double jump or hit an object
-You are protected by ally titan shields if you rodeo a friendly titan (Good for CTF)

And the biggest tip I can truly recommend is to think vertical. If you are coming from other FPS's it's really hard to let go of some of your old habits, but this game is designed for movement.
