Once there's something I really want, I usually go pretty hard at it knowing it will be difficult. This is one of those feelings, I won't be giving up.#1 Tip. Hide your pad so you are not tempted to go back.
You'll want to give up since you will get much worse before you get better. Just keep practicing.
I'll most likely be playing only Injustice and MK9 untill MKX comes out but it's a shame, I wanted to get into Tekken and SSF4 ae. Should I not play them for a little while?Stick to a game you know would be another piece of advice I would give. I jumped into getting used to my Hitbox and SF at the same time and it wasn't great, wish I had stuck to Injustice only just because I was familiar.
Okay. Movement first, then BnB's. Gotcha! Cheers!Play against the AI for a while until you are comfortable with the movement. Then practice bnb's. SLOW DOWN, your inputs are going to be a lot faster you will need to slow down your inputs in some cases. Once you're done with that, take that baby online and enjoy flawless execution in 2D fighters.
Good question, perhaps you should email the people at Hitbox. I've been emailing Shaun and he's very nice and answers in great detail. I plan on getting another Hitbox for MKX on the next-gen consoles anyway unless I just go full-blown PC player but then I miss out on playing folk I know. When the fuck are Hitboxes going to be available for the new console generation? I want one but I've got MKX in mind more than Injustice.
I've been reading about the Hitbox techniques for SF4 recently and I get how it's done and it doesn't seem difficult to perform the moves. Just seems kind of logical to me. Good thing I'm primarily an NRS player. Also "child's play", MMH, my picture... Well played my friend, intentional or notWhen I got my Hitbox I tried to play both Injustice and SF4 with it.
But I quickly came to the realization that it was better to play Injustice/NRS games with it because you don't need to look up any guides/tutorial on how to do certain moves or anything really. You can just sit back and play and eventually you'll get more comfortable, it's child's play really.
With SF4 on the other hand you have to learn Hitbox only techniques to preform certain moves, so in that case you'll have to look up a lot of stuff, via their homepage for instance, and then practice them over and over.
So to me NRS games are ideal for beginners to get comfortable with their Hitbox, learning while having fun without the frustration of not be able to do basic moves is a pretty sweet deal.
Oh I will stick with it. There's no way I'm paying £185 for a paper-weight!You'll hate it for the first 2 weeks or so. I wanted to smash mine lol but it's totally normal, just stick with it!
I liked putting a bumpy sticker on the R1 and 3 button as kind of a guide. Visual for button checks and a feel thing for your fingers so you don't ever have to look down while playing.
Good luck! You'll love it when you're all used to it
Hold off buying one unless you are getting MKX on the bone. PS4 has this check thing that the system does every 8 mins and it shuts the controller down. Akishop is working on a fix for their ps360 boards but as of yet, there isn't one.I really wanna get a Hitbox, I'm just not sure if I should.
I dropped $150 on an arcade stick for SF4 and I used it like maybe 8 times and gave up on SF4 (and all of its iterations) entirely. So now, I have this thing sitting here that I don't even use. I'd really hate for the same thing to happen if I were to buy a Hitbox.
I just really, really want one for Injustice and MKX.
I'm hoping to get MKX for the One. But it all depends if I have a One by the time MKX comes out. Thanks for the tip about the PS4, however. I plan on getting a One before a PS4, though.Hold off buying one unless you are getting MKX on the bone. PS4 has this check thing that the system does every 8 mins and it shuts the controller down. Why don't you return or sell it then since you don't use it? I'm getting a hitbox now because I can use my knowledge of MK9/INJ to use as a reference of my progress with the Hitbox so I'm in good shape for when MKX comes out. When MKX is release I should be using a Hitbox perfectly and so my execution for MKX should be on point.I really wanna get a Hitbox, I'm just not sure if I should.

Yes lol I've totally girl-ed out my box :$Oh I will stick with it. There's no way I'm paying £185 for a paper-weight!
Ahh interesting idea, it's the same as the 'J' and 'F' key on a standard PC keyboard. Might do that!
Thanks man! What's the layout of a hitbox? Is there a picture I can see?
Thanks!
I really want to girl out my Hitbox when it arrives now, and I'm a guy. Very nice Hitbox you have there!

This should be what you are looking for. I am also waiting for a PS4/Next Gen Hitbox. :/I really want to girl out my Hitbox when it arrives now, and I'm a guy. Very nice Hitbox you have there!
By Layout I meant, like, a diagram of what button is what. ie where is the 1, 2, 3, 4 etc?
...Now I'm brainstorming ideas to make my Hitbox look awesome haha :L
