The Truth About Nerfing and Buffing: Let's be Real

Gesture Required Ahead

Get on that hook
Apparently you didn't read the OP. Or even the last sentence by itself. CoD doesn't fit the qualifications to be an NRS title any more than Skullgirls does.
No, I have. It's just that that's what I got from it. And to make it more precise, I'll even rephrase it: "Make the game easy mode so that scrubs can enjoy. Thus, making the game sell better."

They should listen to the people who know the game. I didn't realize this was rocket science.
I know the game, im not Reo or Chrisg, but i know the game. Should i be ignored? Its hilarious that youd rather have virtua fighters community size than an actual community of players of varying skill. Its because of opinions like yours this genre was on life support for so long.

Really cause what i got from it and what i assume he means is make the game appealing to all levels of skill.

I believe the problem here is that balancing for both the casual player and competitive player is nearly, or completely impossible.

Look at it like this:
If Deathstroke is nerfed to a near-perfect balance, and requires smart thinking to beat (when he is used by a smart player who knows his tools), yet casuals still have almost the same amount of trouble against him because Deathstroke's options just dominate those who do not put their efforts into the game, there's an issue with continuing to cater to the casual player. If he is nerfed again to the point where casuals can now beat him, what will become of Deathstroke in competitive play?

It's quite difficult to tell when you cater too far to one side over the other. Catering to both the competitive player and the casual player is really rough.

That's just sugarcoating what I said. But you're implying that when scrubs can enjoy , the more dedicated players don't.
Are you saying the top players will quit if balance changes are made to appease intermediate players? Cause they wont not as long as they can win money.

Keep putting words in my mouth.

Totally false statement. In fact, it most likely will.
For someone clueless to the game? Sure.

Thats the entire point. Its to find balance between the 2 . Nerfing deathstroke to the point of everyone beating him would be an example of going to far, lets say a month from nkw people are still having the same issues with him a nerf might be warranted at that point. Obviously you are going to have your extremeists the best of the best andxthe worst of the worst and only trying to appease on or the other is bad for the game.

Go to hell.
How about we have two patches

One for retarded people who cry about spamming

And one for the rest of us

I -think- I can understand what you're saying lol. But for the game to really be balanced in the eyes of players don't you have to understand its basics?
Id agree with that. And i hatexto pick on Deathstroke but its not like everyone complaining about him are people who no absolutely nothing about the game. Are all those people who are complaining about killer frost braindead people who cant press 1,2,3 in sucession?

I can admit I'm reacting too heatedly but Frost is a lot more understandable in the source of frustration.

Deathstroke is as simple as blocking, dashing, and jumping to get in.

Again if it was easy asxyou downplay it there would be no complaints. Its not like its a zoning issue cause i dont see people complaining sbout sinestro or cyborg (yet). Superman has pretty damn good zoning to and i dont see a ton of complaints with him either.

Because why should NRS listen to someone who doesn't know anything about the game beyond 3 hit dial combos and jump-in mashing?

The game should not be balanced on the whim of someone who doesn't take the time to learn the game but has all day to bitch about it.
They should listen to them because they make up 99.7 percent if their sales.
Their goal may be to make a competitive fighter, but their business is to make as much money as fast as possible, and business always comes first at this scale.

The thing is nobody uses Cyborg yet. Sin ain't so popular either.

The problem casual players have is how fast they are, that's all.
