UMK3...I don't plan on it. You are free to bring it along to play.

So it looks the ideal date for a possible tournament will be May 19th? This would be an event MK9 Komplete on the PS3.

Im definitely down for may 19th for this tourney

Id say book it pretty quick though - it'd be a month away and you need to promote it hard :)

we can probably bring stream equipment

Hello friends,

My name is Derek and I have been an active member of the GA Fighting Game Community since about 2007. My history of fighting games has always been Capcom related, from SF2, to 3S, to SF4, and now my main game has been Marvel (trying to get into Skullgirls as well!) Anyway, I was really excited for MK when it first dropped last year, and played it pretty hard for about the first 2 months of its release, with my only tournament entries being once at WNF in LA when I was vacationing out there, and last year's CEO (where I had to play Chris G in the Reptile mirror first round. :/ ) However, after the game started getting patched like every other week, I stopped focusing on it.

I've recently watched the MLG MK matches and the Powerup matches, and I'm really amazed by how much the game has evolved. I think it's a blast to watch (I usually tune in to the BnB stream) and I think I'd like to give it another shot, especially considering the fact that Georgia has a really incredible pool of talent. I'm not going to lie, though, I'm pretty lost as to where to begin. I talked to BeeneeWeenees a bit last night about things, so that kind of motivated me to post up here. :)

I should be at Revival anyway for other games, so hopefully I can watch and learn some while I'm there! And tonight, I just might dust off my copy of MK for the first time in nearly a year!

Hope to meet/learn/play with you guys in the future!

Come to and hang out with us over by MK at revival and we'll all do what we can to help. Itd be great to have another FGC player in the house for mk

Sounds awesome! There are like 10 characters I'm interested in, and considering the fact that I'm having a difficult time finding resources on these forums, I'll probably rely on you MK veterans for advice. @.@ Big thanks again to BeeneeWeenees for being a dope dude.

I would like to use a new custom tournament format I developed. If its OK with you guys.

**King of The Hill**
This format has the following perks
- Gives everyone more matches (more than usually two matches in double elimination format).
- Matches people up to their skill level
- More chances to win a prize/money
- Difficulty increases as you advance in the tournament (pending the competition in the tournament)

I think this format I developed is perfect for MK. I can explain and give more details privately via facebook chat or PM.

or we can use the same old plain format :-(
No matter, either way is cool with me :)

Yeah, its kind of hard to explain over a forum without blasting out all of the information or making a HUGE post.
That is why I am suggesting if someone would like more details on the format of the KOTH setup, just hit me up

It really sounds interesting but without knowing how the format actually works then how can we endorse it?

Would anyone want to get together and get some offline games in on friday??? I need some practice before revival. I live in the Buford/ Lawrenceville area (Gwinnett County), but I can drive anywhere in metro ATL.

I really want this to happen. most of my "training" comes from ladder or laggy online games lol. I have no close by friends who play mk anymore. sad face
