Turnout was good. I scrubbed out, but had a good time. Once PSN comes back online and I have the time I'll learn to play this game. It was nice seeing so many people getting hyped about something other than SF and Marvel. I took 2nd in T6, and you could almost hear crickets by our station. Hopefully things will change once the crossover games and TTT2 drop.Sorry I couldn't make it out today! Weekend before finals in my last semester of college. This summer I'll be way more free to attend things like this. How was the tournament? Good turnout?
Were you the other kid using Kitana? Apologies, I didn't catch everyone's gamertag. Regardless, I had a lot of fun at GU and have nothing but good things to say about everyone I've met there. I plan on going down there at least once a week from now on so hopefully we'll be playing each other again sometime soon.I'm from Springfield, MA. I only have the game on PS3 for now. I go to Game Universe in Framingham, MA from time to time. I was there this Tuesday mostly playing MK. NuSix3, it was a pleasure meeting you on Tuesday. Maybe I'll see some of you at the GU tourney tomorrow.
Yep that was me. Hopefully we get to play again soon. Were you the other kid using Kitana? Apologies, I didn't catch everyone's gamertag. Actually, I live in Gloucester as well. I work 3pm-11:30pm and am off on weekends. Shoot me a PM with your number if you're looking to get some offline matches.Heya, I'm pretty new here (well, not to the area, just the the whole Fighting Game community thing).
Live in Gloucester MA, just a train ride away from Boston.
Hah, awesome. I haven't actually had much practice in fighters until recently when I picked-up SFIV again (after years of hiatus from stuff like Alpha 3, Tekken Tag, etc.). Then dabbled in some MvC3, and got in MK since it was an old fav of mine, and found it somewhat exciting to be in on the ground floor of a new game as everyone discovering the nuances of it.Actually, I live in Gloucester as well. P.S. I'm mainly a Tekken/SF player, but I'm trying to pick this game up for when I'm able to attend tournaments in Framingham.
Late teens to 30's. Mostly 20somethings.Whats the age group like at GU?
New England's thread on TZHey guys,
I made an account so i could join this thread, so please excuse my noobish ways. i would just like to let you guys know that there is a group of players here in RI, Providence is about 40 minutes from framingham & boston. we play everything. Mostly tekken we are looking to get very into this game as we are liking it alot. I also don't mind making the trip out to anywhere in the New England area to meetup for a session if theres a good turn out. I havent been to GU in years is it still near Minados?
lol, yes i know matt he is apart of the aforementioned group of players, we go way backNew England's thread on TZ
If you live in Providence and play Tekken, I'm going to assume you know Matt aka AnimalATTAKtics. If you don't, then that's a shame. At any rate, introduce yourself over there on TZ as well if you and your crew play that game.
Posting up about events in 3 forums probably isn't going to happen every time, but Tuesdays and Fridays (most weeks) are gatherings at GU in Framingham. I'd recommend lurking the Framingham thread on SRK, because Lucky D is the one organizing events there and that's where most of the info. will originate from online.
Game Underground in Framingham thread on SRK
Next time there's something going down at GU on a Saturday you guys need to come up. I haven't seen Matt since VTYME 4, and since PSN has been down I haven't played him lately either. Tell him that Josh (aka Bacon) says what's good!lol, yes i know matt he is apart of the aforementioned group of players, we go way back
thanks for the Link ill keep my eye on the GU thread aswell. anyone interested in arranging a gathering sometime in the next week or so?
Woah. We have a Nashua NH, I'm from Amherst, NH, and you are from Milford... That's a good start.Im from Milford NH and it seems like theres no fighting community at all around here.. its sad
You sir are my hero. I'd be down to go to either of these - as a matter of fact I probably will.Hey guys, I'm a SF4 player from MA but I've recently picked up MK9 and have been having a lot of fun with it. Its great to see a lot of MK players from the NH and MA area and just wanted to inform you guys on other places to play besides GU in Framingham MA.
SouperBowl, Lowell MA, Fight Night Every Wednesday
Every Wednesday night the SouperBowl restaurant in Lowell MA holds a fight night for a variety of games including MK9. Also this venue hosts a monthly tournament and this months May tourney had 25 entrants for MK9.
Pinball Wizard Arcade Pelham NH, Fight Nights Every other Tuesday (next 5/31)
Then there is the Pinball Wizard Arcade in Pelham NH. They hold fight nights every other Tuesday night also with a variety of games including MK9. This is a new venue and they are planning a tournament for mid June, MK9 is on the game list.
All these venues are predominantly SF4 and MvC3 driven, though MK9 is holding its own and generating a lot of interest. The more players who come and support the game then the bigger mk9 can get in NE.
