I dont know if its just me a play BA,a nd picked him before i even heard of him being good but, heres a weird question?

Seen BA being top of this list, does turn anyone else off him for some reason, i feel like its more the Char winning than me?

Its the players winning, not the character. BA is borderline broken, but if it was the character every BA player would be in Top 8. Not just one or two.

Also if you look at regions. East Coast seems to love Black Adam and Supes. West Coast Superman and Deathstroke are dominating, and the Midwest likes zoners(Sinestro/Raven etc) or heavy rush down chars(doomsday/nightwing/catwoman/flash)

What you're doing doesn't really make sense...there is no 6th place and 8th place. There is 5th place tie and 7th place tie. You're giving more points to a 5th place character than the "6th place" character

A 5th place character should get more points than a 6th place character.....

There is no such thing as 6th place at a fighting game tournament. Nor is there an 8th place.

As per my prior post, there's a 5th place tie and a 7th place tie. They should therefore be assigned the same amount of points

A tie for 5th means they both.. tied for 5th. One of them DOES NOT come in 6th place.........therefore if you assign 2 points to one 5th placer the other 5th placed should also get 2 points, not less.

Great idea and very much appreciated. I hope you keep the actual collected data in your backhand to be able to adjust the metrics later on or do additional derivatives. I like these kind of data driven unopinionated approaches. They provide a nice counterweight to the subjective approach that is much to prevalent in the FG community. One little request. Could you do a table with all the characters as rows and the places 1 to 8 as columns where the numeric data is obviously the amount of attained placements? Even better if you could somehow make all your data available but I would understand if you didn't.

Shouldn't both 5th placers have the same amount of points since they tied? Same with 7th placers.
