could also be that all tested itIm sure they will let the players play the game for a few hours before the actual tournament. Nobody wants to see a first to two where both players are trying to figure out their specials and strings.
I don't see it this way -- in a day-zero NRS game, somebody like Ryan Hart or Justin Wong with their level of fundamentals actually stands a chance against just about anyone you can put them up against.
The execution and legacy curve for something like SF4 is totally different and can't really be compared.
You both make great points, but I think they are besides the main point. Ryan Hart being able to pick up the game and its systems in order to compete / possibly win isn't what's in question, it is why was is he in the invitation running to begin with.Ryan is a world class fighting game player, it would be silly for people to sleep on him.
We're all guna be brand new to the game, so it'll be all about who learns the fastest!
Sf4 really doesn't have high execution barriers or an extreme legacy curve. the existence of plinking makes 1 frame links, really 2 frame links and most character's bnbs are like short, jab, strong xx special or something like that. i also just really started playing sf4 seriously when ultra came out and ive done just fine. game is really straight forward and easy to jump into. its just the level of competition in that game is absolutely insane given the player base and the overall experience of many of the top players. The execution and legacy curve for something like SF4 is totally different and can't really be compared.

not an extreme one to the level of other games like tekken or guilty gear accent core. valmaster has only been playing street fighter for 2 years and he qualified for capcom cup and took out justin wong and is one of the best players in europe.SF doesn't have a legacy curve? At the highest level?
PL tyrant Pick up games the fastest out of those 8Outside of ForeverKing/Fox nobody can pick up a FG up fast as Tyrant in that list. That's a fact fam.
But no one was comparing to Tekken -- compared to the games TYM covers, there is definitely a much bigger legacy curve in high-level play.not an extreme one to the level of other games like tekken or guilty gear accent core. valmaster has only been playing street fighter for 2 years and he qualified for capcom cup and took out justin wong and is one of the best players in europe.
In 5 mins HURRRRRRYWhen will this stream begin?
You ask anyone who's been playing SF for years & they'll tell you SFIV alone has a huge legacy curve & a high barrier for competition due to it.not an extreme one to the level of other games like tekken or guilty gear accent core. valmaster has only been playing street fighter for 2 years and he qualified for capcom cup and took out justin wong and is one of the best players in europe.
Ryan Hart is no slouch when it comes to picking up games fast eitherPL tyrant Pick up games the fastest out of those 8
with sf4 i feel its more of the players that make it feel that way more so than the game itself. there just happens to be players in there that have 15+ years of experience in fighting game tournaments, which in any game with that kind of experience you should have the upper hand. But no one was comparing to Tekken -- compared to the games TYM covers, there is most definitely a much bigger legacy curve in high-level play.
