The whole point of guest characters is appealing to an audience that watched the media where the character is from, so I'm not sure making the fatal blow any animation other than one in which a reference is in would do anything to make the character more appealing to the potential target audience lol. On the T-1000's case in particular, they also try to appeal to MK fans by having him use Shao Kahn's Wrath Hammer, Kabal's hookswords and (apparently) Jade's Bo as well. And I'm absolutely sure we simply didn't see T-1000 having Baraka's chop chop blades move because Baraka is in the game from the start lol

I really thought there was going to be a full morph in his move set... maybe make morphing into the Kameo Character to make it different from Shang Tsung, or something... I dunno.. I just thought that we were defiantly going to get a full morph of some type in his move set.

You should go watch Terminator 2, man. The movie is fantastic.

T2 is one of the most over-rated films of all time.... there is a LOT to like about it, but it can not escape the ewok factor.... "ewok factor" is when they take a film and insert a fucking obnoxious child into and then shoehorn in restrictions to hit a producer requirement to attain a certain age rating. Oh hey... you made that brutal cult action film about the killer robot? Lets make a sequel but make it for families and give it a pg rating for kids can go see it! Also, make a star a teenage boy, as that is who is most likely going to buy the merch... the entire film is a sellout. That wouldn't even be that bad, hey it is how things are done... but the kid in this film is just unbearable.

Making the terminator not kill people was fucking retarded, and that kid is unwatchable in every single scene he is in.

Should have just been Sara Conner as a badass and the terminator shooting people in the face from start to end. T2 is one of those films that the more you watch it the more you realise that most of it is utter shit.

Imagine if they would have saved the semi for his super. He does some slices/stabs then walks off screen, boom a big ass semi truck hits the opponent and the XRay effect is for their entire body. That's a reference AND it's dope as fuck for people who have never seen the movie.

Edit: If the truck fatality had instead been the Fatal Blow, it would be the longest Fatal Blow in the game and ain't nobody wanna sit through that every match.

This discussion made me curious so I decided to time a bunch of the fatal blow animations and I'm pretty sure they're all almost the same length give or take about less than 1-ish seconds. Kameos tend to take 5 seconds for their portion and the main fighter takes about 7.
Madam Bo and T-1000 are both 5s and 7s respectively.

(this was loosely measured with a stop watch post hit at the moment the cinematic begins at camera change, then stopped when character becomes actionable again)

This is most likely done with kameo cooldown times in mind. If it was the truck instead it would definitely be tailored to fit into that same 7 seconds anyway so I wouldn't throw it off the table. That said, I prefer the simple and direct stuff over big and fancy for presentation most of the time so I lean towards the fb we got being the better choice.
Akuma's regular lv3 in SF6 is my favourite presentation of a super in years.

12-13 seconds total for a super is pretty rough, though.

They're about as common as any Level 3 in SF6. You see them about once per match.
