Yes, if you want to risk being hit by his JIP air-to-air while he's coming down then get frozen by the clone. He can do this if he sees you jump at him early.

Pretty much, but it's still all a mix-up. You're stuck in the corner in the same position every time he guesses right. It's basically a loop until you make the right guess to escape.
