ALL I HAVE IS THE GREEN.
You pretty much never wanna end with sweep. There's almost no reason to. And yeah it's doable just hard. Like I said the main reason I prefer the st mk route is that on block it leaves me in a position I'm more comfortable in and gives me better options to mix it up after or during. I'd rather be -2 and at a range akuma excels in than plus 1 at a range where my buttons are all less effective. Akuma isn't a flow chart character though and I think everyone can put their own stamp on him i don't think there's an incorrect way to play him as long as you win. His multitude of options is why he's good/fun. Also just so you know cr mp into st mp will combo into lk tatsu I don't think it's possible to be at a range where one connects and the other won't.
Yeah, I know that sweep isn't his best ender for oki, but I was kind of exploring the cr.MP meaty which can be followed by cr.MP or possibly cr.HP/v-skill OS. Sweep gives a nice cr.MP frame kill setup for cr.MP meaty. It was just an example of a meaty.

about st.MP into lk tatsu: It won't combo in this sequence: cr.MP (blocked), cr.MP (crouching counter-hit), st.MP~lk tatsu (but if you do MK tatsu it will connect always - standing counter-hit or crouching counter-hit). At least that's what happened when I tested on Akuma.

Yeah it'll never hit crouchers only mk tatsu can but range wise st mp will always be comboable into Lk tatsu if they aren't crouching.

I already lose, so Alex wouldn't be a bad choice. i could option select my losses. I actually *really* like him, but I just dont want a low tier character. Even though he fits me reasonably well.

Ya know why I dont play Laura? You. You and I sat down one day and I played Laura, it was, for the most part, the first time I had played her vs a person. Maybe 45m in training mode. You saw, I had no combos, but occasionally I did a thing.

Obviously I lost badly, but ya know what? I had rounds, where my complete shit Laura, with me having not a damn setup to speak of, just understanding the SUPER basic meaty stuff, while learning the character, took a round off you, or ran it surprisingly close. Not because I was doing a damn thing right, but simply because if I knocked you down and you guessed wrong I caught up or got ahead on life.

Something about that left a bad taste in my mouth. VERY rarely when I was 'winning' a round or even just keeping up, or I ran a health lead you had built back mostly back and evened things out, I didnt feel like *I* had done something smart or worthwhile. I felt like I yolo'd and it worked and then you made a wrong guess and that meant I was good at SF or something.. Because I saw SEVERAL rounds, and one or two games, that if I hadnt dropped the combo, or had just known the thing from the start, that Id have won through no real intelligent play of my own, but simply because I did a thing that worked and then you didnt guess right.

I know guessing right *is* this game, every character makes you guess, but on Laura I felt like, even though i was losing badly 90% of the time, I was being carried by the character and I could see just how far that carry would have actually been, had I had a few basics with her, like Vtrigger combos, down in the slightest.

Shrug. I know its a stupid reason, but that set of ours turned me off to her. I saw how I could work on her and how strong she'd be, but I also saw that I would be carried.

Mika is still dope as shit and probably the grappler I *should* play, since she can play in so many different ways. I keep forgetting about her and I dont know why.

Gief I want to learn mainly, so I understand how to play against him, since, and I am probably wrong, but since I think as time goes by, and especially after the upcoming patch, he will end up top 1-2-3 and there will be 10million of them.

This is an odd question, but what character in this game relies the ABSOLUTE LEAST on setplay and oki?
Chun or ryu. Not that she's significantly better in neutral than the others just that the other characters with neutral on her level all have a solid oki game like cammy/Karin. Ryu probably wins though. That mans got no dirt on him nowadays.

If mika's ex shooting peach has full body armor on frames 3-9 that means it's not a reversal like for example ex srk right? So this means I can't use this as an invincible wake up right?

It's all so very confusing.

Yeah, Ryu seems pretty straight forward. Poor guy. But I keep coming back to him in one way or another. Hopefully his midget buffs do more than it appears they will.

Best buff he's getting is his cr.hp, new and improved.
:DOGE
Yeah i love that they used hours they could have spent figuring out that Boxer needs more than a 25hp nerf, to give him a fucked up animation that makes no sense whatsoever to change and looks exceedingly stupid.

So it's Ryu or Necalli for my second. It's kinda sad when Necalli has a better low forward x special than Ryu does.

dem I can't believe I have only played SFV like 7-8 times during the last 8 months, how y'all find time playing SFV is surprising me lol
way too many AAA titles at the moment, Sony srsly needs to stop releasing so many great games nowadays
after beating watch dogs 2, TLG, FF15, Horizon ZD and Nioh, the only game Im playing currently is Zelda on Nintendo switch lol when I come home from work
haven't even had the chance to get nier automata, the new yakuza yet and wth just noticed persona 5 is also out in EU
next month Injustice 2 and SF2 on Switch comes out...

the very rare times Im getting back on SFV online its always some balrog or laura player teabagging me lol
me being rusty, oh well

Yea lots of great games, but I dont know why I just play fighting games now. SFV and mkx are the only games I play on my free time. I mean you can't really pass a fighting game, it's all learning and getting better. But yea I also know you can enjoy other types. Before buying mkx I played the last of us, think it's one of the best games of all time.

Anyone gonna be around later this afternoon? Want to play some.Ryu and Necalli and make a damn decision. Kinda Leaning towards Necalli simply because he's, ya know, way the fuck better than Ryu.

I still don't know how some players, especially higher level players using Ryu did the st.lk throughout the round close to the opponent and if it connected then it canceled into exTatsu, if it whiffed nothing came out and they were safe. Can anyone explain how that's done?

It's a really basic option select. They input the st.LK and then ex tatsu while the st.LK is animating. The ex tatsu will only come out if the st.LK connects because it will cancel the normal into the special. Since you can't cancel a whiffed normal, the ex tatsu won't come out otherwise.
