Tech Stop thinking Shazam is bad

But your opponent can know your tendencies too, unless you're fighting monkeys or something.
Thus it stops being a chance altogether on either end.

Bottom line is, though, Shazam requires you to know a lot about your opponent when it comes to his offense. What he tends to do on wakeup, his favorite defensive option, what he likes to do when he does block 22, etc. List goes on.

That is what makes it chance though. Both of you have an equal chance at 'outsmarting' eachother. Assuming both of you know the matchup equally well, and you are both equally smart in 'fighting game' terms, all it comes down to is chance since you being smart isn't an advantage you have over your opponent.

I disagree with you too, but then, I don't have an ego problem so I don't act like a huge dick about it.

But your problems are your own, and none of my business so I'll leave you to yourself.
Its not really an ego thing moreso that it gets really annoying trying to have a discussion or say something in general and them some troll who feels he is superior pops in to tell everyone why theyre so stupid.

I never called you stupid, and I never said anything that reeked of superiority, infact, your post where you lost your cool was more like that so, this is a case of the pot calling the kettle black, except, I'm not black, or a kettle. And you're still a hypocrite.

you guys look really silly being spoon fed this stuff just because it came from a top player. nobody is saying shazam cant win, theyre saying its too hard to be worth it. Yes he can win by making several good decisions in succession. Superman and Black Atom can win by making serval bad decisions in succession. How is this complicated?

What I'm saying comes from experience first of all. Second of all, maybe you should listen to a top player since they are top for a reason. And if you think superman can win with bad decisions.... learn to play. That's all I can say.

If you say so

You guys must not have watched the video. It's a 50/50 because the Herculean Might will hit high block and Atlas Torpedo will hit low block + backdash.
I can't believe you watched the video and then posted this.

hint: You're wrong.

edit since that's a dick answer: The very first frame someone gets up from a knockdown, they are forced to stand (only for 1 frame). If you time a HM correctly, it will hit every single time. The only way to break out of the infinite resets is to use a wakeup special with invulnerability. hence, 50/50

He's talking about the set up after 22, not the wake up set up. He's actually 100% correct

You can d1 into combo (depending on character) if you predict a torpedo - Thus making it a 33:33:33.
The wakeup game is a 50:50 yes (assuming your execution is perfect to catch the 'just frame')

Predicting involves a level of intelligence and control on the part of the guy doing the things, in truth, it all comes down to what your opponent does, and you have no way of knowing what they will do.

This is stupid. A 'read' is not luck - it's a read. If I have noticed that the opponent tends to wakeup attack when their life is low and I punish them for that, then I have made a solid read and can reap my rewards. If you can't appreciate a good read and you think that you can have no idea of what the opponent will do, then go play aquaman.

I think your sort of confused about what side you're on. The fact that Aquaman doesn't have to care what his opponent is doing is a problem, and buffing shazam to that level would be more healthy for the metagame and fun than nerfing anyone. Didn't you guys learn anything from MK9?

I have no idea what you are trying to say, but the only thing I learned form MK 9 was that, for that particular game, the more broken, the more fun it became to play because it was so STUPID! A bit like MW2, it was so broken that it was a blast to play!

I agree, broken is fun! leaving a character out is not fun so make them all fair, or better yet, all broken! I referred to MK9 in the sense that there was like 9 patches in a year that were mostly nerfs and it didn't even help.

If you think shazam is good, youll be shocke to know that 99 percent of all fighting game characters have unblockable grabs and an option to punish people avoiding the grabs, that doesnt make him good.

if you realize hes bad but think nerfing others is the issue, look at MK9.

So buff Shazam lol! See Jax from MK9!

Calling for buffs on a character in the first month is very short-sighted. I'm not calling anyone dumb, this is about perspective.

1. Meta-games take a long time to develop (Street Fighter 2).
2. Zoners are always the most powerful archetype at the beginning of a game (MvC3, UMvC3).
3. Damage isn't everything (Dhalsim, Doomsday, Lex).
4. Grapplers take even longer than most characters to develop (SSF4 T Hawk, Hakan).
