He shouldn't. If my dad was getting drunk with people at one of these events, I'd probably kill myself. BUT he does get mad props and stock for not just unleashing the beast and killing that other raven player who was screaming for your sodomy in the background. Jesus Christ, I think at least three people just wanted to stomp his fucking face in at that moment. Too rude. And grats to you sir.
I don't mind commentators being on for their entertainment. But when it comes to Top 8, I believe that commentators that know the game should be used. Both of these commentators did not seem to know the game post-patch.
They also didn't know that when Deathstroke's trait is on cooldown, all of his gun shot specials will miss. This was evident when this exact scenario happened during a button check, and both commentators were talking about it as if they had just watched a major glitch happen on-stream.
I found them both to be enjoyable, but, again: if it's Top 8, get someone on there with considerable knowledge of the game such as Brady or Pig. Because this game (like other non-Capcom games) receives the most exposure to the rest of the FGC during Top 8 action. ESPECIALLY when it's on Spooky's stream. It's during this specific time where we need commentators that can explain the game in detail to those who may be less familiar with it.

Pimpimjim: Stock up. Easily the most inexplicable major win since Tommy somehow won Final Round in March. PPJ winning was so out of no where even he couldn't believe it. With GGA going into exile after EVO we sent PPJ as a scout to see how we stacked up compared to the rest of the scenes. Apparently we're pretty good. After this win he probably expects respect and to be allowed to have opinions on match ups and tier lists at Tony's. He is wrong(just ask Tommy).
Sonic Boom Brad: Stock plummeted into the depths of hell. After months of shit talking and hyping himself up SSB has unquestionably the worst weekend since me at Final Round 2012. Anything that could go wrong went wrong. First he had said GGA was free and WNF was the strongest scene. He is in PPJ's pool. He gets bodied and PPJ gets out of pools...and WINS THE ENTIRE TOURNAMENT..beating a WNF player. Then he denies Noobe is the best Doomsday. Noobe goes on to beat Rico, Darth Arma, Grr and Sonic Fox and ends up with the most impressive Doomsday performance to date. Finally he tries to make up for this shite weekend by challening Noobe to a Doomsday mirror only to lose 5-0. This tournament went so poorly for Brad that Zyphox went 0-2 and KDZ lost to a zoning Superman and they're not even in the conversation for biggest blowup of NEC.
Blind Ducky: Stock up. One of the few MU cops of questionable authority who has delivered. Has now been given free reign to lord over the forums and post obnoxious status updates about how bad other Raven players are. There's nothing we can do about this but hope he gets bodied at SCR. Still needs a haircut.
Trepound: Stock up. Eliminates Rico from pools and sends his him packing over to Killer Instinct. May have had a nervous breakdown while playing Theo. Outplaced Pig of the Hut after Pig called out AK and said they weren't worth training with. Sadly similar to his MK career he has the best performance of his life and yet is still not the best with his character.
Tyrant: Stock up. Finally did well on a national stage after being so successful at WNF. Only dock against him was the lame Superman counter picking, which goes against his character specialist shtick and made it so even after the patch Superman was still in the grand finals. Later went on Twitter claiming he was done playing 100% Grundy and would do what it takes to win, which no on believes since he does that after every WNF. It's like when Tom claims he's done losing to Black Adam or Smarr promises to get out of pools.
Pig of the Hut: Stock up. If you clicked on this to see Pig get blown up you will be disappointed. Pig saved the stream with his 4G card and will be spared a blowup. If this is truly the end of his NRS career he goes out a hero.
Obviously he is full of shit and will be back for the next stock report.
Jupiter: Stock neutral. Earns an impressive scalp with Forever King but ultimately does not make it out of pools. Has become a pawn in the MMH wars putting him in the awful position of being a fraud who only wins because of MMH when he wins and irrelevant and not as good as a guy who hasn't entered a tournament in months when he loses. It's not easy being green.
Forever King: Stock up. Has an acceptable IGAU tournament by his standards with a top 8 finish. While this probably puts to rest the talk of him being "the man to beat" and the #1 player it does put him in the conversation for the most consistent. In MK he finally won the big one. After about 60 2nd place finishes King has won a major. Except that it's December of 2013 and MK is so dead Mike Metroid is making grand finals.
Revolver: Stock neutral. Got bodied in pools but played an important role outside the tournament. His job was to chaperone PPJ and make sure he didn't end up dead in a hotel bathroom. Apparently he was successful. Also carried Blind Ducky to the stage for top 8, possibly intended to be symbolism for how Ducky was carried to the top 8 by Raven's zoning.
Sonic Fox: Stock down. Finally his trolling and derpy play style catches up with him when playing his shite Kenshi costs him his reign over the Big E MK tournaments and in IGAU he does so many wake up attacks against Noobe it would make Tommy Wafflez blush. Could easily rebound quickly since there's probably another Big E major next weekend.
Theo: Stock up. Has proven the West Coast Superman is the real deal. The match vs. KDZ felt like the main event of WrestleMania and the match with Tyrant was the hypest moment of the tournament. By Saturday night even the East Coast guys weren't giving Frantastic a chance in hell of beating him. Unfortunately after so much drama with Tom he lost the FT5 money match in Pig's hotel room giving Tom hours of content to rant about on the podcasts. We will never hear the end of it now.
Grrr: Stock up. Let's not stand on ceremony here, this was the strongest performance from a Bane player to date. Best moment in the tournament was when he was roided up and took like half life from throwing the stove at Noobe. It was the biggest bullshit interactable win since the flying drones got normalized. Looks like Kevo Da Man.
Darth Arma: Stock up. Adds another top 8 placement to his resume putting him in contention with the top Batman alongside Forever King. Has proven he can compete with the best nationally and not just his local top players. His only weakness may be the oddball matchups as he clearly had no idea what was going on with Hawkgirl and seemed unaware Earthshaker is overhead into low.
Slayer: Stock neutral. Did not place but ended in a respectable 9th place. Stole it from Kitana Prime with the horseshit dive bombs. Appeared to play all of his matches at his WNF home field, Themysicra. This makes no sense because it's double random. Should be investigated for foul play. I have heard NEC has history of shady tactics.
Martian Manhunter: Stock down. After the zoners on the Kryptonite Council spent weeks going apeshit over the alien he fails to place top 16. CD Sr and Jupiter, who they had pegged as possible top 8 contenders, lost in pools. REO failed to show and has now become a boogeyman for them. They now speak of him in hushed tones and warn bad kids that he is coming for them if they don't behave. The hysteria was so high that somehow the rational, level headed players who are simply taking a wait and see approach are Death level downplayers for not considering him the new ST Akuma.
Paulo Garcia: Stock up. The first major after the biggest patch may have been the greatest Injustice tournament to date. Full of fast pace action, never before seen shenanigans, oddball characters achieving success, comebacks, blowups, everything you could ask for in a tournament. The days of Black Adam and Superman boring us to tears are over. Those who brag about not playing got bodied and can step aside for a new era of hype. The biggest props of all go to all of NRS for this great patch and the players who put on a hell of a show.
