[SPOILERS] Why I believe there roster leak is slightly inaccurate (They forgot two...)

Not really? If anything, Quan Chi's presence would undermine the ending of MKX which strongly suggests that Liu Kang and Kitana are the new rulers of the Netherrealm. They don't seem to need him in any capacity.

Ok well my secondary evidence that there will be a 30 character base roster is the shape. I believe they will fill in the full rectangle with 42 characters after 2 seasons of DLC.

And honestly as cool as Liu Kang and Kitana ruling the Netherrealm is, I feel like Kronika will want to change how things played out..

The information isn't enough. We don't know who's in development, because they have been hidden from the media. Their comments could be vague for all we know.

BTW, you misplaced Shao Khan, for his right place is to where Shang Tsung portrait is.

As for the swordsmen, the only swordsmen I know so far are Scorpion, Kabal, Kotal Khan and Kenshi. The rest are either weapon materialists, like Sub, who can materialize his ice magic into weapons in his Cryo variation, or different weapon specialists, like Takeda and Tanya being a whip and a Naginata specialists, respectively.

Let's wait for the next KKs to see who's in.

I don't see the purpose in someone saying Mileena would be unlockable when they could've said someone like Rain was unlockable, Y'know? Rain wasn't mentioned in either leak and there are other characters they could've come up with.

Everybody takes that gamesfaq leaker as gospel but apparently that screenshot was flooting around on discords since january so he could have made up the Shinnok, Mileena and Shang part.

Also i dont know if all these red names on the leak were always there but what if the one who leaked it to us all saw the gamefaq leak and filled in the names.

Cetrion and Kollector could be codenames like Terras or whatever was for Geras.

I bet Ermac will be DLC, however not having any info about Kenshi and Takeda in the leaks are pretty interesting. Btw, still can't get the fact that they picked Jacqui over Takeda while choosing Kombat Kids to the base roster. I mean... I know SJW and stuff, but if we have Jax (again, unfortunatelly...) then Takeda would be more wise choice.

Shinnok isn't an unlockable. Shang Tsung and I'm assuming Mileena is. But if it's not Mileena then who? I'd assume Rain, but his name hasn't popped up anywhere (And if any of the proven leaks had anything you'd think Rain's name would've popped up. I mean, we saw Noob and he wasn't on the select-screen. How come we didn't see Rain?) Then we've got people saying there are two more characters that nobody knows about so idk. Neither Mileena or Shinnok's names were on the select screen either. So, if they took the name's from the leaked roster surely they would've put them up there too?

I just don't see Mileena sitting this out especially with Shao Kahn, Kitana, and Shang all in. Characters she'd have a history with. It'd be a missed opportunity on some dope dialogue.

Ed Boon described Kitana and Mileena as the female Sub-Zero and Scorpion so I just can't see either sitting a game out at this point and Mileena has tons of fans and is super popular without a doubt. I know she's Derek Kirtzic's favorite too and he's said in the Jade Kombat Kast that he loves creating acrobatic and sexy female characters.

I'd deal with her being DLC, but if she was on the base I just feel like that'd free up room for other female DLC characters like Sindel or Sareena who I know have a ton of people who want them.

But we'll find out when Cetrion or Kollector get revealed whether or not those are actually their names.

Kronika is confirmed unplayable tho. And I agree that Quan Chi isn't essential but I'd argue none of the other characters people want are either. And obviously they wouldn't make the MK11 story about Quan controlling everyone, they'd do some change the timeline shit with it.

Scorpion is just so entirely scorpion and has so many other non-traditional sword character moves. I'd argue there is a need for a character like Kenshi because right now there's not many zoners in MK11 and NRS always does really creative zoner designs (look how many are in injustice). All of his zoning moves revolve around him swinging a spirit sword which would be awesome.

My bad about Kotal Khan, you guys are right that he's not a bad guy. He's just a new character from MKX that kind of has that "boss" vibe which is what I guess I meant to say. The playable big bad was def shinnok. In this game it's looking to me like Cetrion will be that "playable boss" altho it could be the Kolector too.

I think cetrion is going to be nutral or good.

Why do the black people have to be included based on someone trying to be a SJW?
They have many real life races in this game. They are obviously part of this story. Kenshi & Takeda or out avenging Takedas mom most likely. Maybe they'll be in mk12 or part of dlc.

Those were my 2 most used characters in mkx. Mk11 has plenty of swordsmen but it is missing a telepath with Kenshi and Ermac gone (assuming a new character doesn’t adopt this skill set).

I’m also surprised Kenshi is not on the roster and he’s already been DLC. I’d say your theory of them being in is plausible but not likely. It makes sense but I think the roster slots are pretty much cement at this point. And I don’t think they care if the squares are symmetrical lol.

I think Kenshi has a fan base, he’s one of my favorites. His oni mask ronin skin is the best one in mkx. I also like that his sword is inhabited with his ancestors.

I don’t think Quan Chi has a fan base lol. Is he really your all time favorite character? His portal variation was awesome in MKX, so much fun. Plus he created scorpion and noob. Other than that I don’t really like him as a character. But I agree he has a place with the baddies as much as any other.

There's gonna be tons of unplayable story NPCs. There's absolutely room for previous-timeline Quan Chi to show up for a minute and then go on his merry way, without ever fighting anyone.

Plus the leaders of the revenants this time are Liu Kang and Kitana.

I found it weird the dlc slots are there to begin with. Usually we don’t see the slots until the dlc is released, rather than having empty slots at the games release.

You guys really are setting yourselves up for disappointment here. I'd assume the base roster is 25. 26 if we're lucky and Kahn doesn't count as a base roster character. I wouldn't expect any additional unlockable characters that are not already part of the base roster. Other than the leaked roster screenshot, there hasn't been a single image of the select screen that indicates more than 25. They've even mentioned in an interview that 25 "was a good number".

What I meant was, expect characters like noob and one of the new dudes to be locked at the beginning. They count towards the base roster, while still needing to be unlocked. So 2 secret characters and still a base roster of 25. Same was the case for Quan Chi and Cyber Sub in MK9, or Shinnok in MKX.
