Yeah a bad MU in SC is a lot different than a bad MU in an NRS game. In SC it doesn’t mean they completely shut down some of your tools, it usually means they make doing a move more risky or they make you change your offensive flow. Playing clean soul calibur alone makes match ups easier, knowing when to side step and when to jump/duck things is so key. So is knowing GI gaps.

This is really the first SC game where everyone is broken and has a ton of cheap shit, usually some characters have all the cheap dirt and nobody else did. I am glad that this is how they’ve balanced it, it makes everyone feel powerful.

Everyone feels power. Everyone feels viable, And everyone feels FUN TO PLAY! The most important part of a fighting game and this game still captures that aspect for me.

But i am happy to say that Uncle JBeezY did it. FINALLY FUCKING DID IT! I just reached C ranks! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSS!!

@SaSSolino I just played a long set against a decent Mitsu as Raphael, and I need Azwel's step kills. I ended up winning matches mostly through damage on 3A, 4K, 1K, and 2A/2K because this guy stepped nearly everytime I tried to 66B+K/3B/6B or basically any decent prep transition.

I love this game so much, I think I've been playing it more than MK11 even with Shang being out and a fun character. It's just so satisfying to play, even with some of the random ass hitbox problems it still has. Although MK11 has a similar problem.

Edit: One thing I don't miss since I went back and watched the matches, I won 1 RE out of 17 clashes, that mechanic is not my friend which is unfortunate because Raphael and Tira have great REs.

No, I haven’t played an Azwel in forever, he’s pretty rare online PS4 honestly. I was just joking about how I wish I had Azwel’s step kills because my opponent I played a long set with was constantly stepping and pretty much died from Raphael’s mediocre horizontals and pokes more than anything else.

He's pretty rare on PC too actually. And actually Azwel's sidestep is pretty bad, unlike his backstep. He does have some mean buttons from sidestep though, hard to argue that.

I meant like his buttons that hit people trying to step, his “step killers” or his horizontals basically. I agree that Azwel’s sidestep is kind of ass, it’s about as bad as Gloomy Tira’s, I think Raphael’s SS buttons are about as good as Azwel’s just because his SS is fast and 88K is such a strong CH button.

We’ll have to play some, I can give you some Raph and Tira MU experience for EVO. I’ve got a headset so i can point out frames on moves if you want.

It’s a shame that Sas is on PC because he would probably be able to help you prepare to fight Azwel, who is becoming a pretty common tourney character again from what I hear on the Raph and Zasalamel discords.

I think Ridz name seems familiar, I may have seen him on discord somewhere. Everyone else is a nobody except for Pyro who is a fucking beast. I’ve played his Sieg before, he’s very good.

Edit: I would recommend looking up some of Pyro’s matches on Luxium Channel so you can get a feel of what you’re going up against beforehand. That could be advantageous since it seems you may run up against him.

That is a pretty good bracket to be in. There are no Raphael or Tira players that I recognize in there, but if you get a new bracket in there I’ll tell you what I know if I recognize any of them.
