Best new character is Kotal imo. I think he's a great replacement for shao Kahn. His design, background story and gameplay are tons of fun. I just wish he didn't lose so easily in story mode.

I picked Ashra for best female not in MKX btw. I image an updated version of that character having a small basic move set like Scorpion or Kotal but tons of specials.

All of em but Sheeva are the best females not in mkx tbh, but Sindel is the queen so I'll vote her. I'd still really like to see a re-imagined Ashrah though.
