None, because it's widely agreed emulating Rev. 1.2 on MAME or having an actual arcade cabinet of UMK3 is better than literally any of the modern console ports of UMK3?Tell me when the last tournament for UMK3 was that used an official port of the game.
Tell me when the last tournament for UMK3 was that used an official port of the game.
Thank you.None,
Could you please answer exactly what you meant? Because I'm not sure if you are either extremely ignorant on proper terminology use (which you probably are since you keep insisting on using the official ports when mame rev 1.2 and the actual arcade cabinet are considered vastly superior due to reasons stated above.) or just are an anti emulation/anti arcade cabinet dude (or both lmao) which would be quite moronic considering the actual arcade cabinet would literally be just playing UMK3 Rev. 1.2 with zero emulation or any port shenanigans or any mods or whatever.Thank you.
I’ve already said like a hundred times that I’m against fake home-brewed versions of the game. I don’t think I need to keep re-addressing this but here I go again I guess.Could you please answer exactly what you meant? Also note that Juggs already confirmed UMK3 events still use the vanilla version of the game, but good job ignoring him!
I'm still waiting for you to post evidence of that supposed network of players though.
wow wow, wait a minute.I’ve already said like a hundred times that I’m against fake home-brewed versions of the game. I don’t think I need to keep re-addressing this but here I go again I guess.
I am against creating the mentality of home-brewed versions being regarded the new ‘standard’ and those fake ports being used in tournaments, simple as that.wow wow, wait a minute.
I said using the actual arcade cabinet or emulating Rev 1.2, who the fuck even talked about "fake home-brewed versions" here? Do you actually consider the actual cabinet to be a fake home-brewed version then?
Cmon dude, lay off the coke, it's messing up your brain lol
Also, nice of you to still ignore posting evidence of the network of players, ignoring juggs, etc.
You gotta be a troll. Definitely. Either that or this is the stupidest shit I've ever seen lmao
that's not a port, that's a modified version of the game. Please learn the proper terminology usage. This also confirms you are extremely ignorant on what the terms mean. Seriously, just google it lmao.I am against creating the mentality of home-brewed versions being regarded the new ‘standard’ and those fake ports being used in tournaments, simple as that.
There’s plenty of evidence to support my claims about this small group destroying the legacy of UMK3 and then flooding message-boards with their fake ports. I witnessed 10 years ago this same group wire Dreamcast controllers to an arcade cabinet and hold a tournament like this. This is 100% unethical and that tournament was riddled dropped inputs and all sorts of shenanigans.
You think it’s ok to run a tournament with money on the line on an arcade cabinet with Dreamcast controllers wired to it?that's not a port, that's a modified version of the game. Please learn the proper terminology usage. This also confirms you are extremely ignorant on what the terms mean. Seriously, just google it lmao.
Well, if there's so much evidence, why don't you post it? what's stopping you?
Actually I know what's stopping you: you are trolling. I've never seen anyone be so ignorant that they call a modded version of a game a fucking port lmao. That and talking so much shit about this supposed network of players killing vanilla umk3 and replacing it with a modded version (which you haven't even mentioned wich version it was, to begin with) yet posting no evidence of their wrongdoing, much less of them even existing, although you do mention evidence exists, you still don't post it.
Why would I believe you this even happened when you can't even post evidence of the group even existing, much less doing any wrongdoing? You think it’s ok to run a tournament with money on the line on an arcade cabinet with Dreamcast controllers wired to it?
Why would I believe you this even happened when you can't even post evidence of the group even existing, much less doing any wrongdoing?
Hell, why should I take you seriously when I already noted your extreme ignorance on basic terms and repeatedly ignoring or playing dumb when you are confronted with posting evidence (I'm talking those posts on message boards you keep talking about, not some hearsay evidence about something you supposedly witnessed. Fuck, you didn't even mention what tournament or venue lmao) You don't even name them lol
As I've stated before, I fully believe you are simply trying to troll and failing miserably considering how you keep embarrasing yourself when you say shit like a modded version of a game is a port lol. So when I mod Quake, I'm actually making a fake port of it clearly
If you aren't actually trying to troll, which I really really doubt, then what is stopping you from posting concrete evidence of the group existing, names, their wrongdoing, their posts on message boards you mentioned like thrice already. Like literally, what's stopping you?
Well that’s the difference between people who organize events and people like you who actually have no clue what they’re talking about because you’re sitting there saying it’s smart and ok to ‘homie-rig’ PlayStation 1 pads to an arcade cabinet. Again, this is why you leave the tournament organizing to the professionals like Big E. I’m sure he would have lost his mind if he saw that but unfortunately it was ran by people who were less experienced with this kind of stuff. Don’t get me wrong, Ghaleon and Fugee are great guys and this was in no way shape or form their faults directly but this is what happens a lot of times in smaller communities with isolated control. I’m sure both have gotten way better and I can’t tell you how amazing they were as people but again, leave things to the professionals. It’s really as simple as that and although they were the official TO’s, they didn’t directly organize UMK3. They just helped provide them the platform to organize their tournament and I’m sure they wouldn’t let that ever fly in 2020.Yeah this guy is full of shit, just block him & move on. I’ve been around in the scene for years & you know what people say when I mention how UMK3 is run? They say that that’s smart as hell & shows how dedicated the scene is when their was no good way to run anything since we didn’t have Superguns yet.
I think he’s talking about Kombat Network. Shock and all them. That’d be my guess.Holy shit, you posted something even approximating concrete evidence of the pad rigging thing? I'm shocked, you made me doubt for a moment if you are actually trolling or not.
...and yet, you haven't posted a single shred of evidence for the group of players who killed vanilla UMK3 and paraded whatever version as the standard.
Nor have you answered why you can't post evidence for this last, and much more damning, set of accusations. You can post evidence for the pad rigging but not the much MUCH bigger elephant in the room? ya know, a network of players who supposedly killed vanilla UMK3 and put their version as the standard?
I’m not naming anybody so please don’t slander me and put words in my mouth. My comments don’t speak to everyone who ran, organized and streamed MK. Final Round XV was one of the best organized events of all time and everyone who helped by organizing and streaming were great. Medina did some of the best work streaming and commenting I had ever seen in my life and I stand by what I said almost 10 years ago about Brant being one of the most amazing fathers and husbands I ever seen in my entire life. So, please don’t play this guessing game with me and project your opinion onto mine. It’s dismissive and unethical and it’s exactly why I said I wasn’t going to name people.I think he’s talking about Kombat Network. Shock and all them. That’d be my guess.
I'm merely asking you to post evidence of that network of players who killed vanilla umk3 supposedly, and post evidence of their wrongdoing.Very typical of some you who can’t handle constructive criticism. Someone points out legitimate concerns over how things are handled and they’re dismissed as “trolls.” It’s really funny how much more evident this fact becomes in smaller communities. The funniest part is most of the time these people have never even played offline, Lol. Outside of my job, eSports is literally my life and Halo 3 is my favorite game ever made and I will one day restore its legacy as a competitive game. So, please, spare me the dismissive comments. I’ve been to millions of sanctioned Halo 3 tournaments in some of the most dangerous cities in the US and never dodged one event no matter when and where and helped people get there too. So, unless you’ve been packed like sardines in a dirty, dark basement in Gary, Indiana just to compete in Halo 3 then please reserve your comments about organizing events, it’s literally offensive to me.
Why did one of the greatest UMK3 players, who no offense or anything, but I trust his opinion on this way more than you but why did he like and repost my comment? Why? This is the person in the community that essentially laid the foundation down on how to play UMK3 in the most optimal way possible, why did he like my comment and think what I said was valid? Do you think it has anything to do with the fact that he’s basically studied and mastered his craft in this game and knows what he’s talking about when it comes to the game’s engine or is he just trolling too?I'm merely asking you to post evidence of that network of players who killed vanilla umk3 supposedly, and post evidence of their wrongdoing.
I called you a troll because you are extremely ignorant on basic terminology to the point of it being unbelievable (seriously, you are the very first person I have ever seen to a call a modded game or "homebrewed version of a game" a fucking port lmao) as well as your refusal to post any and all evidence surrounding this network of players, as well as their wrongdoing. It doesn't help you mention you weren't a part of the scene and that you have created this account very recently. It gives off an impression that you came here to troll honestly.
And also "So, unless you’ve been packed like sardines in a dirty, dark basement in Gary, Indiana just to compete in Halo 3 then please reserve your comments about organizing events, it’s literally offensive to me. "
Calm down snowflake lmao, was Haketh too harsh in finding issue with your statements? Ironic for someone who says that they can't handle constructive criticism.
Not to mention: "I’m not naming anybody so please don’t slander me and put words in my mouth "
Why not? You have evidence of these network of players existing, right? and them doing what you described they did to vanilla UMK3, right? you said they even flooded message boards criticizing vanilla umk3 and putting their version as the standard. So why not post it? You could literally prove every single one of us wrong if you did that, but you strangely seem to refuse to do so for some reason. Maybe because you are BSing us and are just trying to troll, and failing miserably?
Cool, post the evidence of this network of players existing then, and doing what you said they did. What's stopping you?Why did one of the greatest UMK3 players, who no offense or anything, but I trust his opinion on this way more than you but why did he like and repost my comment? Why? Sit down, junior.
Because everything you said in that post for the most part is true. MAME is a headache and not very accessible for new players. This is why I’ve wanted a re-release of UMK3 on current gen with good netcode. New players could actually get into the game like many have expressed interest in. Only to be discouraged by MAME and the fact that the player base isn’t very large. ded knows what’s up.Why did one of the greatest UMK3 players, who no offense or anything, but I trust his opinion on this way more than you but why did he like and repost my comment? Everything I’ve said in all of these posts is true. I’ve even opened up to you guys about my problems back home with my Brother-in-law as well. I don’t say things just to hear myself talk, these are legitimate things I’m bringing up and no one can deny that. Maybe I am a bit of a purist but when it comes to tournaments and how the public perceives things, then I think it’s important that we have integrity and accessibility in mind at the very least. I’m not new to this stuff Guy.Because everything you said in that post for the most part is true. MAME is a headache and not very accessible for new players.
