Match-up Discussion Rev0lver's Lex Matchup Chart (Peer Pressure Edition 2014)

Come On Die Young
After a blocked ground nb you cannot dash or reversal into anything because they will get stuffed by the nextground nb. You can do a lance blast but your eating 2% chip plus the 8% from the ground nb and your back to square 1. Trait is not free. Your only chance of getting trait is after a hkd ands that happens rarely against cyborg.
Yes it is free actually. And that tradeoff you're talking about is in your favor in damage but not in the situation. You get knocked down, I can set up probes or something else. I can also charge my trait and backdash IAFB's to keep it.

*edit* i noticed you said ground nb. that's helping me get in though, and that's the mixup. ianb i can counter, ground nb i can jump and get closer. if i'm midscreen and you do a ground nb i'm able to knock you down if i read it and play my game.

Lex's jump is so floaty I can just see lex in the air and air nb. Nb is safe at max corp charge range and I don't do ground nb anywhere closer.

And I'm pretty sure lex can't do anything in between ianb. Maybe lance blast, but I can block after and reversal another fireball and the hit stun on the fireball keeps you from doing anything else except to jump.

Both of the things you're saying are dependent on you waiting after a fireball. If you're waiting to see me do something or anticipating a lance blast against a followup ianb, that's giving me extra time to do something else. I have counters to what you're doing, and you have counters to my counters that can also be countered. Basically. It's a mixup game in zoning, but eventually I'm going to get something to put me at an advantageous situation to play my game.

I'm also pretty sure I can charge trait in time to backdash another nb after an ianb. I'm not sure if I can on ground fireballs though, I have to test that, but it would probably work.

Your 1st hit of trait goes away and you get hit by the ianb after your back dash. All these options your saying led has doesn't get him far in the long run. You still end up full screen with no trait. Your only real way of getting in is a lucky air corpcharge which I can punish and send you back full screen.

No, I'm talking about using the backdash invincibility. If I trait backdash your ianb i still keep my trait. It's the same thing I do in the Superman mu

I agree for the most part, but once Lex gets you in the corner it's 10-0 GG

Also I kinda feel like Lex has the advantage against Adam.

I've always felt that too, but Black Adam has some good options in the matchup. Me and Rico agreed a while ago that if it weren't for Adam's damage output whenever he can find a hit it might be in Lex's favor.

So, if it wasn't for hitbox zod, lex would be viable?
Basically, yeah. I think Lex is very tournament viable as long as you're avoiding those Zod players.
