What's new

Recommend me a game by posting a song from its soundtrack

wsj515

This is my billionth life cycle.

Had to necro this thread because this soundtrack might be the best I've heard from any game. Haven't even played it, but due to soundtrack alone I'm super excited for it to come to console.

Dankster Morgan

It is better this way
Vergil's battle theme from Devil May Cry 5.

Bury The Light is awesome and really encapsulates Vergil's character. It being a dynamic theme that changes as you play makes it even better, but it stands on it's own for fans of the character.

Same can be said for the themes for Nero - Devil Trigger, and of course Dante - Subhuman. It's cool hearing pieces of Devil Trigger in Bury the Light and vise versa, as Nero learns that he is in fact Vergil's son.

This is also the best character action game of all time, and Dante (and probably Vergil and Nero too) have more depth to their move-set than anything you will find in MK.

Check mate!

First song was the Command Fodder opening. Nice reggae song to get you in the mood I suppose, game looks cool! Looks like the Devs had fun making it from the music video.

Alien Shooter might be the most generic name for a game lol surprised it's not a Galaga clone. But it rocks. Kinda looks like Smash TV

Be pure, be vigilant, behave. The terminators are watching.
An arcade style game where you climb on the bodies of the enemies you kill! Sick, never heard of it.
Nice remix. Kinda reminds me of the Axiom Verge soundtrack but obviously this is a throwback

Saltea Moonspell

"Mind Over Matter" I dont mind, and X dont matter

Hey man!

CF is a game I still play every 3-5 years ever since. The awesome thing about this game, is that when you are with friends you can sit and play this game all together. Each player controller one solder, and you work on beating the campaign - you play by turns, or so, thats how I use to play it back in the days on Amiga:)

AS - this is a game that I use to play at work, about 15 years ago. Its a perfect game to kill 10-15 minutes. Its all about the High score : )
No attachment, no story, just brutal killing and good music.

Skullgirls has an amazing soundtrack. This is one of my favorites, it hypes up any match!

And the variant for the empty stage is just beautiful:

Not fighting games:

Another gem from the 2000s

Never tried Skullgirls, assist fighters aren't really my jam but the tracks are very cool. Especially the "empty" version. Very old school, and I like it when games have alternative versions of songs

unce unce unce unce unce unce never heard of Vampire Masquerade but nice jam. I hope you can violently crash the party.

I dig the Hitman track as well, never did play that series but people seem to hold it in high regard

Thought I would add to these

Interesting to hear some of these songs from games I haven't played, thanks for that :D
Unfortunately I took too long on this one and can't find the tracks!

West City from DBFZ is a nice track. To me, DBZ ost is the classic American Foulcnor sound but I also can enjoy the original Japanese music.. somehow I think Fighterz found a way to not sound like either but still provide a fitting soundtrack that also works well as FG music. I really dug Ginyu's theme! It's a big soundtrack too. Also kinda of reminds me of Sonic Adventure in a weird way

I couldn't figure out what all the tracks were but I believe track 1 was this:

Very cool. Not the biggest KoF guy but I do like to get bodied in KoF98 on fightcade on occasion. Someone let me know when they add sports team back in. Series has great music though. I love this arranged version of this track:

Catchy, makes me want a smoke and a coffee :coffee:

By the "Port Sulpher Band".

I went to YT to see and I still don't know what the game is like but I see they just released a trailer for everyone's boy Ghostface! Or maybe this is a sequel? I'll check it out

Jynks

some heroes are born, some made, some wondrous
It was an old PC game.. one of the early Adventurer Games by Sierra back in 87. One of my all time favs, probably as I played it so much back in the 80s.

For puzzle lovers:

For platformer lovers:

To this day still have a lot of tracks from these OSTs on my playlist. Even detached from their games, they're just great music.
Really dug both these tracks. Sigils of our Name was chilling. That poor kitty looks scared

The Dustforce artstyle looks pretty cool, reminds me of old flash games. Thanks for posting!

Whole OST is pretty cool if you happen to be into creepy, spacy synth sounds
Did someone say creepy, spacy synth sounds? Some of the old Metroid, Axiom Verge, something like the Terminator theme? I could always use more creepy space synth sounds.. This was a pretty cool track

I never earned my badge for beating Ghosts and Goblins, though I have played it a bunch of times through the years. I love those Capcom NES platformers so I have to go back to it one day but I just don't think I have the patience for 1 hit deaths

Sure! One of the popular songs from the Grand Theft Auto V soundtrack is "Radio Ga Ga" by Queen. It's an energetic and iconic song that perfectly captures the spirit of the game. Webteknohaber GTA 5 is an open-world action-adventure game with a compelling story, immersive gameplay, and a vast virtual world to explore. It offers a blend of intense missions, thrilling heists, and a sandbox environment where you can freely roam and cause mayhem. Give it a try if you enjoy immersive storytelling, action-packed gameplay, and an impressive soundtrack!
Get that hustle bro

I can't say I remember this song being in the game, perhaps I should have changed stations more. I absolutely crushed the GTA4 Tuff Gong Radio channel mostly Bob Marley but it introduced me to Steven Marley too which was much appreciated.

Here are some suggestions from me, some of my favorite games ever made.

Firstly, I'm a huge fan of Pokemon, and Pokemon Legends Arceus that came just 3 years ago in 2022 is easily one of the best ever. It's a single player only game that changes the format of the gameplay after so many years and also having a more mature tone to it, and the story is awesome. Other Pokemon games now follow suit and Legends Z-A coming later this year with even more gameplay changes and more story focus.

Another game that came in 2022 that I absolutely adore is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge, always bin a huge TMNT fan, also played tons of side scrolling beat'em ups, and this is without question the best TMNT game ever made and best beat'em up game ever made. It even takes a few elements from Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter, having the playable characters taking moves from both IP's and even have combo system that is kinda similar to Mortal Kombat being based on juggles.

Now going from a classic concept to classic games, I got my fair share of side scrolling platformers, and Maui in Cold Shadow is one of my all time favorites. And yes, this is a Disney game, and yes, this is Donald Duck. What's great about this game is the wacky and over-the-top comedic nature of this game coming with classic platformer gameplay.

Then we go to fighting games, I've said it before and I will say it again, that Marvel Super Heroes from the Marvel Vs. Capcom series is easily one of the most underrated fighting games ever, not just from Capcom but overall. The Gem system in this game is actually well made and the presentation is still great even today. And you can get this game in the MVC Collection that was released not too long ago.

Here are a couple more.

Keeping wit fighting games, Soul Calibur is my favorite 3D fighting game series ever, and Soul Calibur 4 is my all-time favorite in the series (next to Soul Calibur 1). I just loved the vibe and atmosphere of that game, also you got great amount of content for the time of it's release. Just an excellent game all around.

And finally, being a big Yu-Gi-Oh fan for a long time, one of the more unique video games of in that series is Yu-Gi-Oh: Reshef of Destruction. This is an old-school RPG, one of the very, VERY few story-driven Yu-Gi-Oh games ever (not canon to the anime, BTW, it's an original story). Now this game is very hard, like old-school-gaming hard, but the story, the characters, and huge amount of content defiantly make up for it so it's still an amazing game. And you can get this game in the Yu-Gi-Oh Early Days Collection along with 13 other games that just came out last week.
