King of Edenia.
In variation 3 I'll rather have the lighting than that wave move you can amp. Just seems underwhelming and out of place
Big money DLC guests + easy as hell meta for casuals >>> innovative and interesting competitive meta. At least that's the biggest and most inescapable impression this game has given me since launch.Maybe the big changes for KP2 is that the are FINALLY allowing for custom variations on kombat league or something? No? Yeah, I know, I don't believe that too, just wishful thinking.
V2 all the way. Stagger potential for days, what I can guarantee will be one of THE most annoying moves in the game (palm strike), a potentially useful anti-zoning tool, and a secondary combo special that doubles as an anti-air. All of this plus not a single base ability lost to variation specials overriding them means V2 will also have the main combo ender / armor breaker, the baseline combo extender, a projectile, and the phasing invincibility. What variation are you guys most interested in so far? I expected to be drawn to one but all 3 looked like they have pretty good tools.
V1 looked cool but to me it didn't feel like Rain, more like a Raiden-Fujin fusion. If the bolt is not too unsafe I might give it a go.
V2 seems quite impressive to me cause I usually go for combo heavy variations. Also restand is +++
V3 was quite flashy looking but I sooo wish the water bubble projectile was universal instead.
Overall, to me V2 stands out the most.
So we should hate them more? Got itcan you find the link where this was stated, I've seen it quoted many times but never with any source...
this is the closest source that I could find and it doesn't state quite what you and others repeat.
Ed: "Rain was a DLC character in, um, MK9. So, the only thing I would say to that is, his chances would be less likely."
Ed Boon never stated that. The original IGN Gamescom 2014 interview is no longer on YouTube. But I do have a video that shows snippets of him stating Repeat DLC is "Less Likely."
V2 has a restand not V3. But I'm wondering if V3 can use 2 launchers in the same combo as well. Maybe if you hit the bubble first then it should but is it fast enough to cancel into it from any of his strings. I'm also wondering if the low special launches in the corner or maybe even works as an extender.V3 is the closest thing to mk9 rain but without lighting. I bet he can land a beefy combo with his chuck norris kick and end in restand bubble into 50/50s keep sipping that v2 cool aid cause v3 is a problem.
His water bubble can restand with meter. Its one of the directional inputs.V2 has a restand not V3. But I'm wondering if V3 can use 2 launchers in the same combo as well. Ohhhhhh I see it now. It looked like he just gets up really fast. But like I said, is that bubble even fast enough to combo from strings? Also, for this one he needs meter anyway. I'd rather use it to combo for damage and end the combo with a string that knocks down point blank. He has 2 of those and I'm pretty sure they give him free crossup. What? 41:11 clearly shows Scorpion land on his feet
Doesn't appear that Super Kick is replaced by anything in any of the variations or at least it wasn't mentioned. The only one I noted was in V1 where the lightning rift / dash replaces the bubble dash.Does Super Kick get replaced by anything? Wonder if you can make a custom with Bubble and Lighting. Feel like the Water Gun could also be really good, restands for days.
