Can you get around it with a US PS4 account or similar? Obviously you shouldn't have to but there are usually ways around these things.

I'm considering buying one of these to avoid ever having to play with anyone from Russia again.

Hmm, interesting.... I'm not sure if that can manipulate the servers though.

The most straight forward way to do it is just to get a US copy of the game, the problem is that it wouldn't be optimized to connect with other players from intercontinental distances, which makes it a crap shoot as to how well the netcode will handle it.

It won't manipulate servers no, just stops hosts from outside a certain (adjustable) distance with the Geo filter stuff. It also has QOS (quality of service) which basically prioritises traffic to a certain device over anything else on your network. Most decent routers do this but but the freebies from Virgin/BT and the like won't.

Same here, was already thinking about buying one just for it. And maybe sf5 too.

What exclusives does the ps4 have that are any good? I've seen until dawn gameplay, that looks pretty good.

im not sure tbh,I haven't seen anything that really grabbed my attention although 'bloodbourne' looks quite entertaining.

Uncharted 4 is all you should need to justify buying a PS4. Bloodbourne, Deep Down and The Order 1886 all look pretty good too. Gone a bit off topic now.

Tweet Boon maybe? I can't see it changing though and it's probably more to do with Sony than NRS given MS consoles don't have this issue.

Oddworld: New 'n Tasty looks pretty fun. Technically it should be a multiplatform game but some weird NDA keeps going on behind the scenes that's preventing it from being released on anything other than PS4.

The guy is caked in all sorts of NDA by Warner Bros, no way in hell would he answer to this lol. Besides, the fact that no other fighting game or fighting game developer implores this shit on Sony systems definitely leaves the ball in NRS's court as to what's going on.

SF5 definitely won't be region locked on PS4. Especially not if it's cross-compatible with the PC version and Sony are funding R&D themselves.

It does seem odd, though why no issue with Xbox? Could be copyright related to WB? No idea tbh but frustrating either way.

its not acceptable, the community is small as it is to split it, so they can do this, plus we can play people from Australia for some reason there EU my Geography is terrible but if we can play them we can play the US.

I have ps4 , my console is pal, i have psn us acc. I will buy Mkx pal . So if i play with my psn us acc , i can only play with players from us region ! is it correct? So what happens if i sign up psn uk acc ?

No you need the u.s copy to play with u.s players. @DreadKnight1 can explain how he got through the region locked problem.
