Nitara looks really interesting with lots of combo potential. Here are my day 1 combos. Would be interested to see everyone else’s!

Notation
ATTACKS
1 – front punch (fp): square on PS, X on Xbox
2 – back punch (bp): triangle on PS, Y on Xbox
3 – front kick (fk): X on PS, A on Xbox
4 – back kick (bk): Circle on PS, B on Xbox

DIRECTIONS
u - UP
d - DOWN
b – BACK (away from opponent)
f - FORWARD (towards opponent)

JUMPS
j - jump
ji – jump in (Jump towards opponent)
nj - neutral jump (Jump directly up)

OTHERS
~ - cancel
xx – cancel
(ex) – indicates EX version of a special
THRW - throw (L1 on PS, Left Bumper on Xbox)
SS - stance switch
K - Kameo
K(standing) - A Kameo which leaves you in a stun state, eg. Sareena b+K, subzero f+K

NItara is looking pretty spicy.

221 xx db4 (divekick), d1, bf2 is a side switch combo. you can enhance the bf2 for more damage.
221 air dash (LT)--> ____.
That gave me the idea for 221~db4, 12~db2~bf2

which nets her quite a bit of damage for only one bar without kameos

i'm thinking ending combos with aerial 242 db4 instead of 242 bf2 may be the way to go. bf2 leaves you far away and whiffing dive kick as your ender leaves you right in their face.

Maybe this has been said before and i missed it.
I think for max damage from a grounded punish midscreen there is a better air-combo path than ji24~SS+f~242…

1212~ji124~SS+forward and down~242~bf2(ex)~242~bf2 is around 400dmg for one bar

while not max dmg, the knockdown is imo awesome in corner with this one:
i like to go for grounded punish~nj~124~SS+d~124~db4.
242 can work but 124 is more consistent 4 me.
If you do the last 124 low enough to the ground you’re at 53f advantage for setups with air dash/kameo/blood buff etc

I’ve updated the OP with some of the newer bnbs.

Also, the freeze kameos (subzero and frost) allow you to go into ex df4 before dashing up and continuing a full combo. If you take into account the healing you get (between 60 and 70 even taking into account the sacrificed 50) you’re looking at a 430-460 damage differential.

Edit:
You can also jump in after a freeze but dash nets more damage/healing.

which kameo have u guys been using?

i tried goro yesterday and really liked him so far :)

with goro i found the following starters that seem pretty handy:

b4 into close ambush - so far ive went for f1 bf2 ex to extend, solid 30% dmg

i used this mainly off of
b2 - (f)ss - j2 - b4 - Kameo

114 into goro ambush works well too, its hard to get in and do f1 bf2 tho, so ive done a short jump into bf1 ex

114 - up kameo - quick jump into bf2 ex etc

i really wanna do stomp setups with j124 db4, but getting the timing seems very difficult still, ur hands have to be all over the pad lol

Yeah, I wrote a thread about Nitara using Goro Kameo; it is quite fun to use haha.

The recharge time does feel like it takes forever; they’re all slow recharge.

i’ve been using some routes to optimize dmg, it’s easy to get a bit too meter happy with all the options Nitara has so want to post some optimal 1-bar stuff without kameo.

* Max damage 1212 starter, 1 bar midscreen:
1212, dash forward, 4~db2~db4(ex), ji124~df+SS~242~bf2 (440.37)

Note: Bf2 ender will whiff if u don’t end up near corner ( aka u started the combo on far left/right & not in middle of screen ). U can cut it short at 24~df2 (418.23) OR if u assess positioning upfront
use this combo instead:
1212, dash forward, 4~db2~db4(ex), ji12~df+SS~242~bf2 (422.92)

* Good oki 1212 starter, Midscreen 1 bar, leaves u at +53.:
1212, dash forward, 4~db2~db4(ex), neutral jump 12~df+SS~24~db4 (382.97)
Leaves you at tip of f1 range and you’re plus enough to jump over them or do a meaty jump in with air forward dash

*max damage, 221 starter, 1 bar midscreen:
221~db4, 22~db2~bf2(ex), ji24~df+SS~242~bf2 (432.70)

*good oki, 221 starter, 1 bar midscreen, leaves u at +45:
221~db4, 22~db2~bf2(ex), ji1~f+SS~124~db4 (389.16)
Again plus enough to do what you want on their wake-up

Feel free to improve on these or use them in your OP

These look sick. I’ll jump into training mode and will probably update the OP later today :)

EDIT:
It seems the trick for landing these is to make sure you hit the enemy with s4 at the height of their launch from 1212.

I’ve also been messing with Jax kameo, after five kick ender you can call in ground pound and pressure with f4/b2 which will armour break and launch for full combo. Delayed wakeup still beats it though.

Yes I’m enjoying the jax cheapness as well whenever I land a good knockdown. It’s a shame his energy blast assist can’t make 1212 safe without the gap. Using jax feels like a reasonable trade-off, you get super strong setplay but he doesn’t really help out in the neutral like other Kameo’s can.

about the combo, yes. S4 needs to hit them high enough to connect the 124 follow-up but it’s pretty consistent for me now. also found corner versions for it which i’ll post later today. Though they are a bit harder, I feel 44% dmg is worth it

Turns out you can get 1 bar db4 combos from her low starter using her db2 2in1 cancel.

I know her basekit can’t do much with overhead/low but maybe this can serve as some inspiration to combine with kameo’s.

you can do b4~db2~db4(ex), neutral jump 124~df+SS~242~bf2 for 386.08, also pretty good option as a side switch combo.

If you see it’s blocked you can kinda scramble yourself out with an ex airdash instead of committing to divekick. It’s not safe but better than doing b4~bf2 on block at -22 in their face. Most characters won’t have 1 punish to cover all air dash follow ups

apart from that, I just think it looks cool

Can you post a video? How’re you cancelling the db2 into db4 on whiff?

Hey man, sorry I’m unable to record

Probably should have mentioned this: you need to invert your inputs for the divekick because once your db2 has whiffed you’re already on the other side of opponent. So to correct my post it’s actually inputted as
B4~db2~df4(ex)… hope this helps.

It’s a useful combo for situational punishes.
A very good example might be to punish Sareena’s blade toss assist that people spam 24/7.
Nitara can’t punish it with 1212 or 224 as the returning blades will hit her. Her sweep can punish it because she goes right under the blades.

With that in mind, instead of settling for just a b4 knockdown, you can get a full combo.
If people do blades in a blockstring, duck-block the first 2 blades and then do the b4~db2~divekick combo, it’s a clean punish every time.

You can only cancel whiffed air specials lnto ex air specials. Maybe you’re not hitting the ex-part of divekick on the correct timing ?

apart from that, you need to input ex divekick near the end of recovery of the whiffed db2. You should not input it beforehand like you do with kombo strings
