I cannot describe in words how much fun I had at this tourney. It was right on time for me because I was just going through some rough times in my personal life, so this helped relieve some stress. I cannot believe this actually went down, still hyped about it, and wish we were all still there. I plan on getting back into the game, so you'll see me around the forums more often. Anyways, thanks to everyone who showed up to make this possible.

To the players who didn't show up, we don't wanna hear about how nice you are online, and what you would've done, show up and prove that you are a good player. Besides, what good is to be nice when you're the only one who knows it? Come prove it.

Shock- I wanna thank you so much for pushing me to come to this tourney man. I enjoyed all the conversations we had, and it was a pleasure to meet you finally lol. We didn't get to play much due to you having to setup, but the few matches we did get to play I enjoyed. When you're on, you're on. You have a very solid all around game with about 6 characters. I was impressed with the way you handled Unmasked Sub. You're a great guy and good player overall man, thanks again.

Phil- you deserve an award for how hard you work at these tournies. Everytime I seen you, you were always doing something work related. You know where you stand with me man enogh said. You have potential to be a really good player and with a little more practice you will be a beast. It was very nice meeting you and I look forward to seeing you again at future tournies.

Reo (Resident Evil Online)- I remember when you 1st said you wanted to learn this game, and now look at you. You came along way in very little time because you were determined to get good at this game. You get better and better everytime I see you play. Your adapting ability is just on another level, I've never seen anyone adapt to situations as fast you do. Overall cool guy and great player much respect to you REO.

Juggs- I've known you for awhile now and it was a pleasure to actually finally meet you in person. You're HS is one of the better ones I've faced period. I know you hate online play, and at this tourney you proved that delay had a big effect on your game. Stick with HS because he's a character who can compete against the whole cast, so no need for being good with anyone else really. You performed great for your 1st tourney and good job man. I hope you can make it in Feb.

Red Saleen- When I first saw you I thought you were Dan at first. I know, lol @ that. You're a cool dude and I enjoyed talking with you. I had no idea you been around the community that long, but It was a pleasure to meet you.

CD- We go way back to when the game 1st dropped on XBL. I have learned alot from playing you over the years. Your mind games and your ablitly to read people is just out of this world. You're good at just about every game you touch. I am so glad that you decided to come out, even though it was very last minute. I am still amazed you played that well on a contorller that you don't normally use, and you didn't touch the game in about a year or 2. It was a pleasure to meet you.

Storms- Even though I didn't stay in your room like I was suppose to, thanks for giving me the option to stay there. You're a very nice guy and hard worker also. I seen you making sure that you had all the footage recorded. Hopefully we get to spend more time at the next tourney.

Tay- You have potenital to be nice at this game I can see it. Your Sonya is not bad for starters. Your a cool dude and I enjoyed the little time that I did get to speak with you.

Marvin- When it comes to styles you are in a class of your own. I have never seen anyone karajab the way you do. Marvin is the prime example of what level you can reach by playing on a stick. Your kitana is the best one I've seen period. Your game is very strong and very hard to break down. I just can't get over that you can kara jab like that. You're a true champion and congrats on winning the tourney.

Tom Brady- You are hands down the best MKDC player period. I already knew that back when I use to play the game. That time when you owned BTT that's when I knew you were ahead of everyone. I can tell you have much love for the game and community. I think everyone should have the mindset you have when it comes to competing in fighting games, which is to play offline. It was nice meeting you, and next time I will enter mkdc to make you proud lol.

Riu- I had no idea you were even there the whole time until Sunday. We didn't really get to spend much time, but it was still nice to meet you.

Jago, Dan, and Check- I didn't get to spend much time with you guys due to me paying alot of attention to UMK3. We still know one another and hopefully we get better acquainted at future tournies. I could still tell you all were very nice dudes.

Rob- You also should get a reward for hardworking. I know configuring those damn controls was a MOTHERFUCKER!!!! You have solid skill and with more practice you will be good to go. You're just flat out a cool dude, and I appreciate you putting up with my lame ass pad lol. It was a pleasure to meet you man.

Nit aka Summoning- Your Kung Lao and Cyrax will be really good once shock is through with you. I know it's probably different for you since you play mk2 a bit more than UMK3. Once you get kunglao's inf down, it's a wrap. I like your Cryax gameplay though, I gotta admit. I get a kick out of you throwing all those bombs lol. It was a pleasure to meet you and I'm sure I will see you again at future tournies.

Arez- I know we use to go at it in the past, but honestly you are mad cool. You're also a very funny guy. You are not bad at all for you to just get into umk3. You should have came back on Sunday but I understand when reality gets in the way. Anyways, It was great to finally meet you.

AC/Simon- LOL I came back to edit this because I cannot believe I forgot about you man. You're a strong player and cool dude. I thank you for going to get food for us, and offering to pick me up and take me back. Your Kano and Kabal is very good, just work on what we discussed. It was a pleasure to meet you.

To anyone I missed, don't feel left out because it was still a pleasure to meet you. I hope to see all of you again at future tournies. This experience has made me reach another level of respect for everyone who showed up. With that being said, I wish everyone the best, peace, love, good health, and happiness.

I started going through the video late last night just to see how much i could get done, and i honestly got about 3 hours done already. Done as in, all the loading times and character selections etc are edited out and i have the names of everyone who played in MKA since we all used our own profiles. Im willing to bet there are a few mistakes, so hopefully you can try and point them out if i got some of you mixed up.

So i will just go in order from start to finish. If anyone wants to edit the Tom and Reo stuff from MKDC, then i will upload it, because that happened last.

Theres going to be a good 2 hours out of everything that i have no idea who was playing. Theres one file thats over an hour long and im not in any of it, so i have no idea who was playing that whole time. Gonna need your help.

Overall between editing, saving, converting to 1080 and uploading to youtube, i could possibly have everything done within the next 2-3 weeks. I'll keep you posted on how its going. Its too bad some of it never got recorded, like me and tom in MKDC or me and aldagods second series on saturday as well ;(

Thanks to Scheiss for the help on the exam yesterday. Its going to end up being an A, Scheiss, dont worry. The guy doesnt even know the answers to his own questions on the exam.

Gonna take the other one soon, then get back to editing.

Nice posts, guys. Thanks for the love.

Champion
This is going to be LONG.

First off, let me apologize to anyone whom I did not get a chance to spend much time with. I spend alot of time running around working at these tournaments and it's just the nature of the beast...I wouldn't have it any other way though.

The biggest shoutout unequivocally must go to Big E. He is simply the mastermind with the master plan and an absolute master of his craft. NECXI was an absolute success, and that is putting it very lightly. Great stuff, as always, and I am honored to be among the people he entrusts to help make NEC be one of the premiere tournaments of the year. Eric, you are THE man.

Before I make specific shoutouts though, I have to say: Almost all of you know me…I am sincere with my feelings and emotions. Over the course of the last 2+ years that I have been doing this, I have made some very close lifelong friends that reach far beyond the scope of just Mortal Kombat. The experiences leading up to NEC, the work that went into things, not just by me, but by other committed community members has created so many new friendships and memories that it only continues to motivate me to do more.

Ok, on to my main shoutouts: If I miss anyone, I apologize in advance and I will edit it later and add those that I may have forgotten.

Shock: What more need be said outside of our discussion on Sunday at NEC? That tournament was a dream come true for me, and no doubt for you as well. UMK3 is finally getting the recognition and respect that you had been telling people it deserved for close to 15 years now. Also, from now on, you’re right…2 UMK3 setups at all times for speed purposes. You are also the single best player of luggage cart tetris on the planet.

Summ0ning: Simply put, an indispensible member of the NE MK Team. A phenomenal player with a completely unorthodox style, you have accomplished something with Kung Lao that is simply amazing…people are copying your style. I expect to see more of your style of play from other people soon due to your dominance with him. KI Rules.. and yes, we will start having earlier setups of MK2 on it’s tourney day.

Dark Rob: Another completely indispensible member of the NE MK Team. You are a workhorse, and an amazingly dedicated player, supporter and friend. It’s a true honor to walk into a tournament with you knowing that the entire NE can rely on you to take care of business… oh and that H.Smoke of yours… I need some advil… IT’S PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME!

AC1984: Yet another irreplaceable member of the NE MK Team. You are an amazing player, a dedicated MK Fan and one a great friend…you were willing to support MK even in the games you didn’t particularly care for…I respect that greatly. Looking forward very much to our next offline matches…

Storms: Your dedication to MK knows no bounds. You have helped to cultivate the community in such a great way. You have been an integral part of associating and affiliating multiple dedicated MK Sites and selflessly purchased a UMK3 cabinet, which you labeled with TYM/UMK/CMK names. Your camera work recently has been second to none and a much appreciated relief for me so that I can focus on setups, brackets and whatnot… you are another indispensible member of the NE MK Team.

Kaldragon: You don’t go to as many tournaments anymore, but you are a friggin’ pack mule bro. You work non-stop and make sure that things are taken care of. It doesn’t even matter if you fall asleep on luggage carts for people to take pics of to post on facebook…we love you regardless. Great showing in SFA3 as well…especially since you basically went in cold.

Marvirrasta: Congratulations on your win, and seriously, thank you for coming from such a great distance to play and support us. I look forward to getting to know you more and seeing you at future tournaments.... Felicitaciones por la victoria, y en serio, gracias por venir de tan lejos para jugar y nos apoyan. Espero conocer a usted más y ver que en los torneos futuros.

Crazy Dominican: What an amazing talent to come out cold and be as dominant as you were. It had been way too long since I last saw you at Castle Golf and it was great to see you again. Now that I have your number, I’ll definitely make sure you know when and were we get together in between tournaments so we can play more often offline.

REO: Holy hell do you amaze me. Great job in your 3rd ever major…and to go up against talent like you did…unbelievable. More matches to come at Dark Rob’s in the near future… you’ve quickly become a dedicated member of the NE MK Team.

Juggernaut: It was a long time in the coming, and I am beyond ecstatic that you made it here and did so damn well. You have earned a great deal of respect from the entire MK community. Moreso, you gained a dedicated and loyal friend in me… if you need anything, you know you can count on me.

DC Hustle: Another man that I am proud to call my friend. Talking on the phone and on IM for a long time now, and we have definitely gotten to know each other and I’m glad to have you as a friend.… again, if you ever need anything, you know all you need to do is call me. Great job at the tournament, and I definitely look forward to playing you more often.

LI Joe: Not your best outing, but you never play! How you can be so damn good when you never touch the game still leaves me confused…LOL. Always a pleasure to see you bro.

SweetJohnnyCage: Not so sweet when playing UMK3…this man becomes JOHNNY CAGE RAGE! Rob and I will be dragging you to more offline gatherings so you can get that H.Smoke where it belongs. Looking forward to chilling more often, bro, and definitely looking forward to your Godlike ECT3.

NoDoubtArion: You are, in my opinion, deserving of the “Outstanding Achievement” award for UMK3 at NEC. You are, without a doubt, the breakout player of the tournament, surprising many players with your skills. And you thought you’d do badly… I’m glad you came to NEC bro… I’ll see you at Winter Brawl.

Riu48: We didn’t chill too much, but you’re a local NYer, so you’ll def. be hearing from me for some offline UMK3.

THTB: Was great to see you yet again. That Sonya of yours will be beastly in no time. It’s a shame you don’t live in NY/NJ…LOL.

Dan: No need to be scared when I’m yelling… I’m just yelling so people hear me. It was great meeting you and I’m sorry we didn’t get to chill much or play much, but I’m definitely looking forward to seeing you at future tournaments and getting to chill with you and some of the other 3d guys more often.

Check: One of these days, you’ll have to explain to me why call yourself that…LOL. Seriously, it was beyond a pleasure to shake the hand of the man I’ve been talking to for quite a while now…and shake the hand of the man I call a friend. You are an amazing 3D MK player and you are no slouch at UMK3 either. With you living so close, we will surely be playing quite a bit of UMK3 more often.

Arez GoW: Eric, it was simply a genuine pleasure to meet you. You called me out of the blue to send your condolences when my mom passed away and I knew then that you are what I call “good people”. You are a true friend, a dedicated MK player, and one hell of a funny guy. I look forward to dragging you out to Winter Brawl bro…

Tom Brady: A talented MK player, both 2d and 3d, and prob. one of the most, if not THE most dedicated tournament attendees among us. Over the course of the last year that I’ve gotten to know you, you’ve proven to be an wealth of knowledge of many things MK, as well as a talented Tekken player. I was very surprised to see that MKDC held up well under high level play with those 2 simple rules, and I will gladly run MKDC at any tournament we go to when we have the numbers to run it. Glad to have you as a friend bro, and looking forward to seeing you again at Winter Brawl.

Jago: Didn’t get to spend too much time with you, but I definitely noticed your 3d MK skill. Just because I was working most of the time didn’t mean I didn’t see…. Much love and respect for your game and your dedication for coming to NEC… hopefully Winter Brawl too.

Dookiebrain, David GEM, and Btbb99: It was great to meet both David and Btbb, both of your MK2 reputations precede you. Dookie, I’ve known you for like 2 years now and this is the 2nd tournament I’ve seen you at and it was a pleasure to see you again. I hope to see all of you, and hopefully more MK2 heads at Winter Brawl.

Hard Bread: Non-MK player, but from Brooklyn and interested in trying UMK3… so a possible new recruit… not to mention the SICKEST V-ism Rolento player I have ever seen. We played an absolutely EPIC series in the SFA3 tournament in the loser’s bracket where I eliminated him from the tournament, but to be completely honest, it could have been either of us… I just got the lucky draw this time. I hope to get to play you more often.

While TYM staff has gone to ECT2 and SJ... I have to say that NECXI has been TYM's most dominant imprint in the FGC to date.

And its been one of the very first times that what I visioned to happen with the cab.... everything went as I had hoped and imagined. It was surreal and is only he start of something we should all be proud of.

AREZ God of War

The Crazy BeastMaster
Truly awesome event.....the fun-factor was off the charts, IMO....and being drunk was cool too...lol. No one seemed too bothered by it, but regardless I'd just like to apologize to anyone who may have thought I was a bit drunken, belligerent or loud and obnoxious....lol, 8 beers and 8 shots of Tequila will do that to ya :) Ok, so where do I begin? The matches in MKA/MKD/MKDA were excellent and I had lots of fun, although I played much better before I smoked that blunt w/ Check and Jago :)....but WHO else can say they smoked a blunt in Philly at NEC w/ Check and Jago besides Check, Jago and myself??? Right, so moving on - VGGS to everyone I played and hopefully next event I will get to play the people i didn't get to play.

Phil - You are a really good guy and a very kind-hearted person. You and your fiance appear to be so similar, almost 2 peas in a pod and i think/hope long years of happiness for you both together, it was an honor meeting both of you.....even your dogs are mild-mannered and well-behaved...LOL. I appreciate all your kind words, genuine concern, talking me into going and the phone call the next day to welcome me back (unfortunately I was in bed nursing a hang-over)....as a fellow animal-lover, you know that when they need to be tended to, it MUST be done promptly and that is why I couldn't return on Sunday ( I honestly didn't finish until Monday night :(). VGGS in our SFA3 casuals, i wish we could have played more, but i understand how busy you guys were trying to run everything.

Dark Rob - I must admit, like I said I was expecting more of a tall thin Richard Attenborough-looking fella at 1st, but that was just who my brain pictured myself talking to all these years, idk why...maybe it's the way you have a great expansive knowledge on nearly everything. Regardless, you indeed proved yourself as one of the friendliest, generous and helpful people I had come to know....err, had already known and it was very cool to hang out w/ you and meet the person behind the PC. Most excellent H. Smoke , I see you have come a long way in a mere 6 short months or so in UMK3 and keep up the great work.

Check - Another person who was physically different than what I had pictured, but as I stated,...that is nothing more than the brain trying to create a perception w/out visuals. One of the coolest people I've met to date, it was very fun chillin w/ you guys in the hotel room and finally getting some games in, as well as seeing you and Bill beast-out in MKDCU and MKDA...VERY entertaining. That Jersey weed was bangin and I was sooooo lit after the 3 of us blazed up, I couldn't figure out if I was drunk or high until i started driving home...lol. Thanks for being , Brotha...it was truly a pleasure.

Jago - Another very cool, quiet and laid-back individual, NOTHING like what I had percieved him as. I was always picturing some short little Japanese guy w/ a headband and a light-saber screaming "ENDOKUUUUUUKEN!!!".....and then smacking my grill w/ a fireball :p Very impressive steez in MKA and I thoroughly enjoyed our MKD matches as well...that Sareena OWNS, dude. You reminded me so much of when I lived in the South and how very different everything is from place to place.....up North here, many of us are always in a rush and scrambling about like ants cuz there's so much to do and not enough time to accomplish it, which was my case. It was fun burning w/ you and Jay and sharing some customs and having in-depth conversation about some real shit. I look forward to hanging out w/ you again.

REO - the little brother I never had....LOLOLOL. Great to finally meet you, Joe ...shame we didn't get to play anything, I would have at least liked to get some UMK3/MKA in w/ you. You're a very quiet person, ftmp, but you chatted a good bit after awhile. Congratulations for placing high in both UMK3 and MKDCU, I can't help but think if everyone was on point and in-practice this epic event would have been even MORE epic. You are more than welcome to roll down here for casuals w/ Rob, Phil, Aure, Shock, AC1984 and the crew to my house and the local arcade when the occassion arises.

DC HUSTLE - Don't sweat the past , man...it water under the bridge or water over the dam or however you'd like to put it...I don't hold grudges, let alone judge a person IRL by their online personality. I wasn't sure what to expect when I met you or how you would react to my presence, but I was impressed non-the-less and I am convinced you are a cool, mature and respectful person worthy of my friendship and you are also welcome here anytime you are in the area. I finally got to play your Jax and I must say that the rumors are true...the pressure game was insane and I had a hard time just moving about. Thanks for the advice and encouragement, I look forward to seeing you again be it at the next event or just some local casuals.

DanCock - Mr. Cock....COCK!!! I must say, you are also the same way offline as you are behind the PC...not much difference if any, very kind, funny, respectful and considerate. It was cool to finally play some 3-D MK w/ you, always love seeing a good Sindel. Thanks for having me in your hotel room, you are a generous host and a very real person as well. I am glad you guys found me comical and enjoyed the company and "entertainment" and I'm glad you talked about vagina-pussy but if you grab my ass again, i think i'm gonna get angry....LMAO j/k

THTB/Dontay - Another perfect example of why one should not judge a person IRL by their online persona. This is a dude I have had repeated issues ( mostly cuz I'm a stubborn knucklehead w/ anger problems lol) w/ and arguements (some heated), yet in person we clicked like remote controls and got along like we lived a block away from each other for years. I never pictured myself chilling in a room laughing and joking w/ you a year or a few years ago, but I must say it was rather enjoyable and you definitely rank up there as one of the cooler catz I have met before. Realness is seeing people for who they truly are, as well as giving 2nd chances for 1st impressions, and I'm glad we were able to do that, although I must admit, I didn't even think about the fact that I had previously had words w/ Hustle, REO and yourself until Monday when I was reading posts and whatnot...I was having way too much fun!! :) Great Reptile, you'd have collosal mirror matches w/ B- W1zZ and you don't miss a beat or make many mistakes. Vggs my friend. Let me know when you will be in the area next....I still have a living, beathing Arcade not 5 minutes from my house w/ UMK3, MvC2, SVC Chaos, SCII, MK2 and a handful of others and Shock, Simon and myself have made friends w/ the owners as well.

STORMS - You were so quiet and laid back I almost forgot you were THERE a few times!!! I wish we could have played but you seemed perfectly content recording matches and working on the website. Super-nice guy in person, i just wish I could have had more time to get to chat w/ you. You are also relatively local and also welcome to head up this way for casuals anytime you can make it. Us PA.-boyz stick together...haha. Can't wait to see all those 3-D MK matches you recorded!!! Thanks for all the work you've dedicated to the community and I look forward to seeing you next time I'm gathered w/ Simon, Shock and whomever else.

Tom Brady - Very nice meeting you...I SWEAR you were on that damn cell phone as much as you were actually playing games....LOLOL!!! Congratulations on taking the MKDCU Tourney, I had heard alot about you, but now it is proven facts. A very nice guy in person, who appeared open-minded and outgoing...i admit I was expecting someone a little more angry considering how much shit the online community has given you, but I see you take it all in stride, as knowing is better than assuming....and don't let these online-heros get under your skin, man...we have all seen 1st-hand what you can do. Bravo.

Juggernaut/Tyler - Glad you made it, man...I was looking forward to meeting you in person and playing you but I don't think we got to play even ONE offline match and you're also a very quiet and laid back dude, so I didn't get to really get into an intellectually stimulating conversation w/ you like I was looking forward to (not like I was sober enough to have one LOL), but none-the-less it was very cool to hang w/ you and hang out. I'm happy to have seen so many people make it from out-of-state, let alone crossing such great distances to get there (some nearly 1,000 miles)...that is EXACTLY the type of example to set for the rest of the community and get them involved. Give me a holla if u'r ever in the area again, Bro

Riu48 - I wish I could say more, but you are another person who was pretty damn quiet and just kinda chilled and played games w/out really talking a whole lot. I had a brief conversation w/ you and you seem like a very smart character with a good brain on your shoulders, as well as very friendly and respectful. Great games in MKA, and I think we played some MKD as well. I hope you join us for casuals in my area next time we meet up, my house isn't big, but I'll cram as many people as possible in here and hook up some games for us.

SweetJohnnyCage - Didn't get to chat w/ you much excpet for a little while in the "UMK3" hotel room, but you are a very cool dude and you seem rather joyful and cheerful in general. perhaps next time we can get some games in (unless we already did and I was too drunk to remember), and you can roll w/ Shock, Simon and the crew up my way next time.

Summoning - VGGS man and a pleasure meeting you. Without a doubt, you have one of the nastiest Cyrax I have ever played...such patience and methodical strategy as well as a ridiculously good anti-air game (I vote Phil, Simon and yourself the best 3 aa'ers I ever played). You are a a really cool person and I hope to hang/play more in the future and learn from you as well. Also thank you for hosting the event and the work you have done for the community.

NoDoubt - You are every bit like I expected, but more quiet....as a matter of fact as much as I appreciate the advice you were giving me, I only heard about half of it cuz you talk so low...LOL. You are a MUCH better player offline than I percieved you as online....I always thought you were good, but I had NO IDEA you were a total monster. You really beat my ass, and your true skill was reflected by placing high in the tourney. Congratulations, Arion.

Red Saleen - How the HELL did I miss you? Apparently you were standing next to me most of the evening and I didn't even know who you were!!! I really wanted to meet you, as I respect your opinion as a fellow "MK-Hater", and I was hoping you'd show me that sick-ass Mustang as well.

Last but DEFINITELY not least.....

Shock - a million thanks for hosting and all your dedication to this community. As we have already met and hung out and played, you already know we'd like to "adopt" you...LMAO!! Your dedication is legendary and you are a huge predominant reason that there IS and existing MK Community. I know we didn't really get to play cuz you were always running around setting up and being a Staff , but we can actually play offline nearly anytime, as you already know. Thanks for everything, including having me there, my friend.

AC1984/Simon - My new mentor and new friend. it's always a pleasure to chill and play UMK3 with you, so I was already expecting the ass-whoopins you gave me. :) Hopefully when school's over, you can train me some more and I can really get good. Thank both of you for bringing me into the Offline scene and welcoming me so warmly, I'll be calling you to try and set up some more matches very soon, as NEC just caused me to have a total relapse and I got the MK-virus again.

I'm pretty sure I missed some people for 1 reason or another, but this has already taken me nearly 2 hours to type up and I need to give my hands a rest...lol. For those of you whom I didn 't mention for local casuals over here at my place and the Arcade, you are ALL invited and I hope to see each and everyone of you at latest by Spring, so maybe I can get this Games, drinking and BBQ i been trying to organize for a while. Basically, I'm gonna host matches, have a ridiculous amount of beer and food, and cook a massive feast on the grill after getting everyone drunk and playing Fighting Games, so PM me or call if you are interested. In the meantime, I'm always down for Offline casuals local, just give me a day of 2 in advance. Peace Gentlemen, and thank you all for making the Community what it is today.

Jago - Another very cool, quiet and laid-back individual, NOTHING like what I had percieved him as. I was always picturing some short little Japanese guy w/ a headband and a light-saber screaming "ENDOKUUUUUUKEN!!!".....and then smacking my grill w/ a fireball :p
I want to sig that soooooooooooo fucking bad. LMFAO!

i know this is very late and overdue but

i just wanted to say it was VERY fun, i had the time of my life. i have never really hung out with friends much to do things like video gaming, ive only had myself to play with offline, LOL. i only have like one friend i really hang out with in person, hes real cool, but we do other things, hes not really into the types of video games i am. so it was cool to meet up with people that have very common interests with me that like games that i like, and share a room and play mka and chill. ive known a lot of you in the mk community for a very long time like a family, so it was very awesome to meet you all. one of the best times i ever had in my life, and i was treated with much love and respect from all of you there. everyone here is very nice guys and i was surprised at how chill everyone was. i felt like i made a lot new good friends.

i had no idea how good id be at mka offline but had practiced a lot against the cpu. i did a lot better than i thought i would. some characters that i thought would work well offline did not, and some that i thought would suck offline turned out to be real good. i liked maining sareena, kira, sub-zero, kobra, cyrax, mileena, etc. the most and felt most comfortable with those characters. i think everyone did good, especially since i bet some of you guys probably hadnt touched mka in a long time.

this was also my first time ever flying in a plane, so that was awesome to get to see through all the layers of clouds and stuff and looking down at the city and earth from 50,000 or whatever feet in the air. it was actually pretty exciting.

it was awesome to meet, talk to, and shake hands with all of you known high level players, and those that have been known as legends throughout fighting game history: check, tom brady, shock, etc. hell i even saw justin wong standing there like 2 feet away from me a couple times, but was too nervous to talk to him. i wanted to walk up to him and ask for his autograph LOL. also got to meet paulz from tekkenzaibatsu when i was there. he was a good friend of mine that had actually came by my house for offline tekken matches a few times in the past, and would beat the crap outta me everytime.

wanna give a lot of shoutouts to a lot of people

first and foremost dancock deserves the biggest shout out from me - if it wasnt for him i wouldnt even have been able to go to nec. he paid my plane ticket so that i could actually go, and picked me up from the airport. really nice and awesome guy. i am eternally greatful and in your debt. thanks for helping and looking out for me.

check - i finally got to meet you dude, YEA! it was funny how i didnt even recognize you at first when you said hey to me...so that was kinda funny. i had only seen that one picture of you and you looked a lot different. as soon as i realized it was you i was caught off guard cuz heres the guy i had looked up to for so long i was at a loss for words so i was just like whats up yea lol. really nice dude, very funny sense of humor. you treated me like a bro just like you do online. it was cool to see you destroy us all at mkda, mkd, mka, mkdc lol. you beat tom like 8-2 or somethin crazy on mkdc. your shang and kitana was very nice. i liked your frost on mkda and your kung lao was also great i thought. it was cool smoking blunts with you too and gettin to spend some time to ourselves. my only regret was i wish we coulda got to play each other more on games. i wanted to play like 500 mka matches with you haha. hopefully we can next time we meet up.

thtb - 2nd dude i met after meeting dan on the way to our room. very cool and smart guy. brought his wii and hanged out in our room for the night. it was cool to finally get to play the mka version of wii because i always wanted to try the endurance mode out. wicked hotaru in mkd, i couldnt hang with that stuff haha.

riu - quiet laid back dude, was fun to play mka with you too. your drahmin stood out to me the most in mka, very good.

storms - real awesome guy, dresses like a rockstar, lol. was cool to meet the guy that runs this place. gotta really give him props for going through all the effort of setting up his recording equipment so he could capture for us, you done a lot of hard work to make sure everyone else was having a good time. was also cool to play on your umk3 cabinet, i had fun trying to get used to stick play lol.

arez - really awesome guy to hang out with and funny too. really talkative and outgoing. thanks for the kind words about me on mka, it was fun to play you on mka and i think we played a bit of mkd too. very cool that you came and smoked with check and i.

tom brady - was awesome to meet you, real nice person. very knowledgable in many fighting games. i woke up the next day on saturday and there he was sitting in the floor beside me playing check on mkda early in the morning lol, didnt even know he had came in. thanks for teaching me some about mkda and it was cool to play a few rounds with you. got to play you in the mkdc tourney and in the tekken 6 tourney. damn ur bob and him perfecting me twice...lol.

reo - pretty cool easy going dude. your flash in mkdc was crazy, i learned a lot about offline play from watching you and playing you. your punishing and combo execution skills are very spot on. i hope my flash can be as good as yours some day. i seriously thought it would be you that would win the mkdc tourney and beat tom, but it was still a very close finals and you both played hard.

phil (9.95) - cool to finally meet you, had talked to you a couple times on the phone. didnt get to talk to you a whole lot, i knew you were busy setting everything up for the tourneys, so i didnt wanna bother you too much lol. was cool to meet your fiance too and pretty cool adorable dogs you have. thanks for still trying to get me one of those dogtags made, cant wait lol.

shock - was cool to meet you in person although we didnt talk a lot. ive always been a fan of your combo vids and matches of umk3 on youtube and we had talked on aim a few times before.

juggernaut - pretty cool to meet you, cool quiet person lol. we got to play a match of umk3 together so that was cool. :)

dc hustle - was cool to meet you. you were like "sup jago" and i didnt know who you were at first, only pic i remember seeing was when you had these long dreads so you looked like a diff person, lol. was cool to meet you too dude.

was cool to meet a lot of umk3 players, i havent really talked to a lot of you, but i know yall are big names and top players: it was cool to meet guy and exchange first words with people like summoning, ac1984, dark rob, etc.

also big props to this guy with long hair named chris that played me a lot on umk3...sorry don't know what your username is online. was pretty fun, you were doing all the crazy reptile combos and stuff. also got to play marrvista a couple matches i think. never heard of him before, but saw that you won the umk3 tourney, so much respect. :)

also shoutout to some guy called justin, same name as me, lol, and some guy called baconbits or something? i dunno. they were tekken players from tekken zaibatsu from south carolina. them and a bunch of their friends, including some pretty girls, approached me and asked me to take a photo of their group. then we all had a nice talk about tekken and stuff.

im sure theres a lot more mk players i didnt really get to meet, especially on the 2d side but my repsect is still there for you for coming out to such an event to show your skills. hope to go to another one soon, hopefully winter brawl, and get better acquainted with everyone and have more fun. :)

sorry if i forgot anyone, i tried to list everyone i could remember that i crossed paths with significantly, and might add more if i can think of anybody later.

Thanks!! Now if we can only find out who deleted the matches of me and Tom in MKDC off my computer.......... hmmmm

It was my pleasure, but i doubt i'll be going back to a tourny after this.
