Mortal Kombat X Gameplay trailer from E3

My hype for MKX is at an all time low. Previously: 432/10. Currently: 4.4/10. Allow me to break down how 432 went to 4.4:

1) Movement

The biggest difference in terms of fluidity of movement between MK9 and Injustice was the dashing. Specifically, the block dashing. Injustice had predetermined times for how long a character's dash was and you could do nothing while dashing. In MK9, you can interrupt a dash with a block, normal, special, or throw. This allowed for faster paced, fluid movement in battle. Whether you enjoy Injustice, MK9, or both, it's objectively fair to say Injustice moves more like chess - deliberate and obvious, while MK9 moves more like a DOA5. In my opinion, fluid combat generates hype.

While we can't be 100% certain at this point how fluid the combat actually is, if it lends itself to Injustice's style then my 100% certainty of buying an XBox1 + MKX has disappeared. Hype factor: -300.

2) Interactables

Even if we can turn off interactables, the community will have to debate whether or not they are allowed in tournament. This all depends on how powerful they are. If NRS follows the Injustice model, then interactables will be extremely powerful. So strong in fact that characters were balanced around them. This inherently takes focus off of the development of the balance between characters themselves as the game is created with interactables in mind.

I have very little faith in our community to enforce a tournament ruleset that doesn't allow for interactables. Therefore, hype factor: -127.6.

Yes, the character design, visuals, stages, fatalities all look incredible. But if the game itself isn't enjoyable to play...then what's the point? 10 minutes to YouTube all the fatalities and on my way.

Here's hoping I eat my words. Anyone who knows me on here knows how hype I am for Mortal Kombat and knows that these words above were difficult to type...but they're the truth.

Shoot them. Shoot them all.
I'm liking the 3 "hits" to the X-rays, I wonder how much damage they will do?

Both stages looked GORGEOUS and dark as fuck (especially the forest stage). Also, in the bug lady fight, before she goes crawling up the wall to avoid Bane, the music sounds fast paced and dark. I'm loving it.

Plus on block.
I think it LOOKS great, but I don't know about the interacting stages. This is one of the main reasons why I hated Injustice, it just was stupid. I just hope MK doesn't change too much like they did after MK3, which is when the series started declining, until they went back to basics with MK9, and is why I love that game. Don't over complicate this game with stuff like that. There's a reason why MvC and SF stay so popular in the FG community, they don't have any gimmicky shit like that in it.

Again though, I haven't played it, so this is just based on what I saw on the trailer. I will still be buying this game, because I want to support MK and the community. And if it ends up being awesome and the stages aren't that big of an issue. I will be the first to admit I was wrong.
Boon tweeted that most of the interactables are for stage movement, and the offensive ones are blockable with the block button.

I feel like interactables being in this game is clouding my judgement, but I don't know what to think. If they're blockable I can probably deal with it.
Yup...this is/was me. I was shaking until I saw the swinging and barrel throwing and then I just lost my shit and threw up. However, Ed's "block button" tweet has calmed me down immensly. The Scorp/Sub fight was gorgeous.

Plus on block.
Was that a trait at 0:40?
No one is talking about this.

Why is no one talking about this?

He straight up activated his Injustice trait.

In MKX.

It could always be that they gave it to him as a special move, but still.

Really, seems like characters have a lot more special moves in this game compared to MK9.

I'm glad my idea for Sub to have a non-offensive ice slide got in, and besides that he had a lot of cool new stuff shown off, Scorpion even more so.

That should had a lot of variety to matches.

What is going on guys, Ya Boi Zyphox here.

here you can play this game.

as for myself i'll conserve my thoughts when i get my hands on the game.

I liked the new chars. I'm a bit more partial to them, because I've been playing the other chars since MK1, so I like new chars(not cuz im some filthy casual pleb). I like the darker tone. It almost has a MK Deception feel to it visually(one of my fav in the series). Looks like the walk speed isn't slow thank the gods. If the combat is responsive, I might actually take an MK game seriously enough to compete again, and you WILL be in danger.

Guys look up a thread by me called "This is for when mkx comes out", I made an interesting proposition as I want us all to be able to deal with whatever character that will get called broken or op.

Waiting for Havik
Stage interactables, Injustice jump.... I'm out
I think the only one that perform an IGAU jump was the big guy, the jump from the bug lady could have been some sort of anti air (ala Cyrax). Scorpion and subzero have MK jumping.
