When winter comes, I want to be home and mashin' with my SkarletMK9 TE 2.00 will be delayed again. It will come out at some point in the latter half of this year, but I have no further news to offer.
I know this is spoiling a bit, but I think this stuff should be announced at this point:
-Bosses will not be playable. It's just not really feasible to rebalance them. You end up with characters that are pretty much neutered(especially with the fact they have no breakers and they can't jump or normally crouch at all)
-I've been thinking about the classic music mod and ultimately, I think it's kinda pointless. I mean, not only will it bloat the size of the rar but also, on SP modes you can't play modern music. (The method to playing classic music by default is by editing the music files and swapping the music tag/name around. So when the game thinks it's playing the modern music, it's playing classic and viceversa) That and when you really get down to it, the mod is a balance mod intended for tournament players, who will likely either not care about the music or if they wanna play classic music, they'll just press start on the stage select screen to enable the classic music.
-Unless it's a bugfix or hotfix, future patches will be unlikely.(Unless there's a lot of demand for it, but even then keep in mind the limitations of MK9 modding)
This isn't exactly news (I had already stated 2.00 was to be the last major update, unless new breakthroughs in MK9 modding were to occur) but I'm just posting this again as a reminder.
When the time is right, I will get back to this with you. For now I have life bugs and gliches I need to take care of.I meant primarily a balance mod, forgot to add that word, oops!
There are gameplay/engine changes done to improve the quality of the game (like the air breaker nerf and the partial input bug fix) and yes, the netcode mod is among them.
However you need to do some extra steps (it's listed in the "howtousemodifiednetcode" txt file) in order to use one of the optional netcode fixes. By default, the netcode isn't modded since it can be wildly hit and miss when it comes to improving the code. Sometimes it will vastly improve the experience, other times it's a slight improvement and sometimes it can outright CRASH the game. It depends heavily on the opponent you face and the quality of connection between you two.
BTW, you're welcome!
Send me a PM and we can talk there. In regards to testing netcode, my pc isn't really good for that. I do know a player who could be up for testing netcode, but I need to talk to him first. When the time is right, I will get back to this with you. For now I have life bugs and gliches I need to take care of.
Are you on some kind of communicator, in case I would need to talk to you about setting this game to work properly.
We also could run a game test, I have decent connection here in Warsaw.
No. Balance comes first, and balance doesn't always mean every character needs new combos. Only characters who need them will be given those tools.
Yeah, I figured so, but still.No. Balance comes first, and balance doesn't always mean every character needs new combos. Only characters who need them will be given those tools.
As for making a separate gameplay mod that breaks the characters, it can be done, but right now, TE is my main focus and personally, a mod that breaks the MK9 chars and gives them new combos is a possibility but NOT a probability.
It's intended to be a special high attack, in other words, if the opponent is crouching, they can avoid the attack. If they are crouch blocking, it will connect. No edits to the colsize variable were done, only the blockreq one.@NSR Kenshi's soul charge tends to whiff in the corner against crouching opponents. Try cancelling f32 or 114 into it against a crouch blocking Scorpion, it works on other characters as well.
So, first roadblock lol. That is awesome dude! looking forward to the feedback.
